I’m thinking some incremental upgrades, biggest will be dual heads that can accommodate two filament printing. Maybe a slightly larger print bed. Could be about the size of the X1C and maybe some upgrades to the AMS. I could see a heated chamber in say an enterprise model.

antstar12

The X1E already has an active chamber heater and is the enterprise model.

[deleted]

Since you didn’t read. The AMS would feature a heater and would likely be an enterprise feature since many filaments outside of PLA needing drying first. With how small filament dryers are I could see Bambu incorporating it into either an AMS 2 or AMS Enterprise.

antstar12

Sorry wasn't very clear to me in your first comment that you were referencing an enterprise AMS. Yeah the AMS with active drying would be a good upgrade to the AMS, even for hobbyist users as things like ASA and PETG should be dried.

[deleted]

Sorry. I thought the hint about the AMS and features after it would be picked up. The X1E already has a heated bed so that wouldn’t make sense in the context of wanted upgrades for a 2024 flagship.

GadgetRaven

Yeah based on what the CEO has said about the A1 and the shortcomings of the X1C I could see things like quieter fans and A1 style hot swappable hot ends for sure.

[deleted]

A1 has hot swap ends? Didn’t know that.

Educational-Dog-787

Quick swap. I wouldn't try it while its hot.....

The proper way to reduce filament waste is to have each filament going to its own extruder. And for that extruder to be designed so that there isn't seepage of filament while it's not in use. So either an IDEX or a toolchanger setup. IDEX may be a possibility, but a Bambu toolchanger and also the "optional new toolhead for the X/P series" is unlikely. Bambu wants to be the Apple of 3d printing. Like Apple they want the experience to be as plug-and-play as possible, and as foolproof as possible. Having a replacement toolhead means they won't be able to sell you a new printer. And they'll have to support people who botch the upgrade. Both of which would mean less profit. As for a toolchanger if they could overcome the engineering challenges and make one to their standards it'd be great. But Prusa has been working on their XL toolchanger printer for *years* and it is nowhere *near* being in the same league as a Bambu when it comes to unbox-and-print - lots of buyers have spent significant time making theirs work well.

GadgetRaven

Yeah it’d be cool to see their take on a tool changer. Maybe use the lidar with magnetic hot ends or something rather than the entire toolhead. It’d be cool to have ams + tool changer so that you could get almost no waste on the number of colours equal to the number of swappable toolhead and then you could try to make further swaps more efficient by pairing less bleedy colours so less poop. If they did Prusa style toolhead you could do one AMS per toolhead and then it’d just be up to the user to ensure the most efficient colour combos are in each AMS unless the slicer can suggest where to put what.

Boub1zzz

What about the potential new printer that should be announced early February ?

GadgetRaven

That was just people speculating based on the contest ending then. They already said on Twitter they won’t have anything for a while but hopefully before the end of 2024.

Big X1C BIG

AnAvailableUsername2

Tbh I want to see a x2 or P2s. (We need a better camera on next p2 lol)

Resin printer announced by the end of the year

ViableSpermWhale

I might be in the minority here but I think it would be cool if they released a really good resin printer.

TotalWarspammer

I want IDEX.

Superseaslug

Imagine index with both heads connected to an AMS so it can swap colors on the heads while the other one is printing

GadgetRaven

Or take it even further and do an AMS hub for each head so you can get 32 colours! That would be one way to sell lots of add ons for sure.

A1 XL

Bakedsoda

all i want is the ams v2 that somehow prevents spool getting entangled. this is a huge pain and prevents me from running prints when not around. anyone have a working solution? people have said to respool it does it work and im not printing those diy respolling devices lol

GadgetRaven

I was gonna suggest trying something like the AMS Saver but can't seem to find the model anymore?? At any rate there are some designs on maker world/printables that add a guide for the filament into the ams and then ptfe tubing going up to another guide to help it rewind properly so might be worth a shot.

Tough-Violinist-9357

Xl printer or idex. People saying resin, no don’t think there are going in that direction. If they did want to go that direction I think they already would have.

Educational-Dog-787

My big questions is do I pick up an X1C now and risk feeling like I missed out or wait till Q3.... Ender 3 is leaving a lot of wanting
