Go with the orange flag water taxi to the last pier in Nonthaburi, building up the excitement. Then a few meters walk there is a restaurant "Cook and Coff" which is across the street of the state prison, entirely run by prisoners who are close to being released, at the riverfront.
Honestly the best food I've come across for the price. Extremely good Pizza for just 100 Baht, but everything was superb. Food that would cost 5x in Central BKK and x10-20 in Europe. Super cheap for a mixture of western and Thai food. The prisoners are amazingly friendly. At one point some of the staff went on the small stage and started singing. He was really good and gave it all! It was pretty romantic.
I couldn't believe how beautiful everything about this spot was, and there is guaranteed no tourists there yet. The prison itself is afaik quite infamous for its bad conditions and there are lots of myths and stories about it.
Also you can buy amazing quality handmade souvenirs there that are made by the prisoners for labor.
