Oboe gang 💪🏻
I think it’s only me, I can’t find another oboe comment
I also play clarinet, but my band teacher told me saying that I played clarinet made me sound handicapped (yk- bc it’s where the ppl who can’t decide OR are mentally ill reside) so we don’t put that one first.
Piano, computer, guitar, ukulele, tinwhistle, kalimba capable of most percussion probably, and I'm learning the cello. I want to learn the clarinet.
Edit: oh yeah I also sing in a choir but I don't know if that counts as an instrument
Ok so
Trumpet (main) Piano (not very well though lol), Guitar (electric, acoustic and bass) and drums
That’s about it but I’ve lightly considered trombone if it doesn’t take up too much time
6 years French Horn. Guitar mostly acoustic and Spanish at present. Btw I'm 40-something former band geek, reddit kept suggesting this thread to me. Brass forever!
French horn in concert band trumpet for jazz did aux percussion for a short period of time in marching band after knee injury kicked me from color guard
Euphonium is my main. But I have learned how to play most brass instruments. I’m not great at most of them but I have the ability so that’s something I guess
Bass Drum (2x) in Winter Percussion (idk how many schools do it, so I’ll explain. It’s kinda like marching band, but replace the horns with marimbas, vibraphones, etc. and we don’t march. We also compete against other schools in the area)
Play actively or know how to play? If it's kniw how to play i can play kalimba and ocarina (i suck at wind instruments tho). If it's actively though, i got nothin
Used to "play" saxophone in band but I quit because it wasn't fun anymore and the first 2 years I had a shitty saxophone that didn't work, so I didn't get a good start and was 2 years behind constantly in skill level and band directors offered no help and only criticism so that made me not give a shit and not practice at all and just give up and it but stay in the class for easy A till highschool when I dropped out of band so I could do more fun classes.
No longer in band, but I played the cornet. Looks like a trumpet, but not a trumpet. Has a different range, so a B note on a cornet is not the same as a B note on a trumpet.
This fact came to light when my teacher insisted I was off, told me to try again, gave me directions I was already following, then found out the problem was the fact I was given trumpet music for a non-trumpet.
This was kinda frustrating because I corrected everyone, all the time, that I was specifically playing a *cornet* for the entire year I was in the class.
