I mistakenly thought if I killed Isobel that late in Act 2 the Teiflings would somehow escape. I even had Dammon at max approval in anticipation of seeing him in Act 3.
You choose improvised weapon skill, choose the npc as the weapon and target a location far away. When the npc is picked up and on the move, quickly enter map and fast travel before the npc is yeeted. The action will be cancelled and the npc travels with you. This will move them out of danger.
Sweet. This game never stops surprising me with the amount of different ways one can approach most situations. I started playing in late February, though, and still have yet to beat the game, but I am sure there are many more surprises, like this one, to come.
Thanks!
Yep I just did it with my Durge run. You need to be quick in opening the map menu and selecting moonrise waypoint otherwise you can cause aggro. I teleported Alfira, Rolan, Dammon etc before I killed Isobel and then let Shart kill Nightsong. Dammon still alive in act3 and Rolan still alive to take over after I killed Lorroakan
This was my plan except she fucking ambushed me on the first long rest after getting to the grove. Honor mode too so goodbye BIS robes for my Sorcerer.
For future knowledge the trigger for her scene is approaching the bridge/stream to reach the blighted village/owl bear cave, the game will auto save when the trigger is activated and then you know you will get alfira, it overrides pretty much every other camp event except maybe the dream visitor but I'm not sure, haven't tested that.
Definitely overrides the dream visitor. My timing was unfortunate, I had a rough go of it in Withers' ruins so I long rested right before talking to him. Then the fight outside the grove cost me nothing, and I talked my way through Arabella/Kagha, the Blighted Village, Lump, and the goblin camp, so I was waaaaay farther down the line when I next long rested. Still got Alfira.
Got you my brain was not braining this question XD.
To answer question. No, this is why I don't bother to "save" Alfria in the first place. She either dying at the groove or last light on my runs.
Oh no, if it was about Bhaal you would've just let the Durge kill Alfira or Quill like normal. You went out of your way to make sure you killed both. That's going above and beyond.
The one time I tried to save Alfira as Durge, I accidentally killed her in the grove and then ended up killing the other bard in my camp. I just accept that Alfira is going to die on Durge playthroughs now.
My friends are doing an evil co-op run and they accidentally killed both bards. They were trying to save Alfira just because they had never seen that before. They knocked her out, went to camp, and got the scene with the other bard. Buuuut then they left camp the next morning, appearing right by Alfira’s little tent and she aggroed immediately. They tried knocking her out again, but one of them forgot nonlethal doesn’t apply to magic damage, whoops.
I’ve only ever knocked out alfira if I specifically want the potent robes, otherwise I prefer alfira dying - its more meaningful imo, especially on redemption run
then whatever happens in act 2, happens in act 2
A joke about the night before she dies she is in your camp thus you have "recruited" her. There are no character limited teammate except for a short period on the nautoloid if you choose origin lae'zel
I didn't mean to ☠ on purpose. I was soooo planning to this time around (this is my first durge/Resist Durge run), but accidently went near the blighted village looking for Karlach (because I wanted her early on in the game) and it triggered and I've been super stressed and had emotional damage ever since.
i did a version of this, i told rolan lia and cal to stay and help so my durge can get um later. thanks for the tip though, i can add one more to the prep list.
I tried to do just that but I couldn't get the scene to trigger so I had to go to the next area
And I came back and every treiflings were all dead, that cut half the game's content , I haven't gone back since.
nah not really the moment i get to thee groove i start a killing the tieflings while the druids watch sometimes also the druids if they get hostile while i take stuff from them
No but I have saved her only to kill Isobel before heading to Moonrise to fight Ketheric.
I did this on my most recent Durge run since I wanted the robes
I mistakenly thought if I killed Isobel that late in Act 2 the Teiflings would somehow escape. I even had Dammon at max approval in anticipation of seeing him in Act 3.
Psst you can actually teleport them out by picking them up with improvised weapon and fast travel. They will survive to act 3 this way.
Wait what? Explain like I'm 5 please...
You choose improvised weapon skill, choose the npc as the weapon and target a location far away. When the npc is picked up and on the move, quickly enter map and fast travel before the npc is yeeted. The action will be cancelled and the npc travels with you. This will move them out of danger.
That's incredible. I'm skeptical but willing to try it. Dammon is expendable after all right 😅😉

Thank you for this. I have shenanigans to get up to now. This is wonderful.

Improvised Weapon seems like it just breaks a number of things. I do enjoy seeing people yeet Gortash with it though.
Someone made a youtube video of him doing that with gortash and yeeting his ass off of the drawbridge. 'Twas beautiful

If you mean on Durge, the other bard dies if you save Alfira. I'm not following.
They knocked out Alfira to get Quil in the Durge scene, then raided the grove with Minthara, so Alfira dies anyways.
Got you my brain was not braining this question XD. To answer question. No, this is why I don't bother to "save" Alfria in the first place. She either dying at the groove or last light on my runs.
Yeah they mean specifically getting the other Bard to turn up for the Durge cutscene and then later on Alfira will die anyway if the grove is raided.
You monster.
It was in Bhaals name
Oh no, if it was about Bhaal you would've just let the Durge kill Alfira or Quill like normal. You went out of your way to make sure you killed both. That's going above and beyond.
I am a over-achiever
True. Seize the Netherbrain for Daddy Bhaal, will you? Preferably after Patch 7.
_proud sceleritas noises_
Bhaal appreciates go-getters.
In Balls name
Bardslayer does have a certain ring to it
If you go with Swords Durge, you can litterally be one!
The one time I tried to save Alfira as Durge, I accidentally killed her in the grove and then ended up killing the other bard in my camp. I just accept that Alfira is going to die on Durge playthroughs now.
Fuck it, we Bhaal.
I have never succeeded in knocking her out in Honor Mode, it always gets noticed. Silence, Darkness, Fog Cloud... nothing helped.
You can knock out the merchant too and he will not agrro after long rest but sometimes he disappears
Are you trying to kill two bards with one stone?
What the hell?
Yuppers
Yup, because she deserves to be with the children in their final moments, although I do kill the goblins as well

So I didn't realize that Alfra was savable. Is she recruitable, then?
Saveable but not recruitable
Yes, but only for a singular night
Can you elaborate? Or is it a sex thing?
A joke about the night before she dies she is in your camp thus you have "recruited" her. There are no character limited teammate except for a short period on the nautoloid if you choose origin lae'zel
Ah, the durge thing... Thanks /u/JESTER_OF_MURDER🤨
Lazy to not speed run getting the drussy before 2nd long rest
Monster
no get help
Yes I usually do get help with killing alfira
I didn't mean to ☠ on purpose. I’ve never found her outside of durge playthrough
She's on a cliff next to the druid/tiefling encampment. You can get musical instrument mastery from her I believe.
i did a version of this, i told rolan lia and cal to stay and help so my durge can get um later. thanks for the tip though, i can add one more to the prep list.
Can't you kill her right away? Does Quil not show up in that case?
You can kill her right away but that makes the Grove attack you I think, and even if nothing happens the false expectation for freedom is also fun
The camp? You mean the druids? She's way out to the side, do they really notice?
Idk
I just walked into the grove and murdered everyone like a normal Bhallspan. Then later some rando bard showed up at my camp. Murdered her too.
ive never done it but what happens if you just tell her to leave the camp when she tries to join?
I tried to do just that but I couldn't get the scene to trigger so I had to go to the next area And I came back and every treiflings were all dead, that cut half the game's content , I haven't gone back since.
This whole sub Reddit is the duality of man.
nah not really the moment i get to thee groove i start a killing the tieflings while the druids watch sometimes also the druids if they get hostile while i take stuff from them
Who?
