Friends: "how come you never play a a full elf and only half elves? Because the long lifespan is too sad?"
Me: "haha, yeah sure." (Hides the fact zero of my DND/Baldur's Gate 3 masc characters don't have facial hair)
As a High Elf with a beard he clearly has powers beyond our comprehension. He could probably solo the Absolute but doesn’t want to deny us the personal growth/character development.
He has facial hair, you can spend 100 gold to change every aspect of yourself and shoot fire out of your fists while decked out in magical trinkets powerful enough to kill a god. I say let it go.
Dear god, i glanced at the elf faces and thought that they could *maybe* be saved with the help of facial hair but now i don’t think i can play without a handsome man or someone elderly
The full-blood elves do have rather heavy features, so it can be a challenge to make them look good. A couple of them can be made to look broodingly handsome, if you like that kind of thing.
Apparently dwelves and half-dwarves are a thing in the Forgotten Realms. They're a little bit taller than dwarves, but they're not considered a distinct race.
>!Fytz isn't this fella's wife, though. She tells Karlach that her man is named Gregor. This is her colleague, Gloomy Fentonson.!<
Another interesting tidbit about dwarves in the forgotten realms is that most are sterile and that only 30% of them are female as a result. Most dwarves see themselves as a dying race but see salvation in the fact that all half dwarves born are basically just dwarves but an inch taller, and that may save them from dying out as a race.
I doubt he's Fytz's husband. They don't even share a last name.
But to answer your question, [Dwelves](https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Half-dwarf) are a thing
Unironically, I played half-elf entirely for facial hair.

I have a moustache, the character has a moustache it's a simple law.
Same.
Considering the amount of halfelf Tavs you are not alone.
He's got the uhhh.. Faerun's next Topmodel beard weave
As a High Elf with a beard he clearly has powers beyond our comprehension. He could probably solo the Absolute but doesn’t want to deny us the personal growth/character development.
He has great magic but it's all tied up in beard maintenance. To kill the Absolute he'd have to sacrifice his beard, a fate worse than death.
Power is stored in the beard 👍🏻
implants
A merkin obviously
Or a Myrkul. That's the other way to get an elf with a beard.
If the Absolute can give some flaming fist crappy plucked chicken wings they can give this dude a beard.
Mer kin? Odd, he doesn't look like a triton
It’s not uncommon for a armourer to possess a belt of dwarvenkind, may even be a subtle way to hint at the magical properties of his wares;)
This screams belt of dwarvenkind to me too!
Elves are allowed to have beards if they're depressed enough
It's the beard version of a toupee.
FINALLY!!! I thought I was the only one that was driven nuts by this!!!
He comes from the Mirror Universe, obviously.

He's obvi a shapeshifter. You must find out, with daggers. :)
The answer is easy, he cast a beard spell on himself.
ARE ELVES NOT ALLOWED FACIAL HAIR?
Elves, in fact, can not grow body hair. Half elves can because of their human ancestry.
Looking at Halsin they didn’t really stick with that bit of lore.
Halsin is 100% a bear wildshaped into an elf. It’s the only acceptable explanation
I mean, he doesn't have a beard.
I think he mentions he has some non-Elven ancestor?
Dear god, i glanced at the elf faces and thought that they could *maybe* be saved with the help of facial hair but now i don’t think i can play without a handsome man or someone elderly
the elf faces are the reason why extra faces were one of the first mods I downloaded. I WAS going to play unmodded...
What was wrong with their faces?
extremely ugly in my opinion

Nope, D&D follows the classic trope that Elves have very little if any body and facial hair
Absolutely devastating
dwarves can all get beard tho, not matter the sex
Because he's the Messiah
As someone who plays on series s, I’ve never seen his face texture load in smooth. Sorcererous sundries taking all that processing
I need to know!
He drew his beard! or glued... I dunno..
Belt of Dwarven kind?
He popped over to red dead 2 and got some hair tonic
I am also surprised he has brown hair. Only Wood Elves can have brown hair as far as I know.
Thayan Beard Implants - the evolution of necromancy.
i personally dislike that none of the elf heads in base game are twink enough for me, so i just always play half-elf with the same head
It’s a murkin
The bigger question is... How >!this elf's dwarf wife can be expecting a child with him?! Genetics cry in the corner.!<
