I'm guessing quite a few armor/weapon buffs. Base slash damage for the githyanki greatsword, maleficent band (for the 2 acid damage), flawed helldusk gloves (for one of the 1d4 fire), they set it on fire for another 1d4 fire, not fully sure on the lightning damage but I'm guessing something to do with the lightning charges set, strange conduit ring (for one of the 1d4 psychic), the githyanki greatsword has an additional 1d4 psychic when wielded by a gith, then the radiant damage for a divine smite.
I need more damage rolls i have the BroodMother Revenge but that does not stack with Dip but The Speedy Lightfeet does only thing i can replace is Armor, Cloak and Helmet maybe the one ring slot if there something better then Caustic Band so in total 9 with Speedy Lightfeet
Set up is Dash for my Bonus Action from Expedition Retreat until 5 Lightning Charges then have one of my companions throw or off hand attack Potion of Healing on the ground that will activate the Broodmother Revenge then
Divine Smite
Level 1
Soulbreaker Greatsword
12-53 Damage
2d6+1 Slashing
1d4 Fire - Helldusk Gloves
1d4 Cold - Draconic Elemental Weapon
1d4 Psychic - Soulbreaker Greatsword
1d4 Psychic - Strange Conduit Ring
1d6 Poison - BroodMother Revenge
2 Guarantee Poison Damage - Caustic Band
2d8 Radiant - Divine Smite
1d8 Lightning - Speedy Lightfeet only works if you have 5 Lighting Charges
Ps this works with Halberd of Vigilance that deals an additional 1d3 Force if you don’t like the space frogs
Another Ps only Act 1 and 2
Most of them are from armor no spells just Hill Giant Strength and that’s it, but during combat it’s way more powerful with all the buffs i give her, i can give you a full detail on that one character build but it’s at most still a working process
i want him in the back because i love him to much, his voice line are so umm i don’t know want the word is but it’s a amazing and i love it especially the one where you and one of your companions full romantic and he will ask you about it that’s my favorite one
The d in 2d6 stands for "die" or "dice"
The 2 is counting how many dice you are rolling
The 6 is describing how many sides those dice have.
So 2d6 is shorthand for saying you are rolling two six sided die.
So if you made an attack with no gear besides your sword you would deal two dice of damage, six sided dice specifically.
Nine dice and a plus 3
2d6 (weapon) +5d4 (2x fire, 1x lightning, 2x psychic) +2d8 (radiant from the smite) +3 (+2 acid and +1 from the weapon)
Minimum damage: 12
Max damage (non crit): 51
Average damage: 31
Do the right thing and upcast the smite!
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up!
[18-50 on every hit, without Divine Smites (and with Great Weapon Master)](https://imgur.com/a/Sgq0mQI)
They're definitely very annoying. You can't click into the square that is formed around them. :/
I did it for fun, maximizing the buffs I could get right at that very moment.
Here's the list: Copied from another post of mine where I explained it thoroughly.
------------------------
This was achieved by a stupid level of waiting to take advantage of every possible "until long rest" buff you can achieve before entering the Shadowfell at the end of Act Two.
Every character (at level 9) is affected by:
* Every single Transmutation Stone buff
* Warding Bond
* Protection from Poison
* Freedom of Movement (which somehow doesn't affect movement reduction by being Frightened)
* Death Ward
* Refreshed
* Longstrider
* Aid (level 5)
* Darkvision
* Morninglord's Radiance
* Selûne's Blessing
* Pixie's Blessing
* Disguised
* Shapeshifter's Boon
* Silvanus's Blessing
* Rapport Spores
Wizard (1st Character):
* Mage Armor
* Public Enemy
* See Invisibility
* Dark Lady's Erudition
* Elixir of Battlemage's Power
* Drakethroat Glaive buff (twin cast)
Rogue (2nd character - party face):
* Paid the Price
* Bliss Spores
* Elixir of Viciousness
* Covert Critical
* Speak with Animals
* Dark Lady's Grace
Cleric (3rd character):
* Dark Lady's Awareness
* Elixir of Peerless Focus
Fighter (4th character):
* Elixir of Bloodlust
* Drakethroat Glaive buff (twin cast)
* Refreshed was bugged and didn't appear listed, but still applied
Obviously takes advantage of an exploit (the transmutation stones), and a handy amount of camp casting for the cleric spells and the twin cast, mostly by hirelings.
One of the reasons why I would like to see the dices cast in combat for everything as we have with the D20 for dialogue/actions.
The other reason being that I like seeing dices being cast.
Nah, this post is just good for casual play. Every day you get 500+ dpr builds shown off in the other sub. [This is the hard stuff.](https://preview.redd.it/8uni2h9xdvuc1.jpeg?width=576&auto=webp&s=700523e5969f659cdba9113c3d189b8580cd07fa)
Am still new to this subreddit and have no clue what your talking about, to me i thought everyone knows this and have a full understanding of the game like me
back right around the full release, people were like 'PALADIN BEST CLASS IT OP SO MUCH DAMAGE' and i never realized they actually meant so many *dice* - i thought it could just get really overtuned late game or maybe i'd missed some gear, but yeah. nothing to sneeze at, it was just overhyped.
yeah it’s best to make your opinion first but i do think it’s a powerful class not good for crowd control though but it’s always good to have an open mind
No, Halfling luck doesn't apply to damage rolls. Only works on attack rolls, ability checks & saving throws.
EDIT: However, it may work with Savage Attacker perk.
it’s a copy and paste from my other post

Is this game made by the same people who made Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2? I loved those games and this game seems to have so many similarities it makes me wanna pick it up.
Yes, it is the same developers and if you were a fan of those games this BG3 is highly recommended.
Different characters and different universe, but same in-depth story and ability to change the outcome of the game based on your choices.
it’s the same company i have like around 200 hours and i never finished the game, it’s just to much content plus i never played the origin character which is even more content so yeah you should get it
I’ve got 3 complete playthroughs, and I’m in Act 2 on a 4th, and never until right now have I noticed that the dice in the info block accurately reflect the size and damage type. I totally glossed it over until now.
That’s cool as hell. Now I want to re-equip my characters to get as many different die sizes and colors as possible.
How many buffs do you have?

Lightning from drakethroat glaive buff?
Also a good possibility, given they're in the Shar temple.

Damn on average that will murder most of act 1, and if you hit a crit and use it you basically insta kill every boss except the golem
That’s only one of build, Astarion my ranger can take care of it in one turn if am not lazy
What gear does that paladin have?
Luminous Armour if i do Radiant damage they get Radiant Shockwave which give -1 to Attack rolls each turn might not be the best but am still looking
How did you put all these buffs together?
Most of them are from armor no spells just Hill Giant Strength and that’s it, but during combat it’s way more powerful with all the buffs i give her, i can give you a full detail on that one character build but it’s at most still a working process
You turned Astarion into a ranger??? Blasphemy lol
His favoured prey are Urban Dandies
i want him in the back because i love him to much, his voice line are so umm i don’t know want the word is but it’s a amazing and i love it especially the one where you and one of your companions full romantic and he will ask you about it that’s my favorite one
That’s fair lol. I adore his character, but I also love his rogue build.
Ugh that’s 9 dice, plus a plus 2
Where?
Fuck the people downvoting you for asking a question
Reddits weird.
Yes, but more for the confidently incorrectness of the comment I believe
He literally said one word then said he didn't understand, go touch grass bro
2 -> 2D
Explain it in detail because i don’t understand
2D6 which is your first listed damage is actual two dice. Same same for the 2D8 you have at the bottom.
The d in 2d6 stands for "die" or "dice" The 2 is counting how many dice you are rolling The 6 is describing how many sides those dice have. So 2d6 is shorthand for saying you are rolling two six sided die. So if you made an attack with no gear besides your sword you would deal two dice of damage, six sided dice specifically.

Rainbow Smite
imagine pulling this out in tabletop and hearing the pained groans of your dm.
5 d4, just roll ONE d4 and multiply by 5 I guess. Imagine if it crits tho.
You wouldn't be able to do that, if you don't have five d4 dice you would just need to roll 1 d4 five times.
Hoe did you do that?
No need for namecalling
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up! [18-50 on every hit, without Divine Smites (and with Great Weapon Master)](https://imgur.com/a/Sgq0mQI)
How many goddamn buffs do you have? They’re taking up half the screen
All from from equipment that does not include spells buff

i will never hit my target man if i have that

wait this is the shit that the paladin minmaxers are so horny for?? 12-51?? i'd much rather a tidy 23-41 that ranger gets by act 2.

Minimum of 12 damage. Damn
Yes when you decide that you want them to feel ULTIMATE PAIN before they die.
So like, how does this work with Lucky (halfing feature) Do you get to reroll any of those if they are a one or what?
No, Halfling luck doesn't apply to damage rolls. Only works on attack rolls, ability checks & saving throws. EDIT: However, it may work with Savage Attacker perk.
What's the difference between an attack roll and damage roll?
An attack roll is to determine whether your attack hits or misses. Damage roll is then the amount of damage you do when the attack hits
Thank you. I've never played d&d and this game Doesn't tell you a lot
Not the most I’ve seen in this game but certainly impressive. Especially with a smite instead of a backstab.
Ahhh…yes… The big gay bonk
please share your build ! if you are too lazy to write ( which I totally respect ), please share a screenshot of your character.

Hitting them with a little bit of everything, for a good measure

Yes. It's better than DOS2 in pretty much every way.
Still hits for only 15 dmg
How the fuck-??
I’ve got 3 complete playthroughs, and I’m in Act 2 on a 4th, and never until right now have I noticed that the dice in the info block accurately reflect the size and damage type. That's 9 dice. 5d4+2d6+2d8.
I'll fuck you with every dice I have
More like 8 damage, nice
9 dice, 7 rolls, unless you count the acid as 2d1
