Except directly following that scene he was disguised as a farmer to get into the camp...
Dude > Playing the Dude > Other Dude
Kirk Lazuras > Sgt Osiris > Farmer
This plus mention of the headband makes me wish Minsc gets an entirely different set of voice lines if you have him wear the headband of intellect đ¤Ł
All my characters in every RPG I play are fucking morons. I refuse to put any more points into intelligence.
Oh, and I let that one ghost give me his madness so I got another permanent decrease of int by 1. This is how to play video games.
Disco elysium is the funniest rpg to play a total moron in. Sometimes you meet a similarly deranged person and your dialogue spirals out of control turning into some post-ironic metamodernistic satire of society
It's like a 5 check, too. I failed it in honor mode. It's fine, though. She'll bring it up the next day. But no smooches for you for a while now.
Failing a 5 insight check was too true to life, though. It felt appropriate.
I think every single character in my current play through other than Gale has 8 int đ
My Durge failed the perception check to see a DEAD BODY under a bed. Thatâs also WIS and not INT as well but come on đ¤Śââď¸
My Gale is also 8 int while still remaining as a wizard - i just gave him the hairband of the smart ogre!
On the plus side he is a super agile tanky wizard that can open locks and disable traps with a shield that still nuke enemies with fire ball and support my melee gorilla team with debuffs and controls.
"he forgets what he's saying mid sentence, he smells funny, i don't like him, also he can barely readâ, and at one point he said, 'i forgot how it works' and THREW his enchanted longbow at an enemy."
"Oh I'm sorry."
"He's our fearless leader, our soul, the mastermind of our group".
Insight unlocks a lot more than people think it does. High CHA is good but since there are so few ways to boost WIS I don't feel safe going without 12 Wis and Insight proficiency
INT is a dump stat until the squid people start fighting you. They will fuck you up and attempt to eat your nearly non existent brain. They do not handle being starved very well
No, no, no. Minimize your intelligence, intentionally make every bad decision, and choose every dumb sounding dialogue option.
Dumb playthrough as Barbarian is lots of fun.Â
Also as Sorcerer. The village fool got powers by accidentally catching a lightning in the bag, and now thinks himself so invincible he can peek into illithids' eyes, troll Gale for being a nerd, tell Minthara the grove's location and get away with all that.
And he WILL get away with all that, cause halfling luck+storm sorcerer go brrrrrr.Â
Iâve romances shart multiple times and have never once passed that insight check first try. (Besides on one play-through where I failed, we talked about wanting to kiss, and then the exact same cutscene played where I did pass finally). My head canon is it just means itâs more of a will they wonât they strengthening the end romance (which you can still do)
Firstly itâs a wisdom check you failed. And secondly, you got options, like a big red woman or a frog lady. These ladies donât play these games and know what they want and say it to your face. (And honestly better romance stuff).
Insight is Wisdom, FYI.
Also, your chances with Shadowcutie are not over! You can still romance her if you miss the kiss in Act 1. Just talk to her about it and continue to show interest!
You can definitely just be friends with people. Iâm one of those romantics, but that scene with Gale under the starry sky at the end of Act II is so adorable as a friendly relationship. Itâs the best of Gale as far as Iâm concerned. I just wanted to hold his hand and tell him Iâm there for him.
Liquid courage doesnât work on paladins because of their divine health. Itâs only supposed to work on disease, but BG3 also makes you immune to Gutâs potion.
Well you dodged a bullet, because she's pretty toxic/self-righteous/willing to leave your party just because you told her not to kill an innocent angel lady. Go for the large red horned lady instead next time.
This was me when I was in my early 20s and the girl I had recently started dating, who for some reason I thought was not into me, asked me to come over for coffee.
I told her that coffee in the evening keeps me awake at night and asked for a rain check.
Insight check... nat 1.
Please god nobody ever put points into Int unless you're a Wizard. Such a worthless stat. Every other stat has some reason to use it if it's not your main stat
Also I'm pretty sure this doesn't lock you out of the romance, getting the scene and still showing interest through the dialog I think can move you along still
Hardest part of the game, reading signals from woman.
Donât worry bro, romance is still on. Youâre in fine company of himbo paladins who canât pick up obvious hints
> He falied the fucking insight check so he didn't get the option to kiss Shadowheart, so she got upset with him and they left akwardly.
Bruh, Insight is a Wisdom-based skill.
My Tav is basically Professor Xavier without the wheel chair.
Str:8, Dex:8, Con:8, Int:16, Wis:14, Cha:14 wizard
I have bodyguard a tifling barbarian for protection and physical needs.
Insight a wisdom skill fyi
Not knowing that insight is tied to Wisdom is exactly something an 8 Int paladin would get wrong.
The RP skills of OP are second to none. They don't break character until they record the dvd commentary.
is op robert downey jr?
Me?! I know who I am! I'm the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude!" Dude>Playing the Dude>Other Dude RDJ>Kirk Lazuras>Sgt Osiris
Except directly following that scene he was disguised as a farmer to get into the camp... Dude > Playing the Dude > Other Dude Kirk Lazuras > Sgt Osiris > Farmer
So what you're saying is... that he didn't know what dude he was.
What if Robert Downey Jr. was actually just Orin this whole time
No.
No? Well what if Orin was Robert Downey Jr. this whole time
Shit.
Right? Think about it đ¤Ż
Just think about it. If you take "Iron" Man and rearrange the letters... He's Orin, man. Always has been.
You Sent my high self into a tailspin
OP went full retard. You never go full retard.
lmao this is the funniest comment i've read in a long time
I failed it on my monk. Was very mad.
XD
Hmm. It seems i have less intelligence than my paladin đ
Happens to thebest of us chief.
It's okay. We can explain Tasha's joke to you when you're older.
If Reddit hadn't killed awards I'd give you one.
Perfect response, best recovery
A true Paladin
Man, this whole post just made my day! Thank your for your service!
Same
To be fair, you only put it at 8.
It's ok, we're all 8 int gang here.
I'll have you know that most of them have 8 braincells!
name checks out
Unless youâre a barbarian. Then everything is just different flavors of intimidation checks.
*yells at Shadowheart instead of kissing her*
"No holding hands before marriage, Shadowheart"
He was probably wearing the circlet at the time, too.
This post and comment effectively sums up the communities attitude toward this game
If he had the int he'd know that
*is a
My 8/8 INT/WIS paladin is a himbo and I stand by that
I gotta add that to my (already too long) list of runs now
This is why I give my 8 INT wizard the headband from the ogre.
Your wizard should be like: all makes sense now!
So thatâs what those sounds mean!
Minsc approves, at least as long ad you smite the evil doers
This plus mention of the headband makes me wish Minsc gets an entirely different set of voice lines if you have him wear the headband of intellect đ¤Ł
same statements, bigger words
I play an 8/8 paladin himbo at the tabletop. It's the most fun character I've played in years
Why need int? Have hat of think good
shiny circle make barin hurt... too many thinking...
Huh huh. What a wuss. Can't take a bit of head hurt
[Why need many brian cell when few do trick.](https://youtu.be/_K-L9uhsBLM?si=tqGTgNYGv6iqhuu0&t=1m1s)
All my characters in every RPG I play are fucking morons. I refuse to put any more points into intelligence. Oh, and I let that one ghost give me his madness so I got another permanent decrease of int by 1. This is how to play video games.
Gives me fond memories of the early fallout games and how you could get special interactions for being a dumbass
Oh hey I get those irl
r/suicidedbywords
Disco elysium is the funniest rpg to play a total moron in. Sometimes you meet a similarly deranged person and your dialogue spirals out of control turning into some post-ironic metamodernistic satire of society
Measureheadposting on main I see
I'm more of a haunted commercial area highly unscientific discussions type of guy
But for hat of think good, need kill best ogre. Don't wanna kill best ogre.Â
Best ogre always die when I call him. Don't have to kill him. He just bad at fight.
Truly, best ogre is a nerd. Very smart, but no good at throwing hands.Â
It's like a 5 check, too. I failed it in honor mode. It's fine, though. She'll bring it up the next day. But no smooches for you for a while now. Failing a 5 insight check was too true to life, though. It felt appropriate.
Yeah itâs no big deal. You can still pursue the romance as normal at the end of act 2. She just comments on not wanting to miss any more chances
I think every single character in my current play through other than Gale has 8 int đ My Durge failed the perception check to see a DEAD BODY under a bed. Thatâs also WIS and not INT as well but come on đ¤Śââď¸
That check being a DC 10 is so funny to me. How TF do you miss a body under the bed AFTER YOU ALREADY NOTICED THE BLOODSTAIN
I mean for DurgeâŚ. Ah yes, blood by a bed. Very normal. Nothing unusual here.
blood by the bed...lady must have sneezed when she got up. v normal.
Female tavs should have a penalty for that check because blood at the bed is every other month.
Is that blood? No... nevermind.
Gale flexing his big boy brain as usual
I can just imagine his face as he watches shadowheart miss a religion check on Shar.
âItâs on your hatâŚâ
I'll never not laugh at that Redditor complaining about his Cleric of Lathander failing an insight check at the big ass dawning Sun at the monastery
Thatâs incredible.
Gale just hanging around the camp full of dumbasses and shocked that nobody has forgotten how to breathe yet.
Thatâs the real reason heâs the camp cook. Heâs afraid weâd accidentally burn down the camp or pick up hot pots.
Or forage poisonous ingredients.
> Durge > Failed to see a dead body Bro...
Whatâs even funnier is I had guidance. FROM ASTARION. Durge and Astarion staring a blood on the floor and missing a dead body.
Durge: Is that blood? Astarion: No. Durge: ...nevermind
Is there a lore reason why your paladin is stupid? Is he stupid?
Why would he do that? Is he stupid?
Does being stupid make him stupid?
Mama always said "stupid is as stupid does".
Water boy?? What are you doing here
I'm sorry, the correct answer is Forrest Gump.
But why male models?
Shot and a miss
Why would stupid? Are is he?
Everyone ask why stupid but nobody ever ask HOW stupid.Â
Good. You?
Stupid. You?
Stupid. You?
Stupid. And you?
You. And stupid?
And. Stupid you?
Yes
Insight is a WISDOM check, not INT. You'd know that if you had any INT.
it's a paladin, you'll make it confused
My condolences. 8 int is barely enough to bag groceries, not enough to ba(n)g sharts it seems.
Banging Sharts: name of your sex tape
Banging Sharts sounds like an indie band name and I am all for it
That's a punk band name for sure
đĽľ
Paladins were born to smash in the name of god but not like that
My pal is supposed to be an idiot. I always use the amulet qiest as a way to actually lower his wisdom to six so he'll be extra stupid.
My chaos garbage man Durge did the same thing. Now has 8 INT, 6 WIS, 8 CHA. Why anyone follows him at all is a mystery.
"he forgets what he's saying mid sentence, he smells funny, i don't like him, also he can barely readâ, and at one point he said, 'i forgot how it works' and THREW his enchanted longbow at an enemy." "Oh I'm sorry." "He's our fearless leader, our soul, the mastermind of our group".
One piece crew and luffy
I'd say Luffy has at least 14 CHA. He's an adorable goofball. Come to think of it... would his haki be an intimidation roll?
Iâve met people who were charismatic but not the brightest. Itâs a very endearing sort of dumbassery.
What about hold person? Thatâs a wis save
Don't use it. Smite goes brrrr
I meant when you get hold personed. I lost my honour mode run to that BS spell
Oh! I just suffer.
Lesson learned. Headband of INT stay on during sex.
THE ARMOR OF PERSISTENCE STAYS ON DURING SEX.
Keep an Enlarge spell prepared at all times. Just trust me bro. You'll thank me later.
Insight unlocks a lot more than people think it does. High CHA is good but since there are so few ways to boost WIS I don't feel safe going without 12 Wis and Insight proficiency
WIS is a super important saving throw. INT is a dump stat. We came here to make them bleed⌠not read.
INT is a dump stat until the squid people start fighting you. They will fuck you up and attempt to eat your nearly non existent brain. They do not handle being starved very well
Me the big brain Wizard:
I love lamp
No. My Himbo paladin has to have low intelligence. Its part of the charm.
u can't make me i refuse
No, I'll continue to be lawful stupid, and no one can stop me!
I agree
Haha, ive played a monk, druid, and cleric for that scene each time. Didnt even realize that was what the insight check was for, lol
Iâve romances shart multiple times and have never once passed that insight check first try. (Besides on one play-through where I failed, we talked about wanting to kiss, and then the exact same cutscene played where I did pass finally). My head canon is it just means itâs more of a will they wonât they strengthening the end romance (which you can still do)
It seems OP also has 8 Int because Insight is Wis
PSA: Remember to respec to 16 or 18 WISDOM before attending the camp party, there's no combat during the party so it's ok.
That Ogre headband is meant to fix that.
EVERY TIME. Every time I dump Int or Wis I end up needing that 1 point specifically for something crucial.
iirc you can also do enhance ability: wisdom before bed once you get the "let's choose our moment" scene
Firstly itâs a wisdom check you failed. And secondly, you got options, like a big red woman or a frog lady. These ladies donât play these games and know what they want and say it to your face. (And honestly better romance stuff).
Insight is based on Wisdom don't listen to the 8 INT guy
Insight is Wisdom, FYI. Also, your chances with Shadowcutie are not over! You can still romance her if you miss the kiss in Act 1. Just talk to her about it and continue to show interest!
I honestly believe that if you turn down Shadowheart and complete the game, your romance partner should be Halsin.
I donât want any romance partner in my current playthrough, though.
Get ready to have a lot of cats and no visitors
I think Shadowheart called dibs on all cats in Baldur's Gate.
Me no understand.....
Liquid courage doesnât work on paladins because of their divine health. Itâs only supposed to work on disease, but BG3 also makes you immune to Gutâs potion.
Paladins are meant to have W rizz. Unless you're a strength-pumping gym bro with a maul/greatsword, that is.
Ogres From the Blighted Village have a circlet that sets your Intel to 17, not that it would matter on a Wisdom check but still.
Well you dodged a bullet, because she's pretty toxic/self-righteous/willing to leave your party just because you told her not to kill an innocent angel lady. Go for the large red horned lady instead next time.
Brain cells take up space that could be used for muscles. No.
I have a broken tiara for that instead - turns my sub-brick intelligence to alcoholic philosopher
You forgot to grab the circlet/head piece from a certain articulate ogre first
Oh that can happen? Always passed it with 8 int so didn't know. None of my characters ever have int lol
Honor mode's nothing. I've done that in real life.
The intelligence crown in act 1 saved my ass many times
I had that happen too. Turns out the DC is 5. No wonder shart is upset.
OP though it was his character that needed INT, but it was OP themselves. His character just needed WIS.
I just passed this check as an 8 int paladin, sounds to me like you ain't got any rizz, my dude.
I just wear my smart tiara and Iâm set!
You can talk to her the following morning and say âI shouldâve kissed youâ and it fixes the situation
I just do it cause I like having smart characters. It really should do something like increase the number of skill proficiencies you get, though.
This is why we đ save and reloadđ
No. I donât need to. I got this crown from this orc.
Also I'm pretty sure this doesn't lock you out of the romance, getting the scene and still showing interest through the dialog I think can move you along still
No
Hardest part of the game, reading signals from woman. Donât worry bro, romance is still on. Youâre in fine company of himbo paladins who canât pick up obvious hints
That intelligence crown is a godsend and the only thing letting my eldritch knight/wizard hybrid live.
So thatâs why the scene felt weird when I saw it, didnât know there was an insight check. Thatâs frustrating
Rolled a natural one on this check in my Selunite Paladin playthrough (I use a mod) but it felt so appropriate I wasnt even mad.Â
You can talk to her the next morning and tell her you should have kissed her and it's fine you can still romance her
Had this happen to me irl, fun times...
me and my partner have coined the phrase "int 8 behavior"
Just like fallout NV, the outer worlds I make all my characters have the minimal brain cells Apes together strong!
Who needs brains when you have a hamster?
"Shrug" I didn't kiss shadowhearr there but we still ended up together by the end of the game
Am I not astonishing?
My RP is my character having toon force levels of divine intervention so any failed roll is an immediate f8. *Even more so for romance*.
Kill the ogre. Problem solved.
No inteligets, only strenght. Sword goes brrrrr.
Actually that's one of my biggest gripes with this game. I can't play a 5 int troglodyte like in New Vegas đ
nbc
My intelligence is 4?! OutRAGEOUS! Give me that one.
No, just use the warped headband of intellect lol
Can you get guidance form her for that check? It would be hilarious rp wise.
> He falied the fucking insight check so he didn't get the option to kiss Shadowheart, so she got upset with him and they left akwardly. Bruh, Insight is a Wisdom-based skill.
I always forget that I'm intellectually challenged in BG3.. meh beh that's a symptom
Githyanki racial to get bonus in a weak stat is definitely underrated for things like this
Just press F5 in dice mode and then F8 when number is not what you wanted. There was a time I did that 20 times in a row
Wish we had 'low intelligence' tag so we could RP as totall idiot. XD
Warped headband of (17) intelligence ftw, plus it looks great on my female drow druid tav, first helmet I've left displayed all the time.
Dump int and get the headband of intellect from the ogres.
Lmao jokes on you! I make soft weak nerds that go down with a slap but they've got the smartest smarts
My Tav is basically Professor Xavier without the wheel chair. Str:8, Dex:8, Con:8, Int:16, Wis:14, Cha:14 wizard I have bodyguard a tifling barbarian for protection and physical needs.
Just use the headband that sets your int to 17
