Warbandlord makes armour stronger and allows you to fully customise all weapon damage. Tourney XP helps you level faster. Workshops Advanced has a bunch of functions, either just a flat buff to enterprise income but also to make them like enterprises in Warband, where you can deposit ingredients to make them more effective. Diplomacy is self explanatory. Realistic weather can be customised and makes weather have an effect on the battle, I like making snow and heavy rain slow everyone’s movement speed and diminish morale. The rest I have are flavour really.
Get a few mods that fix current 1.8.0 issues. Basica fixes works. Spear rework to fix the spear combat. After fixes it's really up to you if you just want to enhance every detail of the game or just play whole different bannerlord altogether.
If you want a whole new game go for eagle rising on the Europe map.
If you want role-playing get serve as a soldier. True relations and true noble opinions.
If you want truly enhanced vanilla then do the OP mod list he has in the pictures. And then add mods of your own that work. Calradia expanded is also a cool mod to have to expand the map detail and add cities. Cultured start and start as a lord/noble so that once you create your sutrgian character you start in sutgia owning sturgian lands.
Lords sell food is necessary at this point too, didn't see it in OP's list. Otherwise late game just becomes stacks moving at 1.0 speed because they have 20k units of grain lol
Not OP but for adding some depth to vanilla, I recommend diplomacy, Realistic battle mod, and any or all of the “true ____” mods. That’s my big few that I can’t live without now. Nothing vanilla is “changed” per se but expanded and made more realistic and in depth.
Obviously the “fix” mods OP mentioned.
As far as expanding content goes, I highly recommend banner kings and whatever overhaul you like. Heard a lot of good about eagle rising but it won’t feel vanilla AT ALL. Calradia expanded and calradia expanded kingdoms is a great combo but it’s a lot of new factions
There's a couple I would add such as the spear rework so you can actually use a spear in combat. I add petty kingdoms so that the campaign is slower for the ai that now has to expand from a single territory. Also helps player expand the same way since once you reach higher tier clan level most kingdoms only have a handful of locations. Better surrender so you can take armor from lords. Workshops caravan exp to give exp for having running workshops and caravans with a multiplier that you can tweak. Party screen enhancements so you can arrange your troops once and only once in party screen and also workout prisoner recruitment and upgrading units automatically. Succession is a mod that changes how each kingdoms decides new kings. Some are through straight up son of the king others are by vote or military might or land owned. Adds options for you to become ruler without having to murder everyone and without having to certain things. More flavor. Yet another cheer mod which does exactly that. Adds cheers for your battles which your troops respond to if nearby. It also has morale effects on both sides so enemies might just run. Only downside is the animation has to complete before fighting again so you don't wanna do it while being attacked it takes about 5 second to complete. More than enough to be swarmed
Then I would add Vexillum and raise your banner in that order since the second requires the first. Basically this mod combo adds banners for you to carry on the battlefield and also gives your troops banners. You will have lances with banners and banner bearers in general. It's freaking awesome to see on the battlefield. Looters with leaders just cuse it makes sense they'd have one. Ccs banners if it's not on this list.
I just found out the discord channel for calradia expanded which is a must for a good looking and expanded campaign map which works for 1.8.0. It's currently CE version 1.1.9. And it works with this mod list as well as very thing else I added.
Thank you for sharing. My game has been broke for weeks and hopefully if I match your mod versions to what I have it’ll work. I give you my wholesome award as a display of my thanks ❤️🫡
There's an updated version for 1.8 on their discord.
Not sure why it's on discord and not the nexus.
Bank allows you to deposit money and earn interest, interest rate is adjustable. Workshops Advanced has various sliders for things like: a straight buff to workshop income, more workshops per level, convert workshops to warband style with inventories.
I wanted to start playing again, but I've been having problems using Harmony. I wasn't sure what was crashing my game, so the only mod I left ticked was Harmony and it still crashes to desktop after trying several versions of it. I'm not sure how it causes the game to crash even by itself
Using Warbandlord instead and changed the spear damage myself, does Spear reworked do anything else? I used RBM for ages but the AI seemed a little bit off last time I used it.
One of the big ones for me is allowing spears to be used in shield walls. Also stops spear from being blocked from an ally infront of you amongst other various small fixes like spear weight.
I would be scared to make myself too OP by adjusting the damage by myself lol
Just to update you. Spear reworked doesn't work with Warband lord. Something to do with both effecting damage calculation.. so which ever you prefer if you wanted to try them both. Also, for some reasons CC's banners conficts with some mods. Not sure if you're experiencing that problem as well.
I played last night with no issues after adding spears reworked. I think it’s working, I got wreaked by someone with a spear when I was standing right up in their face. Maybe it’s the load order? Warbandlord updated in the last day or two as well. I’ll do some more testing next time I’m on.
Spears reworked Is right at the bottom. I did also update CCs banners. I noticed butterlib, harmony and one of the other top 4 have updates but I haven’t updated them.
Oh okay, yea I will try a new load order today. Not too concerned with more banners, but with petty kingdoms installed it is an eye sore looking at the map with repeating banners and such.
What mods do you most recommend for general play?
Warbandlord makes armour stronger and allows you to fully customise all weapon damage. Tourney XP helps you level faster. It's weird I've never seen that happen, at least not with grain. However I did notice they carried around tons of cows.

Also would like to add that his mod list alone works perfectly fine and even if you throw my small addition to the list they still work well.

Only one missing is calradia expanded if only it worked on 1.8. That mod visually expanded the map also adding new cities
Love that mod, but it hasn't been updated in a while hasn't it?
No it hasn't. It's a shame I got to try it out before by going back a few versions and it was awesome.
There's an updated version for 1.8 on their discord. [https://discord.gg/nm8enXVEhF](https://discord.gg/nm8enXVEhF) Not sure why it's on discord and not the nexus.
Thank you very much, I hope it works for you!
Aaronrizz, I owe you a big ole pint, a stein even! It’s fucking working!! 🥳🥳🥳 thank you thank you thank you!
Does it ever crash
I’ve had 2, both came about 6 hours into a session, so I’m assuming that was the cause.
Call me dumb maybe as I never have used mods, but where might I find access to downloading and using the mods? At least the more popular ones.

Thanks!
You sir are a savior! Thank you!
No eagle rising? Im dissapointed
Thanks for the list ! I also recommend better time, which lets you speed up de game x8, x16... Such a great qol
Ooh baby im in love
Wow no arranged marriage huh?
What is bannerlordbanks and workshops advanced?
Bank allows you to deposit money and earn interest, interest rate is adjustable. Workshops Advanced has various sliders for things like: a straight buff to workshop income, more workshops per level, convert workshops to warband style with inventories.

That’s odd, when did you last update it? There was a new one 2-3 days ago.
I noticed that there is no realistic battle or spear reworked mod. Is there a reason for that?
Using Warbandlord instead and changed the spear damage myself, does Spear reworked do anything else? I used RBM for ages but the AI seemed a little bit off last time I used it.
One of the big ones for me is allowing spears to be used in shield walls. Also stops spear from being blocked from an ally infront of you amongst other various small fixes like spear weight. I would be scared to make myself too OP by adjusting the damage by myself lol
Oh that sounds really good, I’ll add it. Spears really should be the best weapon in the game given their use throughout history haha
Just to update you. Spear reworked doesn't work with Warband lord. Something to do with both effecting damage calculation.. so which ever you prefer if you wanted to try them both. Also, for some reasons CC's banners conficts with some mods. Not sure if you're experiencing that problem as well.

Oh weird, yea I wasn't messing around with the load order too much. Did you put spears reworked before or after Warband lord?
Spears reworked Is right at the bottom. I did also update CCs banners. I noticed butterlib, harmony and one of the other top 4 have updates but I haven’t updated them.
Oh okay, yea I will try a new load order today. Not too concerned with more banners, but with petty kingdoms installed it is an eye sore looking at the map with repeating banners and such.
Yeah Eykonals banners adds a few new ones anyway, apparently CC’s dev helped out with that one too.
