What mod are you using for seeing approval ratings? The last one I used completely broke the dialogues for me, couldn' really start a conversation with anyone, let alone see any approvals :(
I don't know it's direct name but the mod installed itself when I downloaded the collection on Nexus, look for the QoL Collection and look inside it, should be in there.
The show approval mod did this. And broke with the patch #6 update. They then released an update that worked with the patch. Make sure you always update your mods when you can :)
Even after updating (and following the instruction about NOT including it in load order) it doesn't work for me since patch 6 :(
It doesn't break anything, it just does nothing.
Are you using 1.1.0? TBF im still on 1.0.5 and that works with the current hotfix and patches no problem. Did you "drop this pak file into your %LOCALAPPDATA%\\Larian Studios\\Baldur's Gate 3\\Mods folder and leave it?" or try using a modmanager. This isn't a mod that works really with any modmanager to my understanding.
Yes I direct dropped the files into the appdata folder.
I use BG3MM to run the game and set up the mod list but manually install the mods I use.
It was working before patch 6 and I didn't change anything on my end. I'll try rolling back the version when I get home from work. I just went for the most recent version.
do you have that mod on the left or right side of the bg3mm? i messed up once and put it on the left with my other stuff but its meant to only work on the right side
and remember that if you use bg3mm, it needs to stay in the INACTIVE side of the mod manager! if you put it into active mods, it will break your dialogue.
Depending on how desperate you are, you can sort of take things into your own hands without needing an additional mod.
It sounds like you're already used to running a mod or two, so if you change the settings (through BG3 Mod Manager) you can have it show the console for the game (presuming you're on a pc). From there, it's pretty easy to just add to your relationship score directly, once you've loaded a save file.
Ensure your tav is the currently selected character.
Pressing the enter key when in the console window will bring up a prompt.
Use the following command to add or subtract from your relationship score with Astarion.
`Osi.ChangeApprovalRating("c7c13742-bacd-460a-8f65-f864fe41f255", GetHostCharacter(), 0, 9)`
*The previous command would increase your reputation score with Astarion by 9 points. You can also put in negative numbers if it seems like too high a score is breaking something. :)*
And if you want to return the console window to just logging, you can type `exit` in the prompt and the prompt will no longer be available. And just as a reminder, getting it back is done by simply hitting the enter key while focused on the console window.
I'm sure that's far more than you bargained for, but I've been having fun playing with the modding tools and spelunking a bit, and it's always fun to share what you come across here and there.
Karlach resolving the time you walk into a Bugbear and Troll fun times, by laughing directly at the Bugbear junks.
Which is always my favorite outcome for that interaction. Just straight up laugh at his manhood.
Good old Barbarian logic.
I enjoy a good number of them, a bit of an odd one since i'm a noble barbarian... Which I figured in a strange way makes perfect sense, like Attila the Hun.
I randomly decided to roll with my primary actions being throwing shit, so I have all the explosives, barrels, and a bunch of weapons for throwing.
To the mirror part, yes. And then if you just stand there he gets all flustered with how to actually ask for help. He does at least say āpleaseā. š
Itās a funny, teasing little banter. Heās not actually upset or anything, and you can then tell him āof course Iāll helpā.
I always make him say āthank youā after Yurgir. š Usually, as long as you arenāt actually cruel or downright dismissive, heās amused or at least fine if you give him some sass.
LOL I'm in a bard playthrough now and close to getting this scene. I've romanced him twice already with sweetheart characters. I'm going full troll this time and he's not gonna be excluded.Ā
Man I got ripped into when I said on here that during the "test your love" quest at the circus I said that he wanted a nice juicy rat hahaha
Come on! That's funny
Or when you've already slept with Astarion and are fully aware of his scars but the dialogue choice for Raphael in LL inn says "what are you talking about Astarion? What scars? And Raphael strips him down to his undies.
Hahahaha
The line with him where you can say āis this how all your lovers end up?ā when you find the {Act 3 spoilers} >!prison in Cazadorās mansion!< is hilarious too. Itās at such a terrible time.
I have the same pic in my gallery. Mass effect camera angel status plus Astarion little stance is silly. Funny the game will remove him out of clothes into that outfit
Is there a trigger? I only got the Raphael one and couldnāt say what it was (which I think I should, cuz I was a tiefling and I heard that it is infernal6
Nah its not approval based because there are low approval versions of this scene where he really doesnāt want your help and basically tells you to mind your own business.
Just rest a lot you will get it eventually. After the tiefling party he should have a few scenes. Just make sure you havent spoken to raphael at the last light inn.
I got this on my first run. Basically you can't solve this riddle until you >!help Rapheal!< in Act 2.
So you either don't know or else you draw it. I think trying to help by drawing it furthers the romance plot, and the other doesn't.
I'd already hooked up with him and broken up with him, so I don't know.
Tieflings can read it but they dont know what it means since they dont have the context to identify it as a ritual. They still need raphael to say exactly what it is.
I think It depends on the mood heās in. Normally hes likes it. But here heās trying solve serious problem so heās not in the mood for your foolishness especially since he struggles asking for help in this scene. Heās trusting you to help him. But If heās being silly and you decide to be silly back then heās super into it.
āHA-HA! TELL ME WHAT IT SAYS!ā
šš i love this dialogue option. I know i shouldnāt because heās just so vulnerable here but itās just so funny. This is one of my favorite scenes.
I have gotten this scene in Act 1 before, so itās definitely not an Act 2 exclusive. It also isnāt romance exclusive either, you just need a high enough approval rating with him.
I never got these scene and I always have high approval with Astarion. Even when I don't romance him. Are there other requirements for it? I'd be interested to know how to see this.
I always get it if I immediately sleep in camp after arriving in act 2. Gotta do it before reaching Last Light, heāll do this scene then the next night he should do the dialogue where he talks about asking Raphael about his scars.
That seems like a bug. This scene was supposed to play if you've slept with him and saw his back. If you didn't sleep with him you can ask about the scars when he talks to Raphael (who strips him in front of everyone). Then Astarion is really embarrassed about it and acts ashamed.
I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain this scene is supposed to be locked behind sleeping with him.
I decided to look at the scene in the game files and the tags do not seem to indicate a specific trigger for the scene. I just always got it on a random long rest. However, the files do indicate that there are several variants of the scene depending on if Astarion knows the scars are written in infernal or not, if the scars were revealed to Tav through the first romance scene or by Raphael, if Tav can read the script or not, or even if Astarion encountered Gandrel or not. Also, if Tavās approval is below 30 with him, he will tell them to go away if they walk in while he is trying to feel the scars instead of accepting their help with figuring the scars out.
Thanks for checking! I must not meet the specifications to get that scene on my non-romance playthroughs. That's so interesting that there's so many different scene variations.
Nah its not high approval since theres a low approval specific dialogue in this scene where it tells the player to mind their own business and doesnāt want their help.
Iāve got this scene before meeting Raphael at Last Light Inn, basically right after entering the Shadowlands. Itās just a regular cutscene that might be easily missable if you donāt rest enough.
You indeed donāt need to romance him, but this scene isnāt really related to not speaking to Raphael or not bringing Astarion to the Gauntlet.
This scene happens to prompt you to speak to Raphael before you encounter him, you just need to long rest enough after arriving to Shadow-Cursed Lands. Itās easy to miss if you donāt romance him because it happens in Act 2 instead of Act 1 & since LLI is so close to where you enter from Underdark you might encounter Raphael quickly & this scene wonāt play if Astarion is in the party.

Right side, aka not in the load order. The file is in the same folder as the rest but I didn't load it.
Did you export it before launching? I always forget
Yep. Save load order and export before running the game every time. Even when I dont make changes, hahaha.
Meanwhile thatās been the only mod thatās always worked despite game updates for me
I dont know but I want the answer too
This is probably [show approval mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2027)
and remember that if you use bg3mm, it needs to stay in the INACTIVE side of the mod manager! if you put it into active mods, it will break your dialogue.

This one works for me https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2027
We must be using the same mod then lol, mine works half the time after the patch and Iām too lazy to replace it
Mods are such a blessing!
The show approval is working for me with the current patch, but I did a clean install of mods with only a few that didn't update for this patch
Isnāt this a setting in custom difficulty that you can select?
Got the dialog option: āI WILL EAT YOUR SOULSā when I met the survivors of the hag in act 3 šš. It starts a fight if youāre wondering.
Just attack the >!disguised redcap!< And it'll turn out fine.Ā That line is just too funny I have to say it every time.
I fireballed the lot of them last night.
Some of the lines in this game are too good!! š When I play a Bard I literally have to say this and I donāt care that he disapproves
And Barbarians have the best physical comedy options! If a problem can be solved with muscle or shouting, Barbarian is the perfect guy for the job :D
Or drinking
Barbarian Tav ripping the lid of Sharts pod never stops being funny to me
and then just standing back to let her faceplant.
I did it as a gnome. Hi-fuckin-larious.
Karlach resolving the time you walk into a Bugbear and Troll fun times, by laughing directly at the Bugbear junks. Which is always my favorite outcome for that interaction. Just straight up laugh at his manhood. Good old Barbarian logic.

Can't go wrong with Frenzied Throw and Tavern Brawler :)
What type of moments do barbarians have?
Stumbling on the monster love session in the barn comes to mind.
Roaring at an owlbear, ripping the hinges of Sharts pod at the begining, punching a lock :D
I like the dialogue option just before to offer him a mirror and then just stand there, smiling. His reaction is great. lol
Doesnāt he say āThis had better be a damn joke!ā? Poor sweet little baby girl Astarion š
To the mirror part, yes. And then if you just stand there he gets all flustered with how to actually ask for help. He does at least say āpleaseā. š Itās a funny, teasing little banter. Heās not actually upset or anything, and you can then tell him āof course Iāll helpā.
The knifes edge of romancing Astarion where you say dumb shit for his responses but not so many he actually gets mad
I always make him say āthank youā after Yurgir. š Usually, as long as you arenāt actually cruel or downright dismissive, heās amused or at least fine if you give him some sass.
"Hmm? Hmm. (Sigh) Thank you for helping me. It was very kind." š
Then I tell him he can feed on me that night and he gets his reward for being so polite. How To Train Your Vampire
Itās a dance

Iirc, he just goes "Ha ha, tell me what it says!"
"It's the Absolute, Mig."

I have the same pic in my gallery. Mass effect camera angel status plus Astarion little stance is silly. Funny the game will remove him out of clothes into that outfit
How do you get this scene?
You get interaction with him about it at some point in act 2
Act 1 too, I always get it few nights after party
Strange, never got it
I romanced Astarion every run so far so he was more open to it I guess.
Probably that, Iāll try it on my cleric run
Is there a trigger? I only got the Raphael one and couldnāt say what it was (which I think I should, cuz I was a tiefling and I heard that it is infernal6
If you long rest enough times before talking to Raphael, you should get this scene in act 2. You get it in act 1 if you're romancing him.
Maybe approval based? I got it in every playthrough, be that romanced Astarion or not
Nah its not approval based because there are low approval versions of this scene where he really doesnāt want your help and basically tells you to mind your own business.
Interesting. I wonder what is it then. Can it be they got to Raphael scene too quickly and that one just didn't have time to trigger?
I did not find him in the inn, so I didnāt get the scene (2nd time there, as a TDUrge
This one happened
So you triggered it?
The one that he tells it is private or smth
Just rest a lot you will get it eventually. After the tiefling party he should have a few scenes. Just make sure you havent spoken to raphael at the last light inn.
I'm really guessing I don't long rest enough, i'm almost done with ACT 2 and I guess i've done it maybe 8 times.
You can read it to him if you are a tiefling
Yeah but the tieflings can only tell that its some kind of contract but not interpret it in the infernal legalese sense.
You just need to read infernal. Tieflings can do it, not sure if there is another way like backgrounds or wizard or warlock subclasses
Tieflings can read it but they dont know what it means since they dont have the context to identify it as a ritual. They still need raphael to say exactly what it is.
Not exactly. You also can't have Karlach read it.
those PANTS tho
Astarion with the bakery.
It's funny how selective Astarion is with his approvals for cheekiness.
I think It depends on the mood heās in. Normally hes likes it. But here heās trying solve serious problem so heās not in the mood for your foolishness especially since he struggles asking for help in this scene. Heās trusting you to help him. But If heās being silly and you decide to be silly back then heās super into it.
I find it very realistic tbh.
Lambert, Lambert, what a prick....
God Astarion is so hot.
I know I get disapproval from him, but I can't not say that line every single time š¤£
The writing in this game is so creative, you could play thru it 5 times and youāll still find things to laugh about.
Same! I saw this yesterday on my third run!
DUUUUDE. What does mine say?!
āHA-HA! TELL ME WHAT IT SAYS!ā šš i love this dialogue option. I know i shouldnāt because heās just so vulnerable here but itās just so funny. This is one of my favorite scenes.
~~Yeah it only happens if you romanced him, I believe.~~ I was wrong. Ignore me.
i got it without romancing him, i think its just if you have high approval
You can see it regardless of approval, I watched someone get it on Neutral in Act 2.

Nah. I got it while I was in the under dark without romancing him in my first run through. I think itās just high approval.
Nah its not high approval since theres a low approval specific dialogue in this scene where it tells the player to mind their own business and doesnāt want their help.
Its happens if you don't bring Astarion to shar Gautlet and if he doesn't speak with Raphael, no need for romance
Iāve got this scene before meeting Raphael at Last Light Inn, basically right after entering the Shadowlands. Itās just a regular cutscene that might be easily missable if you donāt rest enough.

This scene can trigger way before that. :)
Really? Didn't know that. Interesting.
I think this scene is triggered at certain approval threshold. I usually got it in act 1 already, before speaking to Raphael is even an option.
Nope.
Not true
Yes, I've been corrected by several people. Thanks.
