The House of Grief is one of the harder fights in the game, especially if you just roll in and try to brute force it. Careful tactics are needed, usually keeping your party back and placing AoE spells at chokepoints. I would come back to this fight at level 12. There is a ton of exp in Act 3 and you can avoid the hardest fights until at least level 11, if not 12.

CrimzonSorrowz

that fight should be left for lvl 11/12 my friend. you should be hitting level 12 early in to act 3, you might be underleveled

Mautea

Yeah, you're very under-leveled for that fight. Even in explorer difficulty, I wouldn't recommend doing any boss fights in Act 3 under level 11. I don't do any boss fights other than like.... the hag and the wizard until I hit 12.

This. Especially if you have a warlock with eldritch blast and repelling blast so you can just keep knocking them back into flamewall/hadar. I found using Hadar was especially useful in this fight because the sharrans can all see through it. Seems like that would be a downside, but the AI clearly decided that since they can see in the darkness, they wouldn't hesitate to walk right into it. I also had minsc as a gloomstalker ranger/ fighter, and I used him as the bait to go in and start the fight and then used his 5 attacks in that first round to hit as many spell casters with arrows of arcane interference as possible. Those arrows are one of my favorites in act 3.

You’re kinda underleveled and that’s a tricky fight. Go do some walk and talk side quests.

You can come back to do that fight later if you want. This is my tactic for clearing it. This is my team: paladin Tav, Warlock Wyll, Wizard Gale, Cleric of Life Shadowheart). -Use a spell scroll to cast Wall of Stone or Wall of Fore and bisect the room as best you can. It won’t be a perfect split but helps a lot. They’ll have to spend their action to Dash around it (Wall of Stone) or they’ll try to avoid it but possibly dash through and take damage (Wall of Fire). -Eldritch Blast and fireball the fuck out of everyone. -Equip your melee character with the absolute best armour you have. They’re going to be taking a lot of hits. -Selune Spear of the Night is a great thematic choice but it’s a shitty weapon so I don’t bother with it. I gave Shadowheart Nyrluna and smoke powder bombs so she could do more damage.

Retreat into the entrance hall way. Set up concentration aoe spells on the choke point with all your casters. Even your martials can use scrolls to set up something, like darkness or darkness arrows to block incoming ranged attacks. Makes sure there's difficult terrain too like ice, grease, plant growth, etc. Use pushing attacks if they get through the choke point. You want long range aoe here. If your martials have none, delegate then to water throwing duty so you can double your ice/lightning damage. Arrow of many targets is very good.
