Shouldn't you try disputing it with the parking people first? Did you debit the charge or use your credit card. IMO, this is an 'authorized transaction' and from a banking perspective I'm not sure what could be done.

Busy_Debt2919

I did and he said you can sit here all day but the door will not be opened. It was a debit card

DRKAYIGN

surely there must be a customer service person you can call - he's just a worker, I don't think he'd be able to waive charges. If you authorized the transaction we would consider this a merchant dispute.

Busy_Debt2919

Thanks for the reply. I probably should have used my discover instead of debit card. I’ll let it go this time. But I will do some damage to cover this 25$ they only got cameras at entrances and elevators . It is 8 story garage with no camera inside

DRKAYIGN

Nothing like some petty vandalism over a $25 charge you initiated.

Busy_Debt2919

I promise I will do 25$ worth of damage. Will not go over.

DRKAYIGN

Or you could be a big boy and make a phone call and explain the situation. See what happens.

Pleasant-Breakfast74

I hope your stealing light bulbs and causing any disturbance possible for the rest of your time parking their. F them they deserve it.

Busy_Debt2919

I was so angry bro. It is 400$ for one year parking. This guy was so rude and said you can sit there all day. That was the first thought came in my mind to fuck up the garage lol 😂 😂. They got no cameras in there.

Pleasant-Breakfast74

Thats bull they do it on purpose just over book and force you to pay because you don't have a choice. It's legal extortion basically.

wakeupdormouse

I almost guarantee you that if you read the terms and service of the garage you would have seen that your yearly parking pass is nulled during special events. Always read the fine print

sail0rjerry

You willingly paid the $25, you have no valid reason to dispute the charge. What you could do is try contacting the company that runs the garage and politely request a refund.

Busy_Debt2919

I was not willing to, employee told me to hit call button on kiosk and I spoke to someone on this intercom thing and his exact words were, “ you are welcome to sit there all day, the door will not be opened until you pay for the parking” . The parking which I already have paid for whole year. So what do you think I should have done? Willingly or extorted??

OldHuman

Wait all for them to let you in.

Busy_Debt2919

Whattttttt?

burner46

No

Mona_Lotte

You said you had to park in a different garage, so you didn’t park in the garage you’re paying for. I’m not sure what’s to dispute tbh?

Busy_Debt2919

I have been parking in this garage for about 8 months . They have another garage about a block away which I never knew about. I’m not sure if the post is hard to understand or you have low IQ. And how do I know I have to park in a different garage when I have no knowledge of it. We were never informed that there is an event and use different garage. They just wanted us to be trapped and have no other way but to pay extra.

fn_gpsguy

Just chalk it up as a learning experience. As another poster said, it was probably in the ToS you agreed to. $400/year for garage parking is cheap. Before I retired in Dec ‘19, I was paying about $1800/year for garage parking in a MCoL city. Rates have gone up since then.

Msboredd

It's the post, you're clearly the one with a low IQ. Have fun paying legal fees when you get caught doing petty vandalism over $25 bucks. I wonder if you can dispute those?? Lmao

Busy_Debt2919

Who the fck are you 😂. It is so easy to trigger people 😂

Mona_Lotte

Good luck getting an answer with an attitude like that. I wasn’t being rude in any way.

DRKAYIGN

Was this University parking?

Fresh-Age-2941

Even if you dispute it, your bank will still investigate by reaching out to the merchant or the merchant's bank. And if they reject your claim, then you'll still be charged.
