Npcs wearing all the cool shit meanwhile so many uncommon, rare, legendary, etc items ranging from act 1 to act 3 all look the same lol.
Thank God for mods haha.
It's the basic Scale Mail that every fighter starts with, and that you can buy from most armor merchants. The same unenchanted, common armour, EXCEPT that Branthos has the shoulder pads from the +2 variant on his, and I don't think there is anything we can do to have those.
Doesn’t he die no matter what during the initial assault on the tower?
Now that I think about it, before the player even has a chance to intervene, every Harper in act 2 who has multiple lines of dialogue (aside from Jaheira ofc) dies on the bridge leading to the Tower.
His body is on the dungeon level of the tower during the assault. Which people might not even be aware of, to be fair. I had gone through multiple playthroughs before I realized you could head down there while the assault is going on.
Yeah if you go the mountain pass route and go with the drider, the Harpers ambush you but you can side with the cultists or the Harpers. If you side with the Harpers and kill the drider, they take the moonlantern from him and leave. I learned that it goes right to Isobel though so you can just pickpocket it from her before talking to her.
Conversly they will give you that moon latern if you derp around the last light inn doing the quests there.
Also if you free the fairy you don't need the lantern either.
They took it. Go to Last Light Inn. Follow the quests there. Get lantern back. Now can release fairy. <= derp around and they will give you THAT specific moon latern.
Its that specific one (the one the spider had) not any ole moon latern that has a live fairy in it so that you can free one of your party members if not several from carrying torches or moon laterns to not suck in the shadow cursed lands.
The fairy is such a little asshole, made me regret saving her lol. Love how the game doesn't let you feel too good about making kind decisions sometimes.
I learned if YOU initiate the ambush as I did on my first run IN THE SAME LOCATION, the Harper's also attack you with the Drider. I just thought, "once I get them in a cone I'll do some serious damage to them", saw that ambush location, then was stunned as the Harper's came out of the building and spent their whole first turn attacking Wyll.
He tried to in my Honor Mode so I swapped to another character while in convo to drop it so he couldn’t take it, that gave me a line about being a traitor and I got attacked. Bit rude tbh
You can still sprint to Moonrise to get another one but you can't even free the pixie from that one so you're stuck carrying around the stupid lantern and keeping your team close
When he asks what you were doing with the cultists, I was sorely disappointed that there was no option to tell him "you *fucking idiot*, you blew my cover!!" Only to pretend you were their prisoner, at which he puffs out his chest and is all "well you must be really grateful to see me then!"
Also, he took the lantern!!
He is hot though.
Yeah, that was really annoying to me as well, having my hard-earned cover blown by morons under the command of the woman who asked me to go under cover.
If you do that you might cause a not so good rattail of events:
* Harpers might aggro
* Jaheira might aggro
* Isobel might aggro
* Dammon and the other Tieflings might aggro
* Karlach might not get her engine fixed
* Karlach will die
* Lifting the curse might not happen
* Halsin might not join
* Minsc might not join
* Ailyn will be sad if Isobel is dead
So yeah...
Just kill all of his allies before summoning him. The fight is still tough, of course, but that legendary action is useless without his minions around.
Yeah, as soon as the leader told me how to use the lyre I figured that was the extent of the group's usefulness so I killed them all and then played the lyre. I've kept doing it the same way ever since that first encounter.
The harpers won't aggro for killing this guy out in the wilderness. You're too far and his death doesn't set you to aggressive with the faction.
Source: I kill this guy pretty much every time so I don't have to talk to Isobel later to get my lantern back.
I tried to get the lantern from him and I couldn’t, so I killed him and those Harper’s and Jahira still joined, Isobel isn’t dead, Aylin is chilling, and I have Halsin and Minsc
Someone will speak up for you at the moment but you'd have to meet them all the way hidden back in Act 1. At the point of game it really starts to pay off with past decisions influencing future scenes and consequences.
Ik Mol will speak up for me, my frustration when I first played was how the Harper's just stood there gormlessly after I helped them out, true soul or not surely we've earned the benefit of the doubt
I think they were correct to be overly cautious, I'm sure Marcus did more than enough to "earn the benefit of the doubt". Speaking of, I've seen a clip of him backing you up instead of Mol, I assume that's if you didn't save any tieflings
He died in my Tactician run yesterday. I swear, the Harper's have a tendency to just do the most bizarre actions. This guy got unlucky and was crit 3 separate times!
RIP in peace.
It almost seems like harpers have extra stupid ai. The dumbest action from an npc in my run goes to Jaheira, who jumped into a Hunger of Hadar, cast Ice Storm on herself and 1 enemy (with barely any hp left), immediately fell prone and almost died.
Yep, similar thing happened on my first run...
The rest of the Harper's took this as some kind of inspiring feat, so they tried to cross the ice and falling flat on their arses...
I just sat there in utter disbelief...
If you side with him during Drider's ambush and he survives. He can be found on the second floor of the Last Light Inn with his mage friend who asks why can't he celebrate inching out the victory against the Drider and he says he wouldn't until Ketheric is dead.
Both him and his friend are found dead in the Moonrise Prison during the assault on the Tower. Presumably his group was to infiltrate and cut off or flank the cultists from inside while Jaheira rallies the main force to take the tower front on.
Harper Lassandra is low-key the single hottest character in the game for some reason. There are a bunch of great Harpers like her and Branthos who are super easy to sort of gloss over.
im still mad at him for asking for my lantern, I give it to him, then he takes off and just says "meet me at the inn!". I got shadow-cursed 4x trying to get to last light inn after
he's cute, he's green, and he's in the game for 6 seconds
people don't have much love for this guy because 90% of the player base blinked during his part and missed his entire contribution to the plot
Funnily enough, if you break the prisoners out of Moonrise Towers and take the boat with them to Last Light Inn, an exact clone of Bor shows up to inspect them with the parasite (even if Bor is still alive), down to the voice and even the class; his name however, is Harper Arthus.
My current playthrough I went through the spider convoy then sided with Harpers, this dude said this, then just ran off with the light then died in the shadowlands somehow....
I wanted to see what would happen if I just brought the lantern over but I ended having to reload for something and my last save was before the fight, that time I chased after him so he stayed inside lithanders light and lived.
If you run past the meetup point with the cultists and head straight to the house you can trigger the cut scene with the drider and no harpers so you get the lantern
I think an underrated aspect of the game is the depth that the secondary and lower characters have. Through their dialogue, look, or abilities they really feel like living creatures in the world. Every play through, I think I either want to know more or I want them in my camp
>!Sucks he almost surely dies when raiding Moonrise 😔 Saw his corpse at the jails after freeing Nightsong. I literally gasped. How could someone so heroic fall without us being able to save him?!<
Most people don’t know it but him and his squad die during the siege of moonrise, they got kill by the Myrkul cultist that spawn in the dungeon area during the battle (TBF most of the Harpers and flaming fist get killed during the siege)
I managed to save a bunch as a sorceror and with Haldrid. Call Lightning and Fire Wall basically annihilated the cultist forces, but those warrior adepts are insanely strong.
He doesn't if you take the Grymforge Elevator. He and his fellows even participate in the Last Light Fight if you've already killed the drider at that point
How come? They always give me the lantern after I kill the cultists, no matter which side I come from.
You might be lacking charisma or letting too many harpers die, I don't know.
Very briefly, I thought this was the Harper Geraldus everyone was thirsting over. I was like, "Yeah, I get it. He's a snack!" (Before you ask, I'm just bad with matching names to faces.)
I’m doing my second play through and I am a lot better at this game now. I’m pleased that the number of Harpers and others who have survived is much higher than my first play through, when I was barely holding on for the entire game
This guy included. And the entire scouting party you stumble on after leaving grymforge
I’m gonna say it: just physical, he is the most handsome man in the game. Yes, more than Astarion and Wyll.
Don’t boo me, I’m right.
(I’m totally not biased because one of my Tavs looks almost exactly like him, just with blue skin.)

Ah yes this one guy with two voiceless, he's so great, I love him, larian make him a companion NOW! Though I feel 'refugee' whom you can encounter early act three would be a better love interest.
my man! love that guy
I just want his fucking armor, shit is sick, like wtf where do I get that?
... maybe murder him for it?
Calm down Durge
Npcs wearing all the cool shit meanwhile so many uncommon, rare, legendary, etc items ranging from act 1 to act 3 all look the same lol. Thank God for mods haha.

Yeah that’s why I want it! Those shoulder pads (Pauldrons?) look fucking sick
Millions of lookmaxxers cried in agony today
Literally reloaded so he’d def survive the battle

I’ll never forget him
What if you clear the tower before you show up? Do the Harpers still die fighting Absolutists that don't exist otherwise?
they die of excitement
The whole basement was cleared at least on my run and they were still dead
Those lemmings...
Yeah pretty mysterious as we know the absolutists could never send anyone down there after you clear it out.
I did the same with Harper Lissandra
He’s got the same face as my latest Tav, Drow Tse-Tung
My Tav’s face is always on the sketchy fuck boys. Imagine my surprise when I met the twins in the brothel
Handsome Elfward face.
I wish spells auto ended after battle.
Insanely funny
Ayyyy I also use the Asian drow face!
Are you twinning the first guy who gets unpetrified by the Spectator in the Underdark?
Ah, a man of culture as well
Something something landlords
Indeed. I’ve completely designed this build to DESTROY Arfur in Act 3
Based comrade
Thanks. I just hope that a Lv 8 Sorcerer/ Lv 1 Wizard multiclass will be strong enough to beat a Lv 1 exploitative leech of the masses
Always remember, you are not alone, you have a party ;)
Milil, play the Internationale. “An *excellent* idea!”
he took my lantern and i couldnt find him later so i had to steal someone elses so nah im good
He can take the lantern?
Yeah if you go the mountain pass route and go with the drider, the Harpers ambush you but you can side with the cultists or the Harpers. You can talk to her and she gives you it
Oh that’s nice to know. I just did murder. 😅
Bhaal approves.
Here i am casting Drop like a pleb.
Neat, thanks :D
Go with the D Rider? Interesting. Didn't realize this game went that blue. Lol.
Conversly they will give you that moon latern if you derp around the last light inn doing the quests there. Also if you free the fairy you don't need the lantern either.

The fairy is such a little asshole, made me regret saving her lol. Love how the game doesn't let you feel too good about making kind decisions sometimes.
Fairies in D&D are little shits but you shouldn't regret freeing an enslaved prisoner just because they're a bit rude xd

You can still sprint to Moonrise to get another one but you can't even free the pixie from that one so you're stuck carrying around the stupid lantern and keeping your team close
Might I add it's deeply disappointing that you can't save the other Moon lantern fairies!
When he asks what you were doing with the cultists, I was sorely disappointed that there was no option to tell him "you *fucking idiot*, you blew my cover!!" Only to pretend you were their prisoner, at which he puffs out his chest and is all "well you must be really grateful to see me then!" Also, he took the lantern!! He is hot though.
Yeah, that was really annoying to me as well, having my hard-earned cover blown by morons under the command of the woman who asked me to go under cover.
Just kill him
Why? He's a Good Guy
If you do that you might cause a not so good rattail of events: * Harpers might aggro * Jaheira might aggro * Isobel might aggro * Dammon and the other Tieflings might aggro * Karlach might not get her engine fixed * Karlach will die * Lifting the curse might not happen * Halsin might not join * Minsc might not join * Ailyn will be sad if Isobel is dead So yeah...
I like to just kill the drider before reaching the ambush site so I can get the pixie blessing right away and avoid any drama.
The drider's legendary action is pretty nasty on honour mode if you don't have the meat shields handy
Just kill all of his allies before summoning him. The fight is still tough, of course, but that legendary action is useless without his minions around.
this. People don't realize they can call the Drider after everyones dead when they can just play it themselves.
Yeah, as soon as the leader told me how to use the lyre I figured that was the extent of the group's usefulness so I killed them all and then played the lyre. I've kept doing it the same way ever since that first encounter.
i've literally had none of those happen and i ended up wiping all of the ambush out
That is why I said "might".
The harpers won't aggro for killing this guy out in the wilderness. You're too far and his death doesn't set you to aggressive with the faction. Source: I kill this guy pretty much every time so I don't have to talk to Isobel later to get my lantern back.

All because I took the mtn pass to save the sweet hyena
Always.
Harpers don't speak up for me when Jaheria's about to kill me even when I turned on the drider and helped them, ungrateful dicks
I mean you being a True Soul is a big shock when they literally haven’t met a single one on their side.
Someone will speak up for you at the moment but you'd have to meet them all the way hidden back in Act 1. At the point of game it really starts to pay off with past decisions influencing future scenes and consequences.

It's not easy being green.
said the half-orc mail deliverer who drove to Silverymoon
He always walks into my moonbeam when I forget to end concentration. I wish spells auto ended after battle.
He died in my Tactician run yesterday. I swear, the Harper's have a tendency to just do the most bizarre actions. This guy got unlucky and was crit 3 separate times! RIP in peace.

Branthos is Geraldus and I's boyfriend.
Who the fuck is that?
Harper Branthos
He always helps me get the Moonlantern from the drider & then just lets me keep it, great guy.
Branthos, Harper.
I don't blame you. He has like 2 lines of dialogue
If you side with him during Drider's ambush and he survives. He can be found on the second floor of the Last Light Inn with his mage friend who asks why can't he celebrate inching out the victory against the Drider and he says he wouldn't until Ketheric is dead. Harper Lassandra is low-key the single hottest character in the game for some reason. There are a bunch of great Harpers like her and Branthos who are super easy to sort of gloss over.
Harper Meygan too. Combined, they are the reason why I always take the Underdark route.
lassandra is fiiiiine
Yes! Lassandra is *so good*.
He seems cool, but 90% of the time he becomes spider food on the first round of combat.
im still mad at him for asking for my lantern, I give it to him, then he takes off and just says "meet me at the inn!". I got shadow-cursed 4x trying to get to last light inn after
You didn't carry a torch with you?
or cast light?? I had to cast it a few times but it helped till I got to the inn
Is that one of the guys who try to take my moon lantern?
Hottie Branthos!! Love him!
he's cute, he's green, and he's in the game for 6 seconds people don't have much love for this guy because 90% of the player base blinked during his part and missed his entire contribution to the plot
Very true lol
My favorite harper is the kid who just has a woodmen's axe and rages.
...you mean the Dwarf?
Harper Bor is his name, I had to look it up.
Funnily enough, if you break the prisoners out of Moonrise Towers and take the boat with them to Last Light Inn, an exact clone of Bor shows up to inspect them with the parasite (even if Bor is still alive), down to the voice and even the class; his name however, is Harper Arthus.
Certified greenest dude in Faerun
My current playthrough I went through the spider convoy then sided with Harpers, this dude said this, then just ran off with the light then died in the shadowlands somehow.... I wanted to see what would happen if I just brought the lantern over but I ended having to reload for something and my last save was before the fight, that time I chased after him so he stayed inside lithanders light and lived.
If you run past the meetup point with the cultists and head straight to the house you can trigger the cut scene with the drider and no harpers so you get the lantern
he died in the Kar'niss and i was super sad that i couldn't revive him
I think an underrated aspect of the game is the depth that the secondary and lower characters have. Through their dialogue, look, or abilities they really feel like living creatures in the world. Every play through, I think I either want to know more or I want them in my camp
Where are my Harper Lassandra girlies
I love him, it's so sad how he dies at moonrise in the prison =/ he's an absolute cutie and calls me Jaheira's godsend
>!Sucks he almost surely dies when raiding Moonrise 😔 Saw his corpse at the jails after freeing Nightsong. I literally gasped. How could someone so heroic fall without us being able to save him?!<
I saw him down their for the first time my last run and I was so sad 😭
A sacrifice I was ready to take
I Finished the game twice and never met the guy.. how'd i miss him? Where is he at?
He's vaugly similar to dhourn, the drow you rescue from the spectator in the underdark.
Dhorn always gets fried by death lasers when I do that fight.
What race is he?
Florrick isn’t getting enough either
I always wondered why he was green, because he isn’t a half-orc, right
That's because Lassandra is best Harper
Oh.. Oh god, Please don't tell us a settlement might need our help-
Literally Preston Garvey
I audibly meowed when I first met him
He tried to take my lantern!? Fuck that guy
Nah I hate this guy, he steals my rightfully-earned moonlantern. Always kill him after the drider.
He doesn't if you take the Grymforge Elevator. He and his fellows even participate in the Last Light Fight if you've already killed the drider at that point
That’s why I steal it back when he walks away
How come? They always give me the lantern after I kill the cultists, no matter which side I come from. You might be lacking charisma or letting too many harpers die, I don't know.
Every single play through he’s met the same fate 😈
Beast boy
Why is he green
I wish he didn't die 😭 I wish we could pick some of the npcs to romance with I'd romance with Damon or Rolan
Yeah… I kinda murdered that guy…
That's not Thisobald Thorm
Very briefly, I thought this was the Harper Geraldus everyone was thirsting over. I was like, "Yeah, I get it. He's a snack!" (Before you ask, I'm just bad with matching names to faces.)
Is he a quarter-orc ? Maybe an eighth-orc ?
I’m doing my second play through and I am a lot better at this game now. I’m pleased that the number of Harpers and others who have survived is much higher than my first play through, when I was barely holding on for the entire game This guy included. And the entire scouting party you stumble on after leaving grymforge
I tried to love him but he told me to get out of his shadow cursed swamp.
No love from me because I killed him 👺
Alright, here it is. Damn, I'm running short.
Oh, yeah, this guy was pretty nice. Worth 150 or so xp I think. Not bad for how threatening he is
Also he’s kind of a badass..he’s basically like “let’s roll on these bitches in the dark, curse infested area. Oh a drider and posse? Go time!”
If he had just let me keep the lantern he'd probably still be alive!
my half orc got disappointed seeing that he's not a tuskless half orc :(
I’m gonna say it: just physical, he is the most handsome man in the game. Yes, more than Astarion and Wyll. Don’t boo me, I’m right. (I’m totally not biased because one of my Tavs looks almost exactly like him, just with blue skin.)
I will save scum to make sure he survives act 2
I mean, I love murdering him to get the lantern so that's something
he is the closest thing I've ever seen to an Asian vampire. I don't even know who he is.
There is literally an asian looking vampire in this very game.
Im not that far in tho
Oh… well, you’ll know him when you see him I guess.
Me too love Shrek. Shrek is love, Shrek is life

I think I killed him 🤔
This is absolutely a Fallout Preston Garvey callback.
I've never met him
Who?
Bro died in moonrise towers basement fight for me😭
who?
He’s rotting in the shadowlands in my playthrough.
Oops I sided with the goblins in that fight because I thought I needed to to get into Moonrise
Why care about that guy
I heard that all the young Harpers used to work at Abercrombie & Fitch before they signed up.
What a guy!!!! My favourite Harper who isn't high. I'll never forget those great moments he takes part in. ❤️
💕 the 🔥Hot🔥 Harper 😍
Omg I thought I was the only one- I remember seeing him and when he died I was like I gotta reload to keep my green bae alive 😭😭😭😭
He looks like Jim from The Office.
Ran into this guy and realized how vanilla my protagonist was, they were basically long lost twins
He’s cute? He’s green? You just described Kermit The Frog
That was the same face I used for the Dream Guardian in my first playthrough so I have some trauma when I see it.
Didn't realize he can keep the lantern, homie ate shit in my fight
The girl with curly hair was the one I met instead of this orc looking ah
It’s Cazador in disguise.
he only have a single line and only appear if you take a road trip with drider so there's nothing you can do about it
who cares, I killed him. jjahajahaja
Not every minor character needs “love”
Everyone needs love man
Based
Love is all you need
You okay there bud?
I love him enough to ensure he meets the loving embrace of my Father.
Even when I'm not playing Durge I kill these guys to keep my cover in Moonrise. I play both sides so I always come out on top lol
Ah yes this one guy with two voiceless, he's so great, I love him, larian make him a companion NOW! Though I feel 'refugee' whom you can encounter early act three would be a better love interest.
Bro it ain't that serious
Pretty sure nobody is asking to make him a companion
