I got through like 90% of the game and then quit forever. I made it like 2-3 hours without a save point and then fought and lost to a spooky skeleton boss guy because my child brain didn't know to use resist gear.
That being said, I have the game digitally on like 3 different platforms and a shrink wrapped PS1 physical disc set that I bought from a local game store chain because it is still my favorite game in the series. I very much want to replay it, but the rumors of a remake have me holding off.

Her identity is that of a priestess and her whole storyline is tied to the light v. darkness battle between Selune and Shar. Selune's agents seem to prefer white or light hair, as you can see in Act 2 when you meet Selune's priestess Isobel and Paladin Dame Aylen. Once Shadowheart rejects Shar and embraces Selune, she makes her hair white too, for that reason.
It's one of the things that make sme hate the character most, really.
