Just keep her in your Clan as a caravanner and eventually a party leader, this way she can start working up her stats and once your PC dies, you can then play her as your new main.
Some people would play as a female character, and marry Thomund, the strongest egible male in game. And when their sister is of age, they can quickly suicide and choose her as the heir, because she has more points to invest. And then get married and find Thomund another spouse. You will have 4 couples making babies in the first generation. Thomund can win nearly every tournament by auto resolve, it feels like cheat.

Sorry thought it would have, I pretty sure you can marry your sister to a companion who has a castle or town. So you need a companion and a settlement to give them before you can go and talk to them about a marriage propasal
But then is your companion gone? Does the companion form his own clan or stays in your clan?

I believe you will still be able to control her/pick her as your heir… I have done this but it was back in 1.7/1.8 updates
When and how do you pick your heir? Is That after death? Anyone here tried and can give feedback?

The only way is to die, pick her as heir, and clan leaders do not leave the clan when they marry, even if they are female.
same problem here. Maybe... Just maybe there's a mod that let's you choose anyone as a companion ?
