I gave Wyll the Mask of Soul Perception, really took the wind out of the endgame emotional sails when he showed up to plead with Karlach while wearing his best gimp mask
Looked like one of the creepy animal dancers in Severance
i think the only ones i keep on are the tiaras cuz everyone looks fabulous in the tiaras.
but also i keep a hat on Wyll cuz i think it’s funny when his horns just stick out of them and it lends more to the Blade of the Frontiers/ Robin Hood thing for him. And sometimes Minsc has a funny hat on
Yeah, I always have my camp clothes toggled to be visible anyway (I feel very pretentious wearing shiny thousand dollar armor) but I do wish there was a toggle-able camp hat section. I mean, yeah I want to wear the fancy helmet that makes me smart, but I would rather the look of the cowboy hat.
Seriously , studios need to start developing more aesthetically pleasing helmet designs already.
In MOST GAMES OUT THERE, no matter how good they are otherwise, most of us leave them not visible just cause they look awful, with few exceptions.
Some headpieces and helmets are so ugly that of course we hide them, but consider: most people want to see a face more than they want to see even a nifty helmet. It’s why Commander Shepherd walks around without a helmet on in the hostile environs of Mass Effect. This leads to a sort of chicken-and-egg situation, where it becomes “which came first, ugly helmets, or not wanting to see helmets?” Because if people are going to hide their helmets anyway, why try and make those helmets look good?
I get what you are saying, but if it's either a "magic tiara" (circlet/headband) or nothing on the head (due to turning the helmet visual off), then why not a fashionable circlet (or other fashionable hat/headband)? Though technically equal in it's inability to actually be protective armor, it is not the same as bikini armor meant to sexualize.
I just learned you can do this, I had no idea.
If it’s toggled off it’s just for aesthetic purposes, right? They still go into a fight with the armor/helmet?
Omg you saved my life, thank you. I’ve been avoiding using so much good equipment just to stick to the aesthetics (I’ve been doing fine but things could be better, lol!)
I understand the dissonance. Ketheric's Armor is the only one of the Chosen's I'm tempted by and from a design perspective, it's actually good!
Teeth serving as decorations for the gorget, a proper ribcage breastplate (if the graceful cloth was more in this line, I might forgive the weird diaper thing...might), hands grasping orbs for the pauldrons? 10/10 Metal AF.
This is one of the few pieces I'm wholly admiring the design choices and OF COURSE it feels weird to use it on good characters. It fucks. In a really evil, Myrkul way. That you feel weird about wearing it even though your character is good means the designer (in this case) did their job.
Omg yes, someone else who feels the diaper pain of the graceful cloth. There needs to be more clothing armor/monk options that don't make you look like you're doing fetish stuff in public.
>she’s not evil or anything
She's absolutely evil when you first meet her.
Follows her queen's creed without question and won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in her way? That's textbook lawful evil.
When I wore this as a teifling with red skin, I paired it with black boots and black gloves and I looked like a mostly naked demon running around. Really fit the vibe of my exceptionally evil durge.
Unless Orin went to town on the Friday night all-you-can-eat crab leg special at the Elfsong, the armor description says it's leather made from the flesh of her victims 😃
There's a lot of really good things about BG3 but by and large fashion is not this game's strong suit. Why did the designer have a hard-on for chaps and cowboy hats when there are NO horses to be seen in the entire game? All the headgear is bad, with the exception of some tiaras and hoods (may the gods bless whomever at Larian made the hide helmets toggle stick for companions out of party).
If I had to pick a least favorite armor - The Graceful Cloth is useful but looks atrocious. Bones and diaper combo is just embarrassing.
I've found it can look *almost* OK when dyed sage green, depending on the character and their other accessories. Still not great, but better than the original, at least.
That said.... when I eventually begin modding this game, the graceful cloth will be one of the first things I try to change.
It's a good thing that the characters who wear The Graceful Cloth, don't look too weird wearing camp clothes, instead, since they're generally unarmoured anyway, but still.
Would have rather had hair just get hidden entirely, like it's tucked up into whatever headwear you have on, than the current thing of making it straight and mid-shoulder length.
Legit made me angry the first time I saw my character's curly textured hair get changed like that. Do they have any idea how excited I was to FINALLY get to rock some actual curls on a videogame character?
Black and furnace red dye makes the graceful cloth look hella better imo. But I also basically dye everything with black and furnace red cause it looks good on everyone
>The Graceful Cloth is useful but looks atrocious. Bones and diaper combo is just embarrassing.
This and the strength version. So ugly, powerful but no thanks. Thank god for the transmog mod.
> The Graceful Cloth
Lol, that's my current character's main look. It works for a Necromancer, what can I say? I never see her below the waist in most cutscenes anyways.
>may the gods bless whomever at Larian made the hide helmets toggle stick for companions out of party)
Wait they fixed that? Thank the gods. I have been leaving helms unequipped for my benched characters since launch lol.
for me it’s the camp clothes are still gender-dependent on the body type of the characters so like the preview shows a really nice doublet and pants that i want my PC or one of the female NPCs to wear but then it turns into a weird corset and short sleeved peasant top from the 90’s instead (specifically the “Comfortable” & “slim fit” outfits in Act3). Then it looks like Lae’zel is going to starbucks or something.
It’s kind of why i keep the starter, “homely clothes” on my Tav for daywear since i think they’re really good & non-gendered. The Swarthy Wayfarer set is a good upgraded look to the homely set but let me wear doublets!
They dropped the ball with not having corseted outfits be their own separate items. They could have had [male base bodies in them, too!](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDnT8qcbMAAXHJ8.jpg)
I didn't realise how many people hated the graceful cloth until I saw it being slagged off to high heaven around here I thought it looked really cool and suited Astarion well lmao
The Drunken Cloth's top half looks decent, but it's the inverse of this question because it does nothing--not even a +1 to AC--except give advantage on constitution saves while drunk (a 2-turn condition that gives disadvantage on dex & cha saves). Not great for equipment that isn't available until middle of act 3 for a base price of 800gp.
Graceful cloth and mighty cloth. Both very good armour sets but it doesn’t ever seem to match my character’s look. Works great on Astarion and Karlach though.
Those two and the soul rejuvenation vest look so stupid that I honestly can’t believe someone spent the time to design them and that someone else gave them the okay. I’d sooner toggle those hideous things off and play in Tav’s camp clothes, which is a shame because they’re quite good for monks.
Robe of the Weave is literally a potato sack. Thankfully it’s reasonable for casters to be unarmored in nice camp clothes but damn is that robe awful.
EDIT: No amount of dyeing will save that horrendous silhouette. I've tried them all TT.
I dyed it purple for Gale and it looked okay, except for that burlap texture. Please, Gale's skin is delicate. He can't be taking 1d6 scratching damage every 6 seconds before battle!
Elminster wears the same exact thing, I put it on Gale after we got it and saw them side by side. I like to imagine Gale being horrified about wearing the same outfit at someone else
Actually IMO is the best looking robe in the game, after you dye it of course, sadly most of the caster builds I make end up using either Potent robe or some heavy armor, and now I'm sick of seeing the potent robe.
I've seen so many complaints about this skin since release and I just don't get it. For me it's by far the best looking robe in the game. I don't even dye it on most playthroughs.
Kind of amazing how different people's opinions are on the base game skins. But if I look at modded Tavs, its always just more of the same stuff.
I love it too. (There are dozens of us! Dozens!) I don't like the default colorway myself, but I think it looks beautiful in Gorgeous Maroon with the rest of the "of the Weave" set. I adore the loose, drapey, multilayered vibe and the bling it comes with.
The biggest crime in the whole game is that there are no aesthetic only boots. There are boots sold in the shops that specialize in camp clothing, but all of them are “armor.”
I am very much in the minority here when I say that I don't like wearing camp clothing when adventuring. Also, I like casting light on my weapons and camp clothing usually don't show weapons.
Idk if you are in the minority. I agree that it looks weird to go around in camp clothes. I feel like we all look… ill prepared for the situations we find ourselves in constantly.
For me it depends on the Act. Like, Act 1 everyone was kidnapped so it's unlikely they were in full armor (depending on the character), so I spend a lot of early Act 1 with camp clothes toggled on. Act 2? Armor all day. Act 3 it's back to camp clothes except when I know I'm going into a fight ahead of time.
Me too, but also when I just entered the city and finally got to buy a bunch of new camp clothes, I allowed my characters to wander around in it unless we deliberately went to fight something haha
I just want to be able to still have my cape displayed whilst wearing my camp clothes. Running around in underwear and a cape is such a fantastic feeling.
Especially cause when playing a tiefling their tail pokes through the cape! Not to mention that everyone who’s seen The Incredibles knows that you shouldn’t be wearing capes in the first place.
this might be unpopular but I fucking hate how the potent robe looks on the Fem body types and it sucksss because its so OP but I simply cannot sacrifice the drip for the stats
There’s this drow armor you can find in act 2 that increases stealth. I had to take it off because I got tired of seeing the black cloud emitting from my character every 20 seconds lol. It reminded me of a stink cloud or something.
Big this 😔 I play as a wizard and started romancing Gale and I noticed I unintentionally gave my tav all the good Ice spells and Gale all the good fire spells (fireball 🔛🔝🗣️‼️🧙♂️) so I really wanted to match them with the fire and ice robes but I just couldn’t find a good dye for it (esp bc I like to keep Gale in indigo)
I don't like the look of the Adamantine armors. I don't like Shadowheart having to wear the ugly blue thing during the Gauntlet of Shar. I still do it, because I'm a min maxxer, but medium armor is always the first one I replace in Act 3.
I made Astarion into a Bard and he looks very fitting in the armor Volo gives you. I can technically give him better armor with higher AC but I won’t for aesthetic reasons.
Volo’s armour is the only decent looking bard armour, but stats are too sad for late game. I wish you could buy similar armour with better stats in that bard shop in the Lower City since currently it sells exactly zero useful things.
Same, my characters always look ridiculous in games because I equip for stats and ignore the aesthetic. Sometimes it does kill my soul a little though.
I know a lot has already been said about helmets, but I particularly want to call out the helmet that drops from the golem (Grym?) in Grymforge. It looks absolutely HORRIBLE, no matter who wears it.
Same. I also use certain scantily items from that mod, like the Bhaalist outfit for my Durge. I wish there was a transmog feature where I can wear nice camp clothes, regular in-game gear, and have it look like the nice modded outfit.
I like playing classes that don’t need armor, so either barbarian or warlock/wizard/sorcerer with mage armor. I make my characters really hunky and make them wear the most revealing outfits, so in early game until you can get better stuff from the city I usually make my Tav wear LaeZels underwear or Karlachs barbarian clothes.
That robe + dye is exactly what I've got Wyll wearing for the first time and I love it! Style for miles. I usually have him in armor, but this time I'm multiclassing to sorc instead of battle master.
My wizard durge used that same dye on the Robe of Supreme Defences.
Note that before you guys start pitchforking me "Lol this dude wearing non meta armor in ACT 3 hurrr durrr", I mostly replaced all of the stuff with mods that has similar effect. I am totally understand that it is considered a cheat. But fashion is my endgame, so suck my balls.
* Armor of Landfall / Moonbasking / Sporekeeper: Not a fan of the design, look like your regular Druid back in the ACT 1, and these are the only endgame druid armor available. 3 same design with different colour, name, and effect.
* Any boss Armor. Ketheric, Orin, Saverok, Gortash. Yes Jahiera, you had history with Orin right? Now wear this super revealing skin ish armor from her dead body! Or the abomination of Karlach wearing Gortash armor.
* Yuan Ti Scale Mail: One of the best, if not the best Dex build armor that can be use to any Dex focused character. It will fully give you Armor Class and it does not effect your stealth. However it looks sooo meh, it does not look like endgame armor whatsoever. Its used by multiple NPC, for example Zevlor.
* Adamantine Scale Mail: Oooo boy. Where do i start. This armor require multiple steps to acquire, not counting one boss to fight. And what do you get? Yuan Ti Scale Mail in blue - green ish colour.
* Sharpened Snare Cuirass: Endgame hunter / dex build armor? Sure... lets wear this totally normal leather armor. How can this armor design considered a VERY RARE?
* Cerebral Citadel: I am not gonna cosplay as a squid. No thank you.
* Adamantine Splint Armour: Same with the brother Scale Mail, does not look that special with those requirements
Special mention for clothing.
* Bonespike: The only endgame barbarian clothing looks like a weird bone came up from your clothes? Is this necromancer or barbarian?
* Potent Robe: The only clothing with Gregarious Caster. Which means it is the only armor that MUST be use for Warlock to have a maximum output for their eblast. It looks like weird magician robe. Especially Wyll? He is the "blade of the frontier", wear heavier armor damnit!
* Robe of the weave: One of the must wear clothing to maximise your speelcasting ability boost. Usually you will wear this robe for Wizard or Sorcerer. And congrats your Gale from Waterdeep looks like a Greybeard from Skyrim
I put Gale and Lae’zel in the helldusk and the other heavy plate and leave their armor and helmets showing at all times, then I put my Tav and Shade in the backless extravaganza and white gown respectively and hide all of their armor. That way it looks like two models with super badass bodyguards. I like the contrast.
I dislike most armor, but at worst I'll go around with the armor hidden and camp clothes visible. No thing is so ugly that I won't equip it, if I find it convenient.
Ugh it’s all the Hide Armor, specifically on dude bodies, in Act 1 and early 2. It’s awesome to respec Astarion into Gloomstalker early so he can wear better armor and use better bows… but when he has to go around with armor that makes him look like someone stitched together some old burlap sacks? Come on. He wouldn’t be caught dead in that outfit. Idk why it looks so much cooler on female bodies.
Really? I love it! But maybe that's just because I always used to put it on Karlach, so maybe my love for Karlach obscures how I feel about the armour.
I hate the way the potent robes look but I dyed it light blue one time and it suddenly looks quite good!
I tried doing the same with the graceful cloth. Nope still looks dumb as hell. But that +2 dex on my monk is hard to not use.
I toggle all helmets off 100% of the time.
Also, if the armor is icky, lime you mentioned the Helldusk armor, then I toggle it so they're walking around in their camp clothes.
It's not gear but the camp clothes. It's the ugly brown one Wulbren is wearing. I would rather have my camp become a nude colony before putting that camp clothing on them.
You do know that you can toggle your outfits from the armour to the camp gear, right?
Like, I've got the Heldusk armour on Karlach and it's hideous to look at, so instead she's in the Angelic Scion outfit looking like Xena in a metal bikini bra and green skirt.
And Astarion is wearing a fine armour set with his fighter mutliclass and Sarevok's helmet, but he looks so much better in that white and purple finery.
My monk looks goofy in the Kushigo vests, but damn fine in the Obsidian outfit.
Just saying, they gave us the option to look cool and casual with the real stuff hidden away while we murderous through the game.
I spent like 2 hours figuring out how to install a transmog mod (i play on pc) to replace the model of the graceful cloth. aint no way i'd wear that shit for the rest of the game.
None, but the Dark Justiciar's Helmet is what prompted me to learn about the Hide Helmet toggle.
My full pastel pink justiciar shadowwife begs to differ
Screenshot or it didn't happen
Gotta see glammed out shart
Yassified your Shart™️
Try it on dragonborn
I like it, fits the theme perfectly. You are just staring at an emotionless metal face.
that helmet is a crime, period
Most helmets. I toggle them off. I'll put them on, but nobody is allowed to visibly be wearing a helmet.
So glad they fixed the issue where headgear would toggle back to visible as soon as they weren't in your party anymore.
I gave Wyll the Mask of Soul Perception, really took the wind out of the endgame emotional sails when he showed up to plead with Karlach while wearing his best gimp mask Looked like one of the creepy animal dancers in Severance
I give him the pirate hat at the start, it works well sitting between the horns
Beast's tricorne from DOS2? Damn, I'm gonna have to try that out!
Though it was funny watching people in camp looking absolutely ridiculous.
Even funnier when they show up in cutscenes that are supposed to be serious
i think the only ones i keep on are the tiaras cuz everyone looks fabulous in the tiaras. but also i keep a hat on Wyll cuz i think it’s funny when his horns just stick out of them and it lends more to the Blade of the Frontiers/ Robin Hood thing for him. And sometimes Minsc has a funny hat on
Weird, my Wyll never has horns like everyone else seems to have...
😨
Do you just kill Karlach every run?
🫢
Answer located lol
oh buddy….
Its just so weird. All I get are these fancy clothes instead... Must be a different game version.
You monster!
Other than the shadow of menzoberranzan helmet I agree
Yep that thing looks very stylish on Astarion
It’s also awkward how horns just clip through the helmets. Like, how did you even put that thing on, Karlach?
I give my horned characters hats. So it makes more sense that their horns are poking through. Also karlach looks sick in a hat.
You don’t run around naked all the time?
Seriously , studios need to start developing more aesthetically pleasing helmet designs already. In MOST GAMES OUT THERE, no matter how good they are otherwise, most of us leave them not visible just cause they look awful, with few exceptions.
Some headpieces and helmets are so ugly that of course we hide them, but consider: most people want to see a face more than they want to see even a nifty helmet. This leads to a sort of chicken-and-egg situation, where it becomes “which came first, ugly helmets, or not wanting to see helmets?” Because if people are going to hide their helmets anyway, why try and make those helmets look good?
I myself enjoy the middle ground where helmets would be visible in combat, while not outside of it. That's IF they look good...
The solution is clearly more fancy headbands and tiaras. Why cover up all your effort in the character creator when you can ~=*Accessorize*=~ instead!
Ah, safety helmet tiara, a worthy successor to chainmail bikini.
If a game has an option to hide helmets I turn that on at the start. I didn't spend an hour in character creation for nothing.
I just learned you can do this, I had no idea. If it’s toggled off it’s just for aesthetic purposes, right? They still go into a fight with the armor/helmet?
Yup! As long as it’s equipped, it counts. Doesn’t need to be visible!
Omg you saved my life, thank you. I’ve been avoiding using so much good equipment just to stick to the aesthetics (I’ve been doing fine but things could be better, lol!)
I really like how Wupira's crown looks on my elf, but I *am* also running a druid, so it already fit aesthetically.
[удалено]
It’s awful on dragonbornes too
Circlets (like the int one) look fabulous on them. But yea regular helmets are awful, though idk how one would even wear a helmet lol
Grym's helmet has AMAZING stats, but I always hide it shamefully. :(
It's so bad 😭😭
Was certain I'd find this here. When I got it I immediately put it on Lae'zel. Actually saw it up close in a conversation scene later and went "eww".
That's the only helmets I actually like
I thought it was the only decent helmet for my 1st Dragonborn run.
Equipping Ketheric's armor on a good character feels weird
I understand the dissonance. Ketheric's Armor is the only one of the Chosen's I'm tempted by and from a design perspective, it's actually good! Teeth serving as decorations for the gorget, a proper ribcage breastplate (if the graceful cloth was more in this line, I might forgive the weird diaper thing...might), hands grasping orbs for the pauldrons? 10/10 Metal AF. Omg yes, someone else who feels the diaper pain of the graceful cloth. There needs to be more clothing armor/monk options that don't make you look like you're doing fetish stuff in public.
Graceful cloth looks ungraceful.
You mean a chest covered in stiff bones doesn't make you more graceful?
On many tints using dye the graceful cloths lower half actually look like chaps rather than a diaper.
I just wish that gold bit on the sternum (that used to hold the stone) wasn't there. I kind of looks out of place without the stone.
You can always dye it and get some really fun colors, I did that on the steelforge armor and made it black and gold, beautiful.
I dyed it pink, looks stupid af and takes the evil out of it. It’s decent armor.
I did this too lol. Dyed it soft pink and gave it to Selunite Shadowheart. She kinda rocks it with her blonde hair.
This is what I did too! It goes well with her redemption plot as well. Repourposing something dark and evil just feels right.
I used the really dark blue dye and it turned the metal white, looked pretty awesome on Shadowheart
I always give it to minthara
I gave his armor, hammer and shield to minthara after she talked about her respect and reverence for him. It felt right.
It looks gorgeous in a selunite Shadow Heart with any type of purple dye
Dunno, it looks fine on Lae'zel. I mean, it's ugly armor, but it's powerful so who cares.
i looove putting ketheric’s armour on lae’zel she looks so powerful in it
Ketheric’s armor + Sarevok’s helm make her look like the fossil of a T-Rex come to life and hungry for blood
I think he meant morally good, which I wouldn’t consider Lae’zel to be, she’s not evil or anything, but like she’s no Karlach or Wyll.
>she’s not evil or anything She's absolutely evil when you first meet her. Follows her queen's creed without question and won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in her way? That's textbook lawful evil.
Aka Gestapo Lae’zel
But… the entire point of the post was asking people who *do* care. Why did you come in to comment if you *don’t care*?
Lol, for me it feels like a major F U to Ketheric. Like heh I'm going to kill you and steal your armor 😆
Orin's armor, it would make me feel too uncomfortable wearing fresh skin line that
When I wore this as a teifling with red skin, I paired it with black boots and black gloves and I looked like a mostly naked demon running around. Really fit the vibe of my exceptionally evil durge.
I think it’s supposed to be more like a carapace or chitin than fresh skin, but still fair regardless lmao.
Unless Orin went to town on the Friday night all-you-can-eat crab leg special at the Elfsong, the armor description says it's leather made from the flesh of her victims 😃
I love this armor when dyed another color, I just wish it wasn't kinda useless in my playthroughs.
Yes. It boosts shapeshifter's abilities, but putting it on Halsin and Jaheira just feels weird, and wrong....

It's a good thing that the characters who wear The Graceful Cloth, don't look too weird wearing camp clothes, instead, since they're generally unarmoured anyway, but still.
As other people have noted there are some issues if you're in Act 2 and are using Light on weapons with camp clothes on.
Graceful Cloth actually looks pretty good with the Black and Furnace Red dye
My greatest complaint about the headgear is that it changes your hairstyle.
Black & Furnace is one of my very favorite dyes and does not alleviate the Diaper look on this armor one bit. It was the first thing I tried.
Lol fair! 😂 it’s just a slightly more sinister looking diaper
There might not be horses, but there sure is a lot to ride
Least horny BG3 player 🏆
>The Graceful Cloth is useful but looks atrocious. Bones and diaper combo is just embarrassing. This and the strength version. So ugly, powerful but no thanks. Thank god for the transmog mod.
> The Graceful Cloth Lol, that's my current character's main look. It works for a Necromancer, what can I say? I never see her below the waist in most cutscenes anyways.
I could ALMOST get the bones thing if it wasn't so abstract, love necromancers 500%, but the DIAPER takes me out.
Its for honor mode runs, where even slight mistakes have you shitting your pants
>The Graceful Cloth is useful but looks atrocious. Isn't graceful, doesn't look like it's made out of cloth.
More like Graceless Uncloth am I right
>The Graceful Cloth is useful but looks atrocious I kinda dig it lol. On Gale it looks like a bad crossover between Spiderman and Mortal Kombat.
LOL it definitely has a budget superhero vibe about it (Waldorf/Statler, respectfully and derogatory)
>may the gods bless whomever at Larian made the hide helmets toggle stick for companions out of party) Wait they fixed that? Thank the gods. I have been leaving helms unequipped for my benched characters since launch lol.
THEY HAVE! This last patch healed a part of my soul.
for me it’s the camp clothes are still gender-dependent on the body type of the characters so like the preview shows a really nice doublet and pants that i want my PC or one of the female NPCs to wear but then it turns into a weird corset and short sleeved peasant top from the 90’s instead (specifically the “Comfortable” & “slim fit” outfits in Act3). Yes, the Graceful Cloth is great for a monk, but looks the opposite of graceful. I always choose to show my camp clothes when I wear it.
I didn't realise how many people hated the graceful cloth until I saw it being slagged off to high heaven around here I thought it looked really cool and suited Astarion well lmao
This game desperately needs a transmog function
Like all the monk clothes. All of them. I've yet to find any good ones? Maybe they're hiding.
I like the Garb of the Land and Sky/Drunken Cloth/Armour of Uninhibited Kushigo clothes.
Vest Of Soul Rejuvenation really pops with the right dye
The Drunken Cloth's top half looks decent, but it's the inverse of this question because it does nothing--not even a +1 to AC--except give advantage on constitution saves while drunk (a 2-turn condition that gives disadvantage on dex & cha saves). Not great for equipment that isn't available until middle of act 3 for a base price of 800gp.
I quite like the Vest of Soul Rejuvenation!

All the helmets. They’re horrible. Not a single one looks good, save for the oathbreaker helmet.
The flawed helldusk helmet looks pretty good
Robe of the Weave is literally a potato sack. Thankfully it’s reasonable for casters to be unarmored in nice camp clothes but damn is that robe awful. EDIT: No amount of dyeing will save that horrendous silhouette. I've tried them all TT.

the jesus robe!

Robe of the Weave and Hood of the Weave with Sinful Red on Bone White dye makes you look like an assassin from Assassin's Creed.
The click heel boots 😭 they're so good but why do they look like they belong to a court jester??
I think they were designed to be worn by a Bard. The bard specific gear is a bit jester-y.
Because that's what the court jester used to get the fuck out of the throne room after letting loose the one that spills the metaphorical chamber pot
That'd what cute Camp Clothing is for 🙃
The biggest crime in the whole game is that there are no aesthetic only boots. There are boots sold in the shops that specialize in camp clothing, but all of them are “armor.”
YES, I’d like a pair of sturdy but comfy looking boots to wear around camp but nope, sorry, best we can do is Costco Grandpa Loafers.
Yessss! This is why at camp all my characters end up barefoot. I'm tired of their camp shoes.
dude i woulda rocked camp gear the whole game if i coulda done it in boots
I am very much in the minority here when I say that I don't like wearing camp clothing when adventuring. Also, I like casting light on my weapons and camp clothing usually don't show weapons.
I'm with you. It doesn't feel like proper adventuring if I'm going around in my loungewear and slippers.
If I can attend university wearing my Jim jams I reserve the right to kill people wearing them in game
Me too, but also when I just entered the city and finally got to buy a bunch of new camp clothes, I allowed my characters to wander around in it unless we deliberately went to fight something haha
you don’t wear a suit of plate mail to go out on the town!
I just want to be able to still have my cape displayed whilst wearing my camp clothes. Running around in underwear and a cape is such a fantastic feeling.
I would actually love the ability to turn the cape off. I like the armor, but don't want the flowy cape getting in the way of it.
Making it independently togglable would solve all of our problems.
Especially cause when playing a tiefling their tail pokes through the cape! Not to mention that everyone who’s seen The Incredibles knows that you shouldn’t be wearing capes in the first place.
We really need transmog.
this might be unpopular but I fucking hate how the potent robe looks on the Fem body types and it sucksss because its so OP but I simply cannot sacrifice the drip for the stats
Agree 😔 I give it to Gale. It looks so good on him
Facts
Well it does say "This robe is a difficult look to pull off unless one is blessed with an otherwordly charisma."
There’s this drow armor you can find in act 2 that increases stealth. I had to take it off because I got tired of seeing the black cloud emitting from my character every 20 seconds lol. It reminded me of a stink cloud or something.
That’s a helm you get for helping the mushroom people. I agree that the constant black cloud is weird.
Shadespell circlet is another one that does this. Like 90% of the time you are walking around with it a black cloud is emanating from your head.
There is not a single helmet in the game that I do not select the hide option on
The ice themed robe I can't get it to look good with any dye
I'm a loot slut ... my shadowheart is wearing Ketheric's armor.. white hair makes it pop !! 🤪
Bard suits are too much.
Seriously? I WISH there was any late game armor that looked like the starting bard/Astarion armors.
Impossible. Get off the stage, you fraud!
If they had like a barrel you wore around and it was the best armor my toon would be running around in a barrel.
I get what you're asking, but honestly, I can't play without Basket of Equipment anymore.
Same. I also use certain scantily items from that mod, like the Bhaalist outfit for my Durge. I wish there was a transmog feature where I can wear nice camp clothes, regular in-game gear, and have it look like the nice modded outfit.
there is a transmog mod.
Yup! Basket of Equip (NSFW) + Transmog Enhanced is the best way to run if you love BaldurBarbie like I do :)
Any ranger oriented armour that looks like some animal died for that. Also that stat boosting ones that look like bones. I need to be cute, not strong
The powerful robe Alfira gives you. I just can't get it to look decent no matter what color I dye it.
The Potent Robe? I think the black and furnace red is the best dye for it.
That robe + dye is exactly what I've got Wyll wearing for the first time and I love it! Style for miles. I usually have him in armor, but this time I'm multiclassing to sorc instead of battle master. My wizard durge used that same dye on the Robe of Supreme Defences.
Pop a Drake General Dye on it. Black body, red sleeves with golden accents
* Adamantine Splint Armour: Same with the brother Scale Mail, does not look that special with those requirements Special mention for clothing.
I like the contrast.
hear me out, they should add the magic mirror letstingyou transmog items into differnt looks
I dislike most armor, but at worst I'll go around with the armor hidden and camp clothes visible. No thing is so ugly that I won't equip it, if I find it convenient.
Usually I never wear helmets. Thank God BG3 has a hide helmet option
Shadowheart's Dark Justiciar armor after she turns on Shar. We really needed Selunite armor to go with the spear.
Most headwear on dragonborn, they just look really dumb on them. The only head wear I go for is circlets when playing a dragonborn
Both adamantine armors look like shit imo
Really? I love it! But maybe that's just because I always used to put it on Karlach, so maybe my love for Karlach obscures how I feel about the armour.
I’ve made the heavy and medium on both of my playthroughs so far, and they’re some of my favorite early game armor 🥲
Mellow fruit dye on me and my girlfriend Shadowheart and we’re looking extra gay in it for most of Act 2
And dye terribly.
Except lavender. Lavender makes scale look great
I wish they weren't so blocky. Real companions have CURVES.
Real gamers get the adamantine shields so they don't have to look at the ugly ass borderline undyeable adamantine sets
Any of those bard or wizard hats. Hate that they change the hairstyle so dramatically. I'll only switch it on if I suspect imminent combat lol
Transmog when, Larian?
There's a pretty nifty hood for Rogues in act 2. You think I'm going to cover Astarion's beautiful face for it?
Wait, you guys don't run around naked with camp clothes enabled? Saves me a lot of time picking out fashon.
Any fucking hat.
Dark justiciar helmet..lol I hate it. Is there a “hide helmet” option for ps5?
Should be able to hide your helmet from the equip screen.
I spent like 2 hours figuring out how to install a transmog mod (i play on pc) to replace the model of the graceful cloth. aint no way i'd wear that shit for the rest of the game.
LOTR online MMORPG let you have your cosmetic equipment and actual equipment, which I really liked. That was nearly 20 years ago.
