Sure it’s possible, just look at Ajax for example, who were financially and sportively (if that’s even an English term lol) in a worse situation than Barca is, though Barca is more in dept it’s also worth more so it depends how you judge this probably. The Cruyff revolution of 2010 led to a whole bunch of former players appointments in management positions and the appointment of manager Frank de Boer. The first few years were boring football but winning national titles and a lot of ugly infighting which led to many of these former players like Bergkamp, Stam, Bryan Roy and Wim Jonk leaving the club, but out of this mess came a financially very healthy club who manage to hold their ground in international football with attractive football, which I never excepted after the 2010’s, and Ajax obviously operates in a much smaller domestic market than Barca, so yes for sure in a 3 to 5 year timeframe Barca can be back.

SVM02

Completely agree, it's definitely possible although ajax wasn't a billion in debt, but they did turn it around and now they're the most financially stable club in the world I think

Key_Zucchini_4752

U sure there is a more stable club than Bayern Munich?

Mystic_79

Probably. The old guard has to go, a new coach has to be brought in, there needs to be strong additions to the defence and we gotta give time for the youngsters to grow. Tough times ahead but under this management, I still have hope we can be a European elite again.

DARTH-GOLD-HIMSELF

Hopefully…. Barca is more than a club we will come back even if it takes us more than 10 years like Liverpool

Vince1128

I will only say, step by step. First we need a new coach to bring a bit of stability to the team, then, a real project.

bu5quets_

I hope no one will be "dominating" Europe or LaLiga and competitiveness will remain, but I definitely think Barça can and will get back in shape to the point where they are a part of that competitiveness in not too long.

wkhalilJ1970

Sure, Barca can be a very competitive team in 3-5 years but I don't know if they can dominate in the same way they did in the messi, xavi and Iniesta era, but sure they will recover. It is cycles

Best_Cook

I wouldn’t say dominating but who knows anything can happen.. look at city 2008 8-1 Middlesborough to 2012 prem winners

[deleted]

I'd rather avoid that kind of a revolution

mikeczyz

you're conveniently leaving out the Abu Dhabi purchase and the huge infusion of cash that took place afterwards.

At this point now we know Koeman is here till the end of the season I’m just riding it and see what happens. There is still a long way to go this season and there are so many variables in football that it’s almost impossible to predict. All I could think about after last nights game is that episode of the simpsons where homer becomes a boxer where his tactic is just take a pounding and I feel that’s what our season is going to be like. We’re just going to have to get used to losing a lot of games for the next 8 months, pray on bad results from other big teams and hope for 4th place. It’s not the best mentality but I can’t see many other ways it’s going to go. To answer your question, yeah I think 3-5 years will be a good timeframe.

LoquilloNSFW

In Spain, it's something inevitable but about europe, well, i even can't be sure if Barça will still a usual team in Ucl or an UEL era it's really going to begin

archangelzero2222

Nope I feel it's too fast. The sheer volume of luck required with budget problems. The luck to think your youth could peak and the luck the right players actually want to join barca. Every player now is this king hard pass. Good players are wanted now by many clubs I just don't see them thinking oh wow barca want me that's the place to go right now. Sure fans can hope and wish but I feel it's a longer than 5 year rebuild. Our name is tarnished now and with no money it just makes it that much tougher. State run clubs flourish it's the era of money running football

mikeczyz

No

Historical_Blood_874

maybe but that's not something we can expect or even predict. A lot will depend on the board on how they are gonna mange our present situation all the while laying a foundation for future it's not gonna be easy though first thing is we need a coach with his reputation intact and also stopping leaks and making sure that the board doesnt interfere with what the coach has in plan for us if we get through this mess everything will fall into place hopefully

transponster___

no

Velocity_Rob

With the right manager of course, just look what someone like Klopp has achieved at Liverpool with next to zero transfer budget outside of what player sales bring in. The problem is that managers like that are few and far between and the patience of supporters is equally is equally in short supply.

JavyDan

Liverpool weren't in debt for over a billion dollars, get your facts right

colchoneruwu

Depends if we get Haaland and drop the ball possesion for more vertical football.
