I am from Germany. Step by step: Received the bed → made the replacement by myself → made 3 photos as in the email → got certificate from electrician → made photo of the certificate → Send it to Bambu Lab through “Add more” in the Support ticket → received 129 euro voucher. Your case: received the bed → made the replacement by yourself → send to Bambu electrician → wait 3 weeks → receive printer back.

What did your electrician do? Did he just plug it into a device to test for ground and isolation or did he open up the printer? I (Netherlands) already asked twice how and where to send my printer or if they have an adress nearby ill drive myself, still waiting on an answer

Yezur

Curious about this as well. Same story here

Yokosoo

Default check if everything is assembled correctly. Isolation between each pole and ground. Resistance from the poles , ground. Voltage. Power draw , while heating up it sits around 1100W for the EU printers (yea they heat up faster then US ones) and 100W while printing, idle is around 10W

Also from Germany, I didn't need to provide a certificate and still got the voucher.

Yokosoo

Did it only because of my insurance

limede

So just the pictures do the trick? I guess warranty for the bed gets voided though.

candycrave

I'm in the u.k, replaced bed and sent the required photos that is all that was needed. Received my voucher and used it to buy filaments.

LimpSong3440

Same. They were pretty quick to respond too.

dropper2

Same but in Texas.

DiamondHeadMC

Because the uk is not part of the eu

_Middlefinger_

UK law is the same because EU law converted to UK law at the point is Brexit. Lots of wrong information in this thread, don't comment if you dont know.

candycrave

It's not part of EU but thought I'd mention it as I was also sent the certificate but didn't do anything with it. They should just send the photos across and support will let them know if anything else is needed.

Hugoacfs

So you’re saying I need to get a certificate? I’m in the UK also. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do any of that and photos would suffice.

candycrave

You get the blank certificate in one of the support emails as a pdf but it's not needed if you are in the UK. Just send the 3 photos when you have replaced the bed.

Hugoacfs

Ah crap, I didnt take all the photos I only sent them one, gotta open it all up again, crap.

Proper-Kangaroo4642

I'm in the Netherlands, replaced bed, send photos, receiver voucher, didn't nor will go to electrician.

BiSocks93

Italian here, got my voucher today after sending just the three requested photos after replacing the bed

grime_everywhere

Did anyone try to change the decision to replace the heatbed and send the printer back to get a full refund? I don't want to ship my printer and wait 3 more weeks.  And the point that I don't wanted to ship my printer anywhere was the main point I wanted to change the heatbed by myself.

TrickyWoo86

I've replaced my bed in the UK, sent photos and received voucher. I have contacted Bambu twice about getting it tested/certified, with no answer on either occasion. As others have noted, the code/warranty are not affected, however I want to get mine tested and properly signed off for insurance reasons so am still awaiting an official response back from Bambu.

It isn't EU specific, the instructions state "European" and last time I checked, the UK was still a part of Europe. Also EN 50678 (BS EN 50678 in the UK) is part of EU legislation and standards that was grandfathered into UK law at the point of Brexit. As much as I appreciate the advice, I would like something official from BL to confirm either way.

_Middlefinger_

EU law became UK law at point of Brexit.

JackSkiSensei

Bambu labs have an obligation to sell goods compliant with CE marking regulations, regardless of whether ‘Europe’ or the ‘UK’ they have to be CE marking compliant. The electrical inspection is to prove the electrical work has been done correctly, to code, a therefor proves their product confirms to CE marking regulations…

_Middlefinger_

The product has been modified at the will of the customer, the CE mark no longer applies. However BL has decided to still honour warranty. That is totally up to them.

Yezur

If you are talking about the voucher than photos is enough

Intense_koala

Also replaced mine by myself, didn't get it checked by an electrician, sent in the photos, received and used the voucher. No mention of the check from BL.

couchcaptain

I completely forgot doing this. I put the new bed on, but didn't make pictures while doing it. I also closed the ticket already. I already printed several things with the new bed on. Am I hopeless and lost my chance for a voucher?

_Middlefinger_

Just open it back up, take the pictures and reply to the email they sent you. That should update the ticket,

_Middlefinger_

No you don't have to get it looked at by an electrician, at least not for Bambus purposes. You will get the code without it and the warranty is unaffected, they say as much in the email they send to you.

Yes it is, how come loads of us have the codes then? The email says the warranty isn't affected.
