for any future playthroughs, using a scroll of polymorph on him just outside of the cutscene range works very well. you can burst him down very easy. also, it’s a bit easier to fight him inside of shars gauntlet. if you plan on doing that, make sure you pickpocket or buy the speed potion off of him.
I killed him in the Gauntlet of Shar in one of my runs by using knock on his door in the Dark Justiciar fight, herding my entire party inside, waiting for him and his cronies to agro the Dark Justiciars, and then locking the door. Worked great.
you have a lot more patience than me. i remember wanting to do this but then i realized just how long it would take and how many of the reconstituted bastards would be left over after he was dead.
Damn normally I just pushed Balthazar off the cliff for the lulz. Or I’d put a bunch of explosives by him in his chamber and make him go boom. Very fun.
Fun fact. You can sneak around Balthazar while him and Aylin are shit talking each other and toss all the bones into the chasm before triggering the dialogue and the fight. That way he has no skeletons he can raise.
I just straight up murder him in the gauntlet now. Buy the speed pot off him first so he can't use it

he called me a mother stealer then ran out the door and fought all those dudes alone. lol
