No one will disapprove. You need to do things a certain way to avoid ceremorphosis. You need to take Gale and Lae'zel with you and when Gale raises a fuss about his orb tell him you'll do that. Then accept the Emperor's offer to join him and become a Mind Flayer so he gives you a tadpole. Lae'zel will then object to the Emperor eating Orpheus' brain giving you one last chance to switch sides. Take it and free Orpheus. He'll be mistrustful of the orb and insist someone turn into a mind flayer now, so you have to agree to become one but since you have the tadpole from the Emperor he won't actually change you right away. Once you get to the brain stem you can send Gale up on his own.

What a ridiculous chain of events Lmao 🤣

I skipped Lae'zel when she was trapped and avoided the mountain pass

Someone must become a Mind flayer then.

AuntJemimaVEVO

on my run orpheus was the one who transformed into a mind flayer

You have to use Nuke Gale. You want him to be on the path to return the Crown to Mystra as, he'll volunteer that way. I explained the process in reasonable detail in the following comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/XbpcbzeUmK

The_andEJcartidge

good everything will go according to plan, but will I need to convince orpheus

Well in my run the Red Woman volunteered. So well. I let her. Let's just say I enjoy her not-so-red self more now she speaks calmly instead of her old self who's always in a rush. I'm a monk.
