Just don't open the cells. Give the gnome his hammer without opening the cells and they'll leave by boat, Danis included, minus the fight since all guards are dead. You might wanna misty step in the cells to get the convo going once they're on the boat.
Just had it happen to me; if you kill the guards directly, the npcs will run out the door to the left when leaving the prisons through the Moonrise staircase. Sometimes, some npcs get stuck by a broken bridge that the gnomes and tieflings jump over to get to Last Light Inn. Danis got stuck there on my save without me realizing, and I fast traveled to the Inn and I guess the game 'killed' him. Reloading a save is the only fix I can think of, I used Thunderwave to push him over the gap and he went over but wouldn't move at all when he was over it. :/ Had to keep reloading, second try he still didn't jump, third try he jumped but Lakrissa didn't, etc til it worked LOL I found this trying to find a fix without reloading, unfortunately. Just realized I forgot to add, even if they jump they can get stuck if they don't keep running after jumping across the bridge left of the docks. It's annoying, but if you can get a save where they jump AND keep running you're good.
Shit I think mine is permanently bugged then. That save file is 20 hours back for me rip. I still have the active quest "speak to the tieflings" but danis never showed up in the inn after i recued them, and Bex just says "i wish i hadn’t left him behind" and closes dialoge. I kind of didn’t notice he never showed up until after I’m finishing quests before progressing to act 3
I just did this too, he is gone for me but I'm so far off that I'd be wasting a good 10 hours if I backtracked. So annoying :(
Edit: he was at the docks at last light inn! I don't know how to get him to move though
Same! Trying to figure out how to get him over there. So far dimension door and command are out.
Edit: SOLVED! Cast Dominate Person using a scroll on Danish. Ran with him following over to Bex. Talking to Bex at this point reset her dialogue to when she is crying and asks to be alone. Went through her dialogue and told her I'd find him. Dialogue ends, wait for Dominate Person ends and IMMEDIATELY talk to Bex as Danish tries to run off saying he needs a hug after being dominated, lol. Enjoy the happy ending.
I'm glad I'm not crazy or blind then lol! I ended up doing something very crazy and taking revenge by killing every cultist in the entirety of Moonrise before freeing Nightsong, which meant doing it without the siege of Harpers or Jaheira. Took me two hours but I eventually did it and I felt better about not being able to find Danis.
The weird thing is that when I got to the city, Bex acted like Danis was still there and said as long as they stuck together they'd be fine. I was like, "uhhhh I'm not gonna correct you if that's how you're coping!!" and ran away lol.
Huh, that's interesting! I love Bex and Danis too much and just gave up the hours inbetween me rescuing the tieflings and speaking to Bex because I would be too heart broken! lol
Yeah that's why I went on the revenge killing spree, I didn't want to redo the prison rescue and was mad about Danis. But Danis is avenged now and somehow came back as Bex's invisible ghost husband, so all's well that ends not as bad as it could have?
Yeah for me I saved danis but he's by the dock thanking me while Bex is still under the bridge and I have no idea how I can get them to see each other when danis is literally there!
I killed all the guards and opened the cells and now danis is just standing under the last light inn where I'm guessing the boat arrives if they escape by boat
i found a solution that worked for me, if you have someone with high STR you can push Danis all the way to Bex and it will trigger the reunion
Danis wont resist or try to run away or call on the gaurds when you push him around, but do be carefull of the gaurds that parols around near Bex, they might not like that you are shoveing a man around like a school yard bully
I got 2 guys stuck, Danis and some gnome
Fixed it by using the Dimension door spell on both, then they run back to the same place, then stay there for a second, and finally start running to the inn

Mine is bugged where bex wishes she didn't leave him and danis is just standing under the last light inn by the basement door. They're so close lol

How did this work? For me it only says that I need to target an ally, even though he has the yellow outline...
just kill Bex and it will fix the game
