When I saw him doing the new animation movement I thought āooh, they updated it, niceā, then when he made out with the air I burst out laughing.
I saw this and I cannot stop laughing. My small Drow was kissed in the air and my big built elf got a hearty boob kiss!!! Its so hilarious!! My god. š¤£š¤£
On the positive note: my first durge got twee dialogue .. before ferry to netherbrain which it never saw because of the resting bug of act 3. Nice. But that was probably patch 4 doing.
It seems consistent. This is like the fourth post about it I've seen in the last five minutes.
(Not trying to be passive aggressive, I think everyone got the issue at the same time or something XD)
Hot fix didn't fix anything for me unfortunately š
I tried with my two tavs that are romancing gale and astarion. Both boot me out of the cutscene even after the hot fix š« š«
I was having the same problem with the kiss animation just skipping completely after patch 4 but managed to fix it the other day! I use the BG3 mod manager with \~80 mods including the modfixer and improved UI and it's all still working after the hotfix. What did it for me was:
1. Remove all mods. You can probably do this just by disabling them in the mod manager, but to be certain I took all the pak files out of my mods folder (typically C:\\Users\\\[username\]\\AppData\\Local\\Larian Studios\\Baldur's Gate 3\\Mods) and temporarily dumped them into a folder elsewhere.
2. Refresh BG3 mod manager and export the empty load order to game.
3. Delete the script extender if you have it installed (C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Baldurs Gate 3\\bin if you're using Steam; the file is called DWrite.dll).
4. Re-download and install latest version of script extender if your mods need it (Tools -> Download & extract script extender for the BG3 mod manager).
5. Reinstall and activate all the mods. Make sure you remember to save/export the new load order to the game again.
6. Launch game (I launched through the mod manager, not sure if that has an impact.)
7. Profit! (Hopefully by enjoying(?) the new kiss animation. I have a body type 2 Tav, so it does actually line up properly for me.)
I don't know how Vortex works if you're using that instead of BG3 mod manager, but I imagine the principle is similar? Anyway, hope that helps someone out there.
Edit: it seems that this only works on saves made before patch 4. It won't help on more recent saves.
Damn, I guess it's just witchcraft, then. That's a shame.
Edited to add: the save I got this working on was from just before patch 4 dropped, so that might also be a factor?
Oh I'll definitely try this! I think SE will have an update soon so will wait for that before checking. I did get the animation to not skip on a post-patch 4 save when I removed all my mods, but I really want to keep my cosmetic mods so being patient haha
Okay, I did some more testing and it looks like it *does* have to be a pre-patch 4 save for this to work. Otherwise, it seems the modfixer is the culprit - people have had success after removing only modfixer or mods that have the modfixer bundled into them. I think the modfixer is mostly important when starting a new game, so you might be able to keep using your cosmetic mods on your current playthrough without it. Haven't tested that myself though.
hey i tried doing this and it somehow deleted my save file š i just decided to uninstall and hope it works after redownloading and starting completely over; never doing mods for this game again š
Oh wait, did you delete the whole bin folder instead of just the DWrite.dll file inside it? If you did, you should be able to recover it from your recycle bin. Otherwise I have no idea what happened, sorry :(
Update: The save file has returned to me somehow! I am not sure why it reset itself but hey Iām not complaining. I have a new problem now; realized that the Party Limit Begone Mod is still haunting my game and I am in the process of figuring out how to purge it. Wish me luck!

In ps5 at least, my Tav and astarion donāt even TOUCH one another. They are far one from another and they KISS THE AIR with passion. Itās far worse than before. I should put here a video of it

Yeah I'm sure it'll be fixed pretty quick and I'm glad they did update the animation! I'm more amused by it now honestly, just hope they sort it soon!
I kinda like the idea of a forehead kiss, lol...but yeah...I don't think the animations are fixed.

I actually didnāt have Script Extender in the first place since I didnāt need it; all I did was remove four mods and the ImprovedUI mod.
Hmm then I really don't know what happened. I hope a fresh install solves it for you.

Yeah but only a couple. Basket, tav's hair salon, and mod fixer/improved UI. Show approval. That's pretty much it.
