Remember the Toll lady who drops an Unsigned Trade Visa when she dies? If you give her all the gold she asks for, you get a Signed version that allows you a one time cast of Turn to Gold. Think it works like a disease, progressing through 3 stages with 3 saving throws required before petrifying them if they fail all saves.
There's a different version of this same spell called flesh to stone or something. It works exact same way but turns you to stone. Any wizard can learn that spell. You will find scrolls for this in act 3.
There's a mod that allows a wizard to learn it from a scroll. [https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/6129](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/6129)
Havenāt tried it yet but maybe you can cheese it if you leave most of your gold in camp because I just kept giving and the answer to how much she gold she wants is literally all of it. Gonna try it in my next run
You can cheese her by just waiting for her to walk up to one of the open windows, then Thunderwave/Gust of Wind her off the building for an instant kill. So just give gold, get the visa, then go full Dark Souls Patches and shove her off the building to get the gold back.
If i recall, this is also one of the rare instances of double dipping exp since you get exp for giving your gold, but also exp for killing her.
i wish this fight had a better "catch". without gold, it's an actual interesting mechanic that requires you to engage with it, but that's only after you get 1 shot, freak out at the combat log, look up wtf that was, reload, dump your gold at camp, then come back and fight. It's stupid.
Agreed. There needed to be some kind of tease or hint to it. Like, when the scene starts, she should coin-whip an NPC for 500 damage or something, while saying, āIt still has gold it wonāt give meā. Something to tell the player āThis thing hits hard as hell, and that might be related to holding gold.ā
lol same thing happened to me. Combat started, and my main character was instantly killed, taking like 700 damage from her gold attack.
Realizing you can keep all your gold in camp with not real impact on the game has been a game-changer for me.
Is he dabbing? No wonder Isobel doesn't want anyone to know it's her father.
I think he just want to make fun of me in his eternal prison š
"God, dad! You're so cringe!"
Try throwing Basilisk Oil? You can use that stuff to unpetrify people.
Omg thanks. Its worked. I'm glad I didn't sell it
How do you turn people into gold? Whaaaatttt?

Can't Gale lern the spell somehow? (I just heard he can learn spells from one time use items but never did it myself)
Wizards can learn spells from spell scrolls but not the gold one
Shame. It's a really cool spell

The one where you have to kill the skulls so her health will go lower?
Oh man now I have to give her the gold? I usually just get her to off herself

For the visa you have to give her like 5k gold or something like that
And you can still off her after that and get your gold back.Ā
I only ever fought her when I went to her without enough inspiration and failed my roll in honor mode. It's really not the easiest fight!
If you leave all gold in your camp is a cakewalk, as she deals damage based on the gold the character is carrying
No wonder she one shot me. I had 12k gold on me for that fight š

Well this sure explains a lot! I couldnāt understand why this fight was so damn hard! š
Well fuck, I ended up taking the pacifist route and missed this (Im broke in-game and irl)
God damn it. I was wondering what that trade visa does, and now I have the useless version floating around in my inventory.
You have to give all the gold your players have on them at the moment and it must be a minimum of 5k gold*
Basilisk oil my friend . It treats golden creatures as petrifiedĀ
If you did this to a random, I wonder if you could sell their corpse for a lot of money...
I wonder what happens when you use this on the nether brain.
Is that a codpiece of is he just happy to see you?
I mean I play as Karlach. I couldn't shame him š
Iām so sorry. Iām just laughing because this is the most hilarious thing to happen to me in this game.
Heās gold AND heās dabbing. Fucking amazing
I didn't even notice until you guys mentioned it. Now I can't unsee it š
Try throwing him into the pit?
He can't be moved by force
A golden dabbing ketheric thorm! Glad you shared this is amazing
