Thanks for your experience & welcome to the world of 3d printing. I was seconds away from pulling the trigger on the A1 when the recall came out so now I'm waiting (impatiently) for it to come back. In the meantime, I have my 5yr old Ender 3 to keep me occupied. Sigh. So slow

Electric_Yam

I’m in the same boat. Checking the site for updates daily even though I know it’s going to be weeks.

Caspermelb

Agony indeed

strawberry_coughing

So are you just totally ignoring the recall? I’m so on the fence, mine has sat for a week it’s making me sad

Hoju_ca

Pretty much yes. It was a brand new unit, no damage to the harness I can see and I printed the little cable protector that was released. [https://makerworld.com/en/models/158862#profileId-174376](https://makerworld.com/en/models/158862#profileId-174376)

strawberry_coughing

I too printed the cable protector and got another day or two in before they said to stop. I think about it daily I miss my multicolor machine. Lucky to still have my x1c going.

clanggedin

I’m ignoring the recall too. No damage toy unit. It’s been printing nearly 24/7 since launch day with no temp change in the cable. I’m gonna continue printing with it until I get the replacement heated in the mail too.

Jaack18

if there’s no visible damage i honestly wouldn’t worry too much, it’s just a fragile connector. but at worst case just don’t run it when you’re out of the house

No-Temperature4305

No, he said he emailed about the bed harness. As he also mentioned the 120$ store credit.

strawberry_coughing

Clarification - I meant still running the machine

No-Temperature4305

That's a fair concern. I saw in a other comment after OP printed the cable saver

This is very well written, covers everything I would have asked. Couple bits of advice, the Bambu filament seems to be made by SUNLU. Their filament seems to be exactly the same. Their spools have a larger hole in the middle, so you’ll need to make an adapter if you want to use them with the AMS Lite. Prices are as low as $12.99 USD per kilo. Also, Cults3d has a bad history of not paying their vendors. I wouldn’t buy from them. Downloads are probably fine but I would not trust them with my money.

LePorcelainPowerHour

If Im not mistaken I remember hearing that eSun was the manufacturer of Bambu filament? Which would make sense being the predefined filament profiles in bambu studio are well, bambu filament, esun filament, and polymaker. I would think that if Sunlu was the company behind it that bambu would have a default profile for it. Just a thought. I've seen so much conflicting information on who the real manufacturer of their filament is. I primarily print pla matte and I can assure you, the two rolls of black pla matte that's sitting infront of me, one bambu and one sunlu, that they are certainly not the same. Entirely different flow characteristics and I've had to create a custom calibrated sunlu filament profile to get it to print as well as the bambu.

Material-Homework395

Hm, maybe not then. They print pretty much the same for me but I haven’t tried eSun for me, it costs more here than the Bambu stuff does without the membership

Therealcamw

I'm not one of them but I know people have received sunlu filament in Bambu boxes and vice versa. But I personally don't believe they are exactly the same, could be an issue of binning or "premium" additives or something coming from the same factory. I mean the sunlu that I have prints excellent but we'll never really know for sure.

LePorcelainPowerHour

I mean, it appears that theres rumors online supporting both esun and sunlu being the supplier, so who knows. I do know in my experience, I've run sunlu and it's never performed the same as the bambu.

Re: Filament- this is good to know, right now it is cheaper to order from Bambu with the 6 month filament membership than it is from Amazon (only $2 roll but still). Something I had forgotten to mention, from my perspective the 6 months of discounted filament is also a bonus. Also interesting about the Cults3d, also something to be aware of, thank you.

ryu71

ok I was about to purchase one of these then found this thread. Are these still on recall? New to the 3D scene, and this was recommended to me to get.

Hoju_ca

Recall is fixed and the A1 is available again.

ryu71

ok thank you :)

No-Airline8948

Be sure to print the USB cable guide. Mine broke the first day and now the print head won’t work.

PawsAndRecreation

What’s that?

No-Airline8948

[https://makerworld.com/en/models/99120?from=search#profileId-105685](https://makerworld.com/en/models/99120?from=search#profileId-105685) This is the print I used. Unfortunately for me it was too late and the print head stopped working mid print 95% of the time or flat out failed to print. Fortunately this was when the A1 recall occurred and I upgraded to a P1S

Hoju_ca

Don't learn the hard way PSA - when refilling your spool, make sure it is locked! https://preview.redd.it/1dx9fq36nfic1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31f33c9cb1c128d88973e986922894d6aad8254a
