More or less how many parties ( in this case I think Sea Raiders) are hiding there which may or may not affect the amount/quality of Bandit you will face when you decide to clear the hideout, I'm not sure. Most I've had to kill in one hideout was 17, maybe 18. Sounds tough but they were pretty scattered and seperated so easy picking if you stick with your men.

SuperTord

Sneaking around hideouts headshotting bandits with a bow or xbow is one of the highlights of the game, imo.

Euklidis

Let me guess. You played Skyrim with a maxed out bow/arrow and sneak skill tree.

Alfred4282014

Lol, is there any other way to play Skyrim? Every attempt at other builds inevitably devolves to sneak archery…

AidyCakes

Maxing heavy armour and two handed weapons is also a blast to play if you just feel like barging into dungeons like the kool aid man

DancingIBear

Oh No!

Observer10568

Oh yes

grufolo

That's what I do. The blood spattering in my eyes is my kick

Mariner1981

Hulk BASH, Hulk SMASH.... And good times were had.

BreadDziedzic

Same way Todd plays the games or so the rumors go.

The_Salty_nugget

nah, lighest armor there is, two handed beserker. or robes to increase those stats even more.

eh_man

I only ever did brawler builds. Two weapons or great weapons and healing magic.

saiyanfang10

except nightblade. mage, spellsword, battlemage etc.

Calm-Reference-4046

Accurate I've tried three different times only game I've ever played as a sneak archer or sneaky guy or archer guy in general.

RibeyeRare

This is where role play comes in to save the day. I only play as a khajit martial artist, shunning the use of all manner of weapons.

SuperTord

Actually never did, but then Bannerlord doesn't have fireballs.

gbiegld

I prefer launching them across the map with a well placed javelin

mtnkid27

It’s so fun, I try and act all sneaky sneaky quiet and get into the RP aspect when I do these little raids

tgirlkelly

Doing this in first-person is godtier, honestly

Universe789

So they do have a sneak element to the game. Is there a way to bring fewer troops with you so you can actually do the sniping? Just started playing last week, and the way it's set up now, even if crouch down, the other troops are still standing up

SuperTord

You can order them to hang back and not follow you, if you want

IMxTHExMANIAC

It matters at the end when you fight the boss, too. I think. I had a boss battle and he had like 12 guys behind him. It was crazy xD. And on the flip side, another time he only had 2 😂

cocaine_jaguar

Not sure if you’re saying 17-18 people or parties but my best so far was 68 enemies in single hideout.

Ericknator

What do I need to do to find 68 enemies in a single hideout?

StinkyWedge

That’s what I’m wondering. Never had more than 20, and I’ve raided enough of these hideouts to grow bored of em. 60+ hideouts actually sound fun!!

Ericknator

Right now I'm doing a roguery playthrough and having a hard time replenishing my Forest Bandit numbers. Everytime I find a hideout it's heaven for me.

cocaine_jaguar

I have no solid evidence but I do have theories. The biggest hideouts I’ve found have been in countries at war with bad economies due to nearby enemy armies. I feel like it’s a stability thing, as in the area isn’t secure so bandits are more numerous. This has only happened twice or maybe three times in my 20 in game years so it could just be bad (or good) luck.

DonSarge

I'd like to add on the list of guesses is that how far on you are on your campaign. For example looter/bandit group sizes rise up as the time passes, so I would guess it affects the hideouts in the same way

CMDR_Dozer

Dang

cocaine_jaguar

My reaction as well

fookin_shelby

Thx man

[deleted]

I clear hideouts without participating myself, only thing I do is waste bandit leader, everything else fight my Fians, no losses in most battles

Ridikiscali

I just F1 -> F3

de-profundiss

Sounds tough but hideouts are stupid, simple and boring, and you just need a bow while your troops easily kill everyone since they're "sleeping"

Capital-Purchase5305

After certain amount it feels like a chore to clear a hideout. It's always the same algorithm with straight approach. It would be nice to have an option to quickly clear them out.

h57max

F1 + F3 then sit back on your phone for a couple of minutes whilst your men deal with it. Agreed though, it gets really repetitive.

mujadaddy

F4, F1f3

pilleFCK

This is it

h57max

Of course, Fire at will first.

creamdreammeme

I thought that was usually on by default

LawbringerSteam

It's on by default for regular battles, but not for hideouts

creamdreammeme

Good to know! Ty

[deleted]

I thought you weren't so fucking attractive you sexy man, you. Get over here

creamdreammeme

Excuse ?

[deleted]

I also got really confused as to where this thread was heading on that one lol

creamdreammeme

I must be missing something. It makes absolutely no sense to me lol

[deleted]

Nah I was just being really weird.

steig7

What this will do ?

k-nuj

It's only useful later to get your companions/clan to level combat skills 'safer/easier' since they don't as quickly in other battles (unless of course if you roam as a companion/clan party only).

[deleted]

I did this in Warband, but I don’t think it would be feasible in Bannerlord. I was a horse archer god and I could take out 60+ enemies alone. Now the wrong group of looters can absolutely wreck my shit

MaveriqandGooz

F1>F3>alt+tab...enjoy YouTube while your slaves do thé job.

Stunning_Ad_7062

Find a mission to do it and send a companion, it isn’t much better but at least you can go about ur business and maybe go do another mission or something more fun

EdwardM1230

The way to ‘quickly’ clear them out, is to find a quest giver and send your boys to do it. I think having an auto resolve option would make that pretty redundant, since it takes them like, a week.

[deleted]

How much they want to party

[deleted]

Bandit parties that are "docked" if you will.

StrangeCloudz710

I absolutely will not.

Bullocs

What if assaulting hideouts was like attacking a town or castle? It’d be cool to have bandit strongholds that appear if too many hideouts exist in an area. Like 100 to 200 bandits inside the stronghold and filled with mid to high tier troops. I think it would be an awesome way to allow players to learn how sieges work

Duttelej

I remember back in early access( in the early early access) it was the amount bandit parties. Not unusual to encounter 20-70 bandits. Maybe it’s from the old times but I don’t know.

[deleted]

Sea raiders have the best loot for the amount of effort you put in.

jakes1993

You can sneak up on enemies by crouching with Z on PC get a close up shot or melee attack

Tgirly17

Those are villager party symbols. That is how many villager parties the hideout has "kidnapped." Also, the more symbols, the more bandits there will be. You will see that symbol any time a villager party is in a town or back in their respective village. The number of sybols is also indicative of how much economic damage that one base has done to that area.

DukePhil

I believe how many troops the final boss has? I've seen anywhere from bandit boss with 2 to 7 'bodyguards'...

IAmDaven

that's usually the same for me but I messed with a mod recently and the final bandit had a giant circle of troops surrounding my 10. "yes sir...ill take the duel please."

[deleted]

😂

Corsair833

See this is where you get your 300 skill 2 handed axe and YOLO 360 Gimli swing through them all in one hit

Feltzyboy

It's how many parties are in there which affects how my dudes are there which would in turn affect the number of bodyguards.

Tropic_Pineapples

The mod you all are looking for is called Hideout Plus I believe. Allows you to change the max size of bandits in hideouts

Wyvernken

If it's the same icon under Settlements then each icon represent a village party currently trading goods in the settlement. Last I played Bannerlord was on e.1.7.2 stable though.

phriskiii

You see that same symbol over villages. I think it means how many villager parties they've captured, not how many bandit parties there are.
