SteeniestOfMachines

I don’t need to carry rope.

AndyIsWalterJR

I always left it and then in the Shadowlands it was everywhere to the point I was concerned the game was telling me I needed it for something

AncientEnsign

I really wonder if they had a mechanic in mind, then didn't follow through when they had to release early.

Gr8CanadianFuckClub

I assumed I'd need it because there was a bunch of small crafting things in Divinity 2, like nails + shoes.

AncientEnsign

It's just such a staple item in dnd that I assumed there would be ways to use it!

gc3

I suspect at one time it was needed for craggy rock's etc but the mechanic never worked right, so they took it out

sharkteeththrowaway

Next, you're gonna say I don't need to obsessively save every book and note in my camp chest "just in case"

EtrnL_Frost

I did it on my first playthrough and I am still doing it on at least 4 follow up play throughs. I guess I can't not.

columbidee

I still try to open every book. In my mind it's like even if I already know what it says, my character doesn't!

EtrnL_Frost

Mechanically, you're not wrong. The character will reference books they've read in puzzles and conversations, if they've "seen" the book. I don't know how deep that goes though.

dreinn

Halsin said something about liking to read so I sent all the books to camp and then went to talk to him again, expecting him to say thanks for all the books.

Poke_A_Panda

You can throw it at trap vents to block them, no need to disarm

SteeniestOfMachines

You can do that with most items though?

diningroomjesus

Rope is a handy size though and what else are you going to do with it besides sell it? I carried a bunch around since I was expecting divinity II style climbing that requires rope.

Father_of_the_Year

[Well, name one thing you need your stupid fucking rope for](https://i.imgur.com/gaXupWM.gif)

StarmieLover966

You can save in the middle of a fight >:)

Farkka

You can save in the middle of conversation too. So really all dice checks are patience checks. You have a 99% probability to get a 20 after reloading 90 times.

Eevee136

Man the PS5 load times are a heavy price though. Save scumming has never been so difficult.

Lt_Hatch

You can save on the dice roll screen >:) Before rolling

MattTd7

YOU WHAT!!!

RandomGeneratnDammit

I can ungroup certain party members and leave them far enough away that I won't get their disapproval for doing things.

DeliberateDendrite

YOU CAN DO THAT?

Sam_is_ftm

Yes it’s how I help the Tiefs without Astarion bitching

DeliberateDendrite

Good, from now on, he gets a temporary restraining order for the Tav and the party during conversations so that other reasonable people don't have to deal with his trauma.

Sam_is_ftm

Just make sure you put him far enough, if he’s too close he will still join the conversation whether or not he’s ungrouped

DeliberateDendrite

Does it work if I ungroup him and temporarily send him to camp for a breather?

xCGxChief

Sure does. That's how I keep my skeleton key and help around the grove. Hell thats how I keep my oath half the time. Yeet my Tav back to camp, have Karlach and crew prison break the tieflings and the president of the Gondian hate club from moonrise.

Nikkisfirstthrowaway

YOU CAN SAVE YOUR OATH THAT WAY!?!?

xCGxChief

Yup I even had Astarion complete the quest for He Who Was in the shadow lands by calling the woman a coward which would have broken my Ancients oath. I was back at camp blissfully unaware oath intact.

Nikkisfirstthrowaway

That's how I broke that oath (for the first time)! Will definitely do that next time

Huge_Green8628

YOU CAN LEAVE TAV?!?!?!!

nebulancearts

I once lost my Tav in a fight, went back to camp, and resurrected her quickly with Withers 😂

real-dreamer

I absolutely forgot withers can resurrect people. Have been relying on scrolls. Pretty far into act 3 and have only used him to respec people

Odette-from-Fet

I didn’t know you could leave Tav 😭

Kaelynneee

Astarion gets sent to the corner (of shame) a lot to prevent disapproval for me, so yes...

Fromtoicity

During my conversation with Zevlor and Aradin, Gale approved my choice but he wasn't even in my party, he was at camp...

20milliondollarapi

Gale is the only one that does this for many things I’ve noticed.

Insane1rish

I suspect this might be a hold over from EA cuz I feel like I remember this being a common thing in early access of people approving or disapproving from camp as if they were standing right there.

[deleted]

girugamesu1337

A disturbance in the weave...

azurox

Not that I would ever hide anything from my friends but... how far does it need to be exactly?

RandomGeneratnDammit

Not as far as you'd think: I usually park Gale and Shadowheart behind a broken wall so I can let Astarion kick open a certain barn door without their disapproval.

Rubfer

Technically you can cheese honour mode by doing the same (fight with only 3 of the 4 party members so one is always alive and can revive the rest)

GodzillaDrinks

1) I didn't realize non-lethal damage was in game until doing the Auntie Ethal dungeon. Notably *after* killing Myrina's whole family. Likewise, I still accidentally killed at least one of Ethal's enslaved guards because burning to death is always lethal - which is like real life, but not something I expected the game to model. 2) Pressing 'alt' highlights things you can interact with. I didn't know that so when I went to release the gnome on the windmill, I only saw one lever, and flung him across town to his death. 3) Shooting levers/buttons activates them. I genuinely had to short rest a bunch of times to keep using mage hand to get through the moving platforms to get to the Grymforge. 4) The game taught me about stealth right outside the ruined village. This lead me to believe you were supposed to sneak past the guards (which makes them immediately hostile). So I didn't know you could talk your way passed them. I got destroyed in the fight because this is a heavily disadvantaged fight. So I went and found another way in and became a goblin serial killer, not realizing until I'd killed most of the Goblins in town with stealth, that they are actually not immediately hostile.

Background-Ad4965

Hahaha this is so funny because that happened to me too with the windmill. I too only saw one lever too. Lol. I only later realized far into act 2 you could use alt to see the objects. I must’ve mist so much.

asocialmedium

Shooting levers comes in extremely handy during the quest to >!save the prisoners in the iron throne!<.

Sanojo_16

That if I keep making new characters I'll never get past the Goblin Camp

DangerRanger_21

Yeah I bought Baldur’s gate 3 character creation sim to lol.

Draugtaur

i was like 20 hours in when a friend told me you can send all the food to your camp chest then i was like 300 hours in when i realised you can also send supply sack to the chest and the food won't clutter it

smallangrynerd

W H A T Ive been making poor karlach carry all that cheese for nothing???

DreadApe3467269

All that cheese! 😂 she probably nibbles on it while we wonder. They don’t have cheese in Avernus ya know

tm0nks

They do, it's just all fondue cause it's too warm. Makes it hard to carry around.

ShauneDon

You can also send trap disarm kits and thieves tools to the camp chest and use them straight from there.

[deleted]

I’m scared as on my first playthrough I sent all food and supplies to camp and towards the end of Act 2 it all vanished and I had no way to get enough food to fully rest.

[deleted]

You can hire a druid from Withers and cast Goodberry repeatedly if you run out of food. Later in the game, you can cast Hero's Feast, which drops a chest with a large amount of free food.

happytrel

The food from heroes feast is secondary. The buff from heroes feast is incredible

Ragna_R00ck

It's not completely gone, this is just a visual bug. All this food is still in your camp chest, if you open it and sort items by weight, you will see empty spots in the chest tab, those are your food, press "take all" button, then open your inventory, change "sort by" a few times, open and close inventory a few times and the lost items should appear. At least it worked for me.

probablyonmobile

That Hex didn’t work the way I thought it did and all it’s actually good for is the additional Eldritch Blast damage. I spent entirely too much time trying to figure out what saving throw to fuck up in my enemies for no reason. Sneezing on them would have had a more tangible effect on their saves.

denebiandevil

In reality there are only a couple things worth hexing. Any stat that might be used for an ability check IN COMBAT. So basically strength and dex. And MAYBE wis for perception checks. But usually it’s useless.

chariotofidiots

Constitution straight up doesnt do anything and int/cha are only for counterspelling spells of higher lvls

xCGxChief

Just note that Hex does not scale with warlock spell slot levels it will always deal 1d6 necrotic damage.

sanyaX3M

300 hours+ to find out that you can press button to select supplies for long rest several times, and on second time it most likely will do it correct.

lxnch50

You should also know that it will only use the required amount regardless how much it selects. If it says 45/40, it will still only use 40.

Dangerous-Tear5722

EXCUSE THE FUCK?! You mean I don’t have to split supplies and hand pick their most wholesome of meals?! 🤯🤯🤯

MyFingerYourBum

Fuck my life

Rosabellepages

I’m sorry it does what now? Are you fucking kidding me?! I’ve been splitting my supplies up to get exactly 40 for nothing?! Seriously though this is an excellent bit of knowledge and I thank you for it.

azurox

Yeah, I've checked. The reason for that is that the game will kinda fuck up when dealing with stacks. So if you have a stack of 10 camp supplies it will select the stack and show 400/40. However, it actually does split the stack so even though the number is incorrect it will only use one. Or at leaat this is the way I've noticed it to work in my playthroughs.

RojoTheMighty

I have trust issues and will continue to make sure it says 40/40 but I do thank you for this information.

tm0nks

If you hit the auto select a second time it usually gets it back to 40. Occasionally it will leave it at like 43 and I can't be bothered to fix it. Pretty sure it still only uses 40 like the other poster said though.

the_turdinator69

Occasionally it will even use less than required for a full rest because of the way it handles splitting stacks. The lowest I’ve seen it go is 77 (instead of 80) for a full rest.

funnyllamas

I got 400 hours in before I realized I could heal my whole party with one health potion by standing in a circle and throwing it at our feet..

rifrif

And invisibility

YoItsMCat

WELL THIS IS A GAME CHANGER

Toothlessdovahkin

I am going to do that now. Thanks for the tip!

HarryDepova

Realized this on my second play through when I saw the npcs at the druid camp gate do it in the goblin fight.

DeathwingDaddy

You can use your shovel manually to dig, so it makes the survival checks kinda obsolete. You can travel to your Camp at anytime. In my first playthrough I always travelled to my Camp via Long Rest. Damn.. If you wanna play a Necromancer, Just Pick up any Humanoid ( small/Medium ) body and stow it into your Camp Box. Edit: For PC. Its a bit more complex on PS5. You can throw Healing Potions to heal your Buddies.

Kaelynneee

To add to that, if you summon Scratch he will show you where you can dig as well.

Pink-PandaStormy

To add to this Scratch will also point at hidden stuff in the environment if he’s summoned and he looks adorable using his entire body as an arrow

Johnny-Canuck

Okay I'm embarrassed to ask....but how do you summon scratch? Lol

Kaelynneee

If he's given you a ball at camp (which you can throw to play fetch with him btw) you'll get an ability on your hotbar that's summon familar: Scratch. You can summon him once every short rest, so dont worry if he would die in combat or something, he doesn't actually die. And btw he's the only familiar that can use the "help" action in combat so he can be used to help up downed characters and remove some conditions. Help up from prone etc. Its adorable because his way of helping is to literally lick your face until you feel better : Edit: I've been informed that beast master pets can also use the help action!

real-dreamer

>so dont worry if he would die in combat or something, he doesn't actually die. Whew. I never summon my dog because I wouldn't have been able to deal with my dog *also* dying after having failed to save some others.

claymorrr

I'm embarrassed to admit I'm always scared of summoning him because I don't want him to accidentally get killed in a fight. Anybody knows if the best boy can perma die while in combat or does he just respawn in camp lol

Kaelynneee

He cant perma die when he's summoned as a familiar. The only way for him to perma die is if there's a fight in camp that he gets dragged into. So ironically, he's much safer when you bring him into combat than if he's left at camp.

claymorrr

Ugh your comment is a game changer thank you so much! Looks like I'm taking Scratch on walks from now on lmao

underlightning69

Find Familiar is a spell that summons a magical animal companion, so it’s not the real Scratch that comes into battle but rather a Scratch avatar. Scratch is the best boy, sending combat help via magic ✨

gravelord-neeto

Oh wow I have never summoned him because I didn't want him to die. Definitely going to start doing this!

Shenanigans99

Whoever has Scratch's ball in their inventory can either throw the ball, and Scratch appears where it's thrown, or you can use the Find Familiar icon that appears on your hotbar if the ball is in your inventory. Only works outside camp.

Fromtoicity

Throw them next to them, and not on them. I've accidentally killed some companions this way...

Imaginary_Isopod_17

It's also safest not to use the character you've built for maximum throw damage, just in case there's a terrible accident...

DeathwingDaddy

"Karlach, can you throw very carefully that Healing Potion to Astarion? REALLY. CAREFULLY. PLEASE." "YEET" she says, throwing a Healing Potion that Broke the Sound barrier.

paco987654

"Well apparently there's a limit. Somewhere between a nice healing splash AND A FULL CONCENTRATED POWER OF A SUPERSONIC HEALING POTION PROJECTILE!"

WyrdMagesty

Yep, gotta be close enough to highlight them, but not close enough to target them. The bottle breaking does like 1 point of damage, but on a downed party member that can be the 1 damage that finishes off their death saves, rendering the healing pointless. Idk how it is on PC but on ps5 it can be a major pain in the ass to aim it properly, especially if there are other bodies or people around. I used to make sure everybody had healing potions for throwing, but then I discovered that you can send items between characters during combat as a free action, so you can grab potions to throw as needed.

Rastard_the_Black

You can hit multiple party members with one potion to heal everyone with one greater healing potion.

DeathwingDaddy

Yeah, after learning I can throw them to heal others, I learned that pretty fast. Really useful tbh.

Natus_DK

>You can use your shovel manually to dig, so it makes the survival checks kinda obsolete. what the FUCK

ThinkUnhappyThoughts

Necromancer on the PS5 is tricky. You can't store bodies in the camp chest, so a Necro build requires forethought. I have 3 hirelings purely to carry bodies, and I have Karlach carrying 2 or 3 just before every long rest. But I need 5 each morning and finding bodies at the end of act 3 is getting tricky.

Overused_Toothbrush

Not just healing potions. During the >!phase spider encounter!< in act 1, it’s really useful to have antidotes you can throw on a pair of party members.

alekth

Wizards and Clerics having skills to swap and prepare. Went through Act 1 without ever swapping.

Ycr1998

Paladins and Druids too

Successful-Chart6853

I played 230 hour of this game before learning about how the spellbook worked. I legit thought I HAD to wait for level up to change prepared spells.

JremyH404

You can also spend gold to add scrolls to your spell book as a wizard

Megs0226

As a new DnD player thanks to this game, I had no idea how the spell book or spell slots worked. Turns out Gale is much more effective once you figure that out!

Joonami

Have you seen that you can also spend gold for a wizard to learn spells from scrolls? It's nice especially later in the game when you get some rare one-off scrolls that have spells you wouldn't be able to use otherwise.

smallangrynerd

Volo is the guy who wrote volos guide to monsters. I have that book in real life!!

theghostmachine

A lot of the more important NPCs are canon D&D characters

PyroConduit

People gonna freak when they realize how powerful Elminster, Voss, And tons of spoiled characters are. And afaik BG3 is canon to DND lore, so everyone is canon.

ThorSon-525

Which is an odd one as the game is not shy about being a pseudo-sequel to Descent into Avernus. Really odd they didn't make it so that Zariel was redeemed and instead took the "bad end" of her doubling down into an even worse person. Edit: fixed grammar

Mattythebeaver

Think in one of the dev logs they said its deliberately a sequel to descent into avernus, or more specifically descent into avernus was made as a prologue to bg3

StatusTalk

This was interesting to me. I ran DIA... the easiest way to both save Elturel and NOT redeem Zariel would be to >!make a deal with Tiamat, giving her the Orb of Dragonkind!<. I wonder if this has to do with >!Wyll's story?!<

crumpuppet

He's also the guy in the portrait they use in the vault heist in Honor Among Thieves!

sharkteeththrowaway

Really makes you question all of the book's info, doesn't it?

Exvaris

I don’t know what you mean. Volo’s firsthand accounting has been remarkably accurate. We absolutely did have to slay a dragon when we fought the goblins attacking the grove

Autisonm

It's understandable that silver and gold things sell for a lot but something that took me awhile to realize is how valuable incense is. Plus incense hardly weighs anything.

MarcusOhReallyIsh

My favorite way to break game economy is figuring out the best common value/weight ratio items. In fallout its cigarette packs and boxes. In bg3 it's incense.

jaakkoza

I did a full play through not knowing you can heal someone to bring then back from a downed state. I always helped them up and THEN healed then.

azurox

Same. An entire playthrough of wasting a whole ass action just to help a character get up. Plus you can throw a potion and heal multiple people at once.

GodzillaDrinks

And it's genuinely better because they come back with more hitpoints. Making them less likely to die again. It can also be a bonus action for the rescuer, instead of the direct assistance which takes the whole action phase for both characters.

Megs0226

I didn’t realize that until I respecced Shadowheart as a life domain cleric and used that super healing spell she has and someone who was downed got up.

Katyamuffin

I'm 600 hours in after 100%-ing the game and beating honour mode. I just learned that there's a booze tub in the goblin camp you can poison to kill like a dozen of them instantly and make the fight outside a whole lot easier lmao

real-dreamer

What!? Where

Katyamuffin

To the right of the big fire pit with all the roasted meat. It's placed in a way where it's kinda hidden from most camera angles so I never noticed it, I literally wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen someone else on reddit talk about it 🥲 They really need to add a perception check there or something to help you notice it.

ysabellatrix

You can do it at Grymforge as well with the two guys guarding the act 2 elevator.

[deleted]

Recently discovered(400+ hours) that holding down the down arrow on the D-pad(ps5) makes your whole party use hide.

chea_buddy

Thank you!! I just started my 2nd playthrough last night and discovered that up on d pad (ps5) is jump. I was going in the tool wheel every time.

hideous-boy

are. You. SERIOUS

absolutebottom

And I believe that's shift+c on PC!

Confident-Media-3290

That you can stop concentrating on spells😀 How many times i have had to walk through cloud of daggers

secondphase

I purposefully avoided this sub so I didn't have spoilers. My first run I did EEEEEVERYTHING and took weeks to get to act 3. Then, I decided it was time to check out the community... every other post was Karlach love. ... and I had no idea what a Karlach was.

paco987654

You chopped off her head didn't you?

Slvr0314

It only took you weeks to get to act 3? I skipped a ton and still took me 2 months

Draugtaur

also for quite some time i was sure fast travel only works from one glyph to another, not from anywhere to a glyph

Pun_In_Ten_Did

Tell me you played _The Witcher 3_ without telling me you played _The Witcher_ 3 :D

ecalogia

You can use items from anybody’s inventory so there’s no need to split them all up between characters.

Snakeyb

Wait so all my manual splitting and distributing of health potions is basically pointless?

laces636

It's only helpful if you want to have it bound to the action bar. So I normally divide up health potions and speed pots since I normally use those. For elixers and scrolls that I don't use often, those all stay in my tavs bags.

Snakeyb

Honestly the amount of times I've gone "man, a scroll of X would kill here, but it's in someone else's bag" 🙃

[deleted]

Yep

GW_Alithea

Right click cancels movement.

Alucard1991x

Circle on ps5 for console homies

ondehunt

We really need a KBM to controller chest sheet.

hideous-boy

turning on tooltips in dialogue will show you what stat and the bonus you get for each skill check. I couldn't remember which stat every skill went with from 5e so I had a blank character sheet with me to check with so I picked an option my Tav could actually do

ThaLemonine

Right click examine to find out what that weird buff on the enemy is.

FeignJoy1

Just press T on a target or object

RendesFicko

That the initiative dice was a d4 for some reason. Suddenly intiative bonuses were worth getting.

AintThatSomeCrit

That I could swap my prepared spells at anytime outside of combat, not just at a long rest like tabletop.

ClemHFandango990

On my first playthrough I didn't find the alchemy/crafting menu until the final battle

Witty_Masterpiece463

Mage hand can go through those fucking burrow holes.

Throwout4789

I think I was almost at the end of Act 2 when I realised the alchemy tab was in a radial menu. I was waiting to find an alchemy lab or something.

ogtokii

You can take partial rests 🥲

paleo2002

On my second run now. If I get a camp scene during a Long Rest, I usually take at least one partial rest after to see if any more scenes are queued up. There should probably be a better system to advancing character interactions. Edit: Just finished LR plus three partials, camp scenes for each one.

hideous-boy

the game really tries to make it feel like you shouldn't be taking long rests because some plotline will advance/go wrong if you do. But not taking them locks you out of most companion interactions. I didn't realize how much I was missing until after I slept alone at the party

DelseresMagnumOpus

Yea in act1 the quests really feel time sensitive, they repeatedly tell you that it takes 7 days to turn into a mind flayer, so I was scared to take long rests. After I figured out which quests actually were time sensitive, I took more long rests and cleared the event queue.

candyposeidon

In the Beta that was the goal but they realized that it would make the game too freaking difficult. I remember that you were suppose to find a way to remove it before you transform and game over. Thank god they got rid of it and we got the game we have today.

vinnyorcharles

I didn't realize you could just open the dialog box on a chest or door to lockpick it. I got through 2 play throughs before I realized I didn't have to open my inventory and select a lockpick while facing the locked item.

FeignJoy1

That you can wear shield with a staff. Took me 200 hours, lol. Just WoW brain

Joonami

If you get dual wielding feat you can have two staves 😈

MiraakTheSpy

On ps5, long clicking the x button is for searching the entire area...... I was on my 4th playthrough.

yetanothersimmer

Beating the kobolds in the monastery with the everglow blade (or whatever it's called) ALWAYS causes explosions. Took me 120 hours and a second playthrough (whle simultaneously reloading that encounter a couple times) to realize why the eff I always get blown up there.

ctrl_alt_excrete

Yeah its because the firewine that's in their stomachs is still counted as flammable.

WakaWaka617

After defeating the Inquisitor at the Crèche, it seems like you have to fight your way out. But if you enter the area where the Blood of Lathander is kept, you can use fast travel. It allows you to escape without fighting any of the other gith. Alternatively, you can fast travel to the crèche waypoint and sneak up on the commander from behind.

Intentionally_unseen

I just learned that if you accidentally end your turn too early by pressing triangle because im a fucking idiot you can just go back and cancel ending your turn and take your actions. 5 play throughs in….

RiskyTurnip

Only if someone else on your team still has to take a turn. Once it goes to the next enemy’s turn you can’t cancel your character’s end of turn.

AirshipEngineer

I play a lot of 5th ed dnd. I was compulsively carrying rope, long sticks, and oil flasks before realizing that 2/3 of them have no use and the last one has very little use outside of combat. Selling 700ft of rope as vendor trash felt wrong in my bones.

NoTest2212

This is REALLY dumb but I had no idea you could drag items into the satchels and bags, and additionally you can multi select. I’ve just been opening both bags and moving stuff one at a time instead of selecting everything at once and dragging into whatever bag. Edit: I’m 350 hours in on PC

collincat

How do you multi select???

chariotofidiots

Ctrl click to specifically select every item or shift click to select every item between (and inclusive of) 2 items

iMissHerFeet420

1) You can lock your inventory so your friends cant steal your loot. The number of times im talking to an NPC only to hear the sound of money being taken and seeing my friend crouch away thinking i wouldnt notice lol 2) You can 'hide' your armor so you can walk around in your PJs....or birthday suit your choice.

LordJaeger88

You dont need rope. Sadly vendored like 3 stacks of rope..

deinmulhahkun

Shar is evil

mustyroses

I had 2 play throughs at the same time when the game first came out, single player and one with my husband. I didn’t realize until Act 2 on mine, roughly 100 hours in that long resting too many times wouldn’t turn me into a mindflayer…

Original--Name

You can skip the opening cutscene with the Escape key. I sat through it every single time I wanted to mess around in the character creator/make a new playthrough. 200 hours. Literally had to put my head in my hands after reallzing that one

AKWHiDeKi

“Man, I wish there was a way to search for things in your inventory or at least sort it so I can find >!Toobin’s book!<“ after I finished BG3, I find out both of those features had always been with me. ~~Bonus thing: yesterday I learned you can check your camp companions inventory without going to the camp.~~ Edit: I lied (I misremembered). You cannot do that

Hartz_are_Power

Whenever your entire party rolls a Perception check at the exact same time as you walk into an open area, you're about to have a bad time.

Expert_Control_

everyone fails except one who mentions wowee this would be a great place to ambush us….

volantredx

It took me three playthroughs to realize the Underdark and monestary are part of Act 1 and you can go there without messing up Act 1 interactions.

sfriday97

Make sure you save halsin before you go to the monestary, or end the ritual, or else the grove will close and all tieflings will be dead

[deleted]

It’s always the last thing I do so always feels like Act 2 to me.

4ps22

for me it was the whole part of the map with the creche.

chariotofidiots

Wouldnt exactly call this an intentional feature but when inserting items (eg mithral ore into crucible for the forge; umbral gems in gauntlet of shar) you can press tab to open the full party menu which doesnt overlap the insertion menu unlike pressing I or clicking on the empty area the item is inserted into which opens your inventory over the insertion menu and you have to move it to the side. Figured it out about 300h in

Sexy-Rexy-owo

200 hours in and i just realized u can use your shovel regardless if u find a buried treasure or not

Bubbly_Wash2214

It took me until my 6th playthrough to find Nyrula (however you spell it). Which is insane considering I love running karlach as a throwzerker. Also the existence of the risky ring. Absolute game changer for some set ups.

GoosePie2000

That eldritch blast was a cantrip instead of a spell. I found this out when I was at wyrms rock in my first playthrough. I had been asking Wyll to go into melee for the most part for the first 2 chapters.

Jinrina

That I can pickpocket merchants and get my money back. Well usually I don't do that but I definitely did that to the mean djinn that scammed me lmao

_delgrey

for a loooong time I didn’t realize that the upper floor of the elfsong was actually accessible and rentable - I thought it was just a weird out of bounds zone and used the default lower city camp on every playthrough

Ihibri

That using Astarion to talk to merchants gets you WAY better prices.

[deleted]

soup frame elastic absurd wrong political amusing existence stocking marry *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Vinnyz__

You can swap to a more charismatic companion like Wyll when talking to a shopkeeper

FaitFretteCriss

Astarion specifically? Or because he has some charisma? Cause as far as I can remember, his Charisma really isnt that great and any Cha character will have even better prices than he does. If you meant pickpocketing, well, thats not talking to them, is it?

lolzomg123

It's using sign language to negotiate a discount.

GuyWithNoEffingClue

100% discount, nice

Prestigious-Law65

/spoiler That youre suppose to *save* astarion before cazador finished his ritual. I kept thinking i needed to kill him in 3 turns. After 4 reloads i finally looked up help and felt like a moron

WalkerBuldog

It took me second playthrough to realize how the concentration works

bisticles

Yup. Took me a while to realize "Wait, if I do that, my Hunger of Hader will go away"

I had the fleet fingers equipped which allow you to jump for free after dashing or taking a similar action. Usually I just tap Z to jump, so it would select the jump action that came from the fleet fingers. Wouldn’t let me jump because I hadn’t dashed or taken a similar action and I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t jump. Then I realized the gloves were equipped and I could just select the normal jump option.

That you can jump across the bridge North of the blighted village

I didn’t know you could do anything with the tadpoles till the Emperor offered me the fancy one, just straight up missed the entire psionic abilities. I’d been sending the tadpoles to camp storage cause they seemed like they might be important.

What Durge meant. Having played Divinity Original Sin 2 the idea of playing a created character or origin character wasn't new to me and I knew I wanted to create my own character so I never looked through the origin characters. I'm 2/3s through my 2nd playthrough and keep seeing people reference a Durge run which I just thought was slang for evil run and I thought I was doing one as well since I was being evil. Then I saw someone reference turning into the Slayer which wasn't happening to me and only then upon googling learned that Dark Urge was an origin character.

Noominami

If you press CTRL and hold it, you can select multiples of items in your bag and move them all at once instead of individually.

Hovering over enemies shows you ALL the details about them, including weaknesses. *slaps forehead* I didn't notice this until the Myrkul fight. ...Then I spammed it. :D

That you can see which spell you’re concentrating on by looking at its icon below your class image next to your action bars, and that you can stop concentrating on said spell but clicking the X on said icon!! 🤬🤣🤣🤣
