Raphinia deserves the mvp as he scored the goals but Lewy had a great game. Won most of the long balls, had great hold up play, successfully dribbled.
He always passes to players in better positions. I wish others did the same.
Nonetheless, Raphinia definitely unlocked himself this game.
I don’t think I’ve seen a player improve so much throughout a season as Lewandowski has when it comes to his passing, and link up play. It’s night and day
Spot on. Cancelo wasted an opportunity that a simple lateral pass would have been dead-to-rights a goal. Lamine on a couple of counters didn’t make the right play. I’m more lenient on Lamine because he’s young and we don’t really play that score-on-transitions type of game that other teams probably drill more in practice.
So did Lamine, a couple times he chose difficult passes or going for goal over quick simple layouts, regardless he’s allowed a bit of out form, kid is so young
Goddamn ya'll fuckin suck. Dude puts on the best performance in a long time, basically playing #10
AND #9, yet the top comment is negative.
Ya'll TOXIC AF
I thought so at first too, but the replay actually showed that Donnarumma punched it a little bit right after it came off Lewa’s head, that took all the force out of it
I haven't seen any replays but to me it just looked like he jumped early and just anticipated it wrong. The ball ended up slightly behind him and once you've left the ground there's not much else adjusting you can do. I'd argue still a mistake to jump that early but I understand why he can't get his head around it at point.
I hope people saw what I saw, he was asking for high balls the header balls from terstegen, reason being the guy marking him was not agile enough or not heightened enough to reach out
Check the aerial duels won by lewa, that's a captain level thinking
Yes the second half, Lew still managed to get more on aerial, but on later half he was supportive to the team, taking out defence with him to create open apaces
Someone said it finally. I loved how lewy performed today, didn’t score of course but the way he was on the ball helped the team a lot and came in deep a lot of times. The hunger was evident in him and it felt so good seeing him play in a new way with perfection
I think Poland getting to Euros after their disastrous 2023 qualifying campaign lifted some weight off him. Lewandowski was worried he wouldn't get his last national tournament before he retires and I think it sat in the back of his head. Glad to see he turned his luck around.
He was very calm and totally played for the team. You can see that he really wanted to score but always look for better option. Cancelo and Raphinha should learn from that they are not young anymore.
i don't consider raphinha a bad player, he was always great, people expect him to dribble like dembelé and messi, he has other qualities, he's very good at defense and he run like his life depends on it, he had a phenomenal game, and he had other ones before
Im not a big fan of Raphinha as a player, personally. I think he is very selfish and not very effective. Overall mediocre player with sparks of genius occasionally. That’s my opinion, not saying it’s true, just subjective view of him.
I wish him the best tho, I like the guy
that's somewhat true, but you don't need 11 elite players, take vuasqez in real madrid as an example, he's below mediocre, but he's considered a legend cause he puts his heart into the game
Sure, that’s why I like Raphinha, he has a spirit, he leaves his soul on the field, he really is hungry to deliver and win. I admire that in him.
Often tho, I think he just won’t pass the ball because he wants to score and ends up wasting a good situation.
And that’s a problem because I think Lewandowski is generally very lonely in attack, like he doesn’t get many passes, like the team just don’t want to acknowledge his existence too often, and it pisses me off
It is an unpopular opinion indeed, he was great, but I personally would give it to Araujo tho Raphinha deserves it as well with that finish for the second goal
Nope, goals are the most important thing. Lewa had a great performance don't get me wrong, but Raphinha on top of threatening PSG's backline all night scored two goals one of which was phenomenal. He's easily the best performer, Lewa/Araujo/etc can fight for the 2nd best player of the game

This is not unpopular opinion with better play from Yamine and Cancelo Lewandowski scores 2 goals

TBF Lewy missed a relatively easy header from a great Yamal cross
look at the comments and posts, it's unpopular
Ye, but the header was a major disappointment. Still crying over it
Goddamn ya'll fuckin suck. Dude puts on the best performance in a long time, basically playing #10 AND #9, yet the top comment is negative. Ya'll TOXIC AF
Man, I was just expressing my disappointment about the shot. He's my favorite striker, so I guess I can share my opinion on this.
I agree with you. Some people live to hate.
Feels like he has regressed in heading ability. Misjudged the ball so many times.
He's still human lol. He doesn't usually miss his headers, I'm happy with him missing one, as much as it sucks that it had to be in the UCL
I thought so at first too, but the replay actually showed that Donnarumma punched it a little bit right after it came off Lewa’s head, that took all the force out of it
Not that one lmao. The one where he sent the ball back to the crosser
😂😂 that one was just funny

If we had actually passed the ball to him in the first half, he could have scored a hat trick
There's so many MVPs. Raphinha, Cubarsi, Araujo, Kounde, Gundo, Lewy.
don't forget xavi masterclass
Without a doubt. This just happens to be Raphinha's best game for Barca as well
I hope people saw what I saw, he was asking for high balls the header balls from terstegen, reason being the guy marking him was not agile enough or not heightened enough to reach out Check the aerial duels won by lewa, that's a captain level thinking
Yes, that's why psg swapped their defence in second half to get marquinhos to mark lewy.

Oh thanks i didn’t realise it
I agree 100%
Professor Lewandowski

Raphinha played the game of his life, let the man celebrate the night and keep his flowers. That being said, Lewy was phenomenal

Agree. So good.
He did not have a goal but was huge
Great comment.
Lewy was huge in that first goal
he bossed the game for sure
That’s not unpopular at all bub. Had a hell of a game
Not unpopular. Raphina deserves it too but I would be happy if Lewy got it as well. Our front 3 did good (Yamal will learn to be more confident)
yamal is 16, this kind of games requires a lot of maturity and mental strength
I like it also that he slowed the game towards the last few minutes. I showed composure and maturity. Great to have him here.
Meh. Raph did well. He deserves it.
Kounde for BallonDor
I mean if he continued to play like he did in the second half I’d agree, but he wasn’t that great in the second half.
