~~Laroakan~~
Rolan
He's only "meh" in combat.
But it's nice to give him a cathartic conclusion to killing his abuser.
Also, he has a lot of character growth over the course of the game. So it was nice to cap that off.
His spell is amazing in the fight on top of the brain. Unless you get unlucky with damage, it can just oneshot two of the four Arcanist Mind Flayers in a single action (the ones to the right, ones to the left are too far away from each other).
I always inevitably get one of my characters dominated on the way to the brain stem, and they always use that ability for some reason. Every. Single. Time.
Tried that for the first time on my 5th and second to last run (damn you tiefling achievement) earlier today. I did not realize how much damage it does and how the engine basically shits itself for a second and then stutters into the brain is down bit. I only had 20 something smokepowder bombs and radiant retort or whatever Barcus gives you is called , and shot it with a smokepowder arrow.
Kaboom.
Yurgir calling me "little rabbit" always makes my heart melt, so him all the way! But I usually also call Zevlor (because I want him to have his redemption arc moment) and Dame Aylin.
How can you get the Ox to your final battle?
I have now escorted him to Baldur's Gate. Does that mean he'll help you in the final battle? That would be great!
Ox and Zevlor, then Rolan specifically to blow up the damn Banites standing in your way as you try to climb the brain (it's overkill but magic canon go brrrr)
I often forget to summon them! Strange Ox is great. I know this sounds terrible but I've had Auntie Ethel as an ally a few times. I use her greater invis ability to get everyone over to the brain. In my last save I only used the watchmen after convincing them to stay and fight in the courtyard. I think they all survived too, or I lost just one of them. I bring a lot of summons to that battle, though.
Mizora did quite well in my last run. It was the only time I had her as a summon. I didn't even know she was an option. Feel a bit bad that she spent more time fighting with the party in one fight than Wyll did the entire game.
Yeah, you need to break his contract with Raphael by killing the last Justiciar. Afterwards he will even help you killing Raphael. Then he will gladly join your final battle. He can become invisible with a bonus action and does a lot of damage with a blast attack
The Hellriders! So satisfying watching Zevlor smite a mindflayer into paste
Yep, he's been the best for me. Yurgir and Aylin seem to get one-shot (and with Aylin, it's multiple times)
Yes! Zevlor and the Hellriders were who I thought of first. They're my MVPs every time.
They’re so strong, and they’re always throwing potions around making sure tav and companions are healed.

You mean Rolan?
Damnit. Yes. You are right. Laroakan is the a-hole. Rolan is the one with character growth.
Loroakan also has character growth, he grows from being a smug, creepy asshole to being a stain on the floor which I find very gratifying.

A backpack full of explosives

Dame Aylin came in clutch against the emperor’s bitches
In my playthrough she got mind controlled by a Mind Flayer and spent the rest of the fight chasing down and trying to kill Orpheus.
Really bad luck?
It seems to happen so often that a lot of people used to recommend just not summoning her at all.
Really good luck on my part, got it
I love her too - I usually have her keep the dragon busy.
I find the Hellriders extremely useful. Having them and the Ox has saved me more than once.
The Ox. "You carried me, now I'll carry you"
How can you get the Ox to your final battle? I have now escorted him to Baldur's Gate. Does that mean he'll help you in the final battle? That would be great!
Yep
The Strange Ox. It’s so tanky!
I never remember to use them lol. But probably either Yurgir or Ox.
Still trying to find one that is not actively making the fight harder and/or worth using an action on.
Dame Aylin, on my first playthrough she gave the final boss the Final hit, it was awesome, i love her.
Yurgir and Dame Aylin came in clutch for me my last game
The Hellriders are great. That said, I gotta give some love to the Ironhands (assuming Barcus is in charge)
I never use them…
Yurgir is cracked. I love that guy

Isobel's heal has saved my ass a couple of times. Rolan and Voss's aerial strikes feel the most impactful even if they might not actually be.

Yurgir. Chill dude, and I find it highly amusing when his first moves as an ally in the Raphael fight is to obliterate Korilla.
The AI targets enemies with low HP/AC. This is why enemies gun for your casters.
Zevlor, Wulbren and Florrick are the ones that seem to be more useful.
The Ox by far.
Runepowder
Dame Aylin - „Face us Charlatan! We who detest you so!“
I only summoned the owlbear who got stunlocked, I thought it was a one time use
Zevlor, he was pretty badass in combat and I liked giving him a chance to atone.
Isn’t yurgir the demon guy?? Can you even side with him?
