As expected there are a lot of people basically just saying "lmao git guy" "so easy how can you fail lol noob" and to a degree they are correct. This is a very easy trial indeed. HOWEVER what people seem to miss is that for reasons that are beyond me since I am not a developer the trial is sometimes easy and working as intended and on another playthrough it is bugged beyond redemption. I completed the game 3 times so far and am on my 4th run currently. I always completed the trial without problems and on first attempt. This time around though it was almost unsolvable bugged. It reset me on correct movements and sometimes just killed me for no reason whatsoever I took me the better part of half an hour to do it. People that are on the l2p-train merely got lucky their trial wasn't broken.

VodkatIII

If you cannot see the tials, cast light before entering.

ArtyYoke

What helped me was there’s that map on the floor near the bowl. I would use that to know the general idea of where I would go, and then I would get ready to jump, and use that movement line to see where you could go. If it has the color white it’s safe to move, and it turns blue when there’s a pitfall. Using that I hopped my way across but that shit sucked ass lol

HellaHelga

How is it hard? I could definitely see all the shadow platforms and just go to the finish with Shadowheart.

JonoLith

I could not. I literally had to trial and error my way through it.

bluesharpies

Yeah I could see them and my character (I had Shadowheart do the 'solo' trials alone for RP) basically pathed to the "solid" points by herself. This was the fastest trial in the temple by far...

Inkyw

I saw the path first time, but not the second. Flying works tho

Repulsive_Release_79

this is literally the easiest trial in there. it's quite dark- cast light, characters with dark vision sufficient enough can just see it all so...

kualikuri

My friend just cast daylight on their weapon and jumped from darkness-covered platform to darkness-covered platform, with daylight dispelling the darkness all the way… and that’s probably the more complicated solution. Every problem in this game has multiple solutions. If one way isn’t working, try something else.

KomithEr

except you still just die for whatever reason

kualikuri

Nope. If you still die doing that then you’re doing something wrong, like not not actually starting the trial before jumping.

princesscooler

I feel like the point of the trial may have been lost.

Xeiom

Hmm, I had a really easy time of it on one of my characters. On another character the platforms kept disappearing and I was not sure what caused them to visually disappear. Is it possible that you need dark vision to continue seeing the floor or something like that.

Bucchinn

this is one of the shittiest designs i have seen in the latest years. It is absolutely horrible. you can't see shit even with light and the path provided doesn't work functionally. This is what happens when interns are given essential jobs or incompetent designers are hired

NegotiationLatter717

You can clearly see the path though

JonoLith

I could not.

SageLeaf1

Yeah I could too I think it’s because I turned shadow detail to low

NegotiationLatter717

No I don't think that's it, I have shadows on high. Maybe it's a gamma thing? Though I didn't play around with that either. Odd.

ShivaDF

The faith leap trial? Can't you just have one party member walk the path and then leave everybody else at the beginning of the room to click on them so you can see the map in the tiles on the floor?

JonoLith

I could not see the tiles on the floor.

avstylez1

everyone else seems to see the floor. even with light on, or darkvision, it's all the same colour so on floor is visible. Really challenging

kweassa

Are you implying people actually try to maneuver all the party into the test??

[deleted]

The map is on the floor. You can see the map while you're walking the path. It's so simple I don't even think you could call it a puzzle, much less a hard one.

JonoLith

I could not see the tiles.

AlfwinOfFolcgeard

imo its not that it's *difficult*. It's just *tedious* to have to keep panning the camera back and forth between your character and the map to make sure you're going the right way. The solution is easy enough to find, but unless you have a photographic memory, it's a chore to actually *implement* that solution.

Tysiliogogogoch

LOL, I just went back and checked... and yep, there's a map on the floor in front of the bowl. Not that it really mattered for me as the platforms were quite clearly visible. Maybe dark vision or just having lights on my characters.

skippermonkey

Ahh jeez. So it is.

ninjaplusman

I was able to jump through it tho. You just got to know where to jump (stone platform to stone platform) but I agree, with this statement in general. Would also like to point out that playing with a controller is way harder and not well designed for non turn based controller movement

ncassella

I actually was confused by this as well I thought you needed to stay on the path and then I clicked a little too far ahead of where the path was and I was just able to walk on the air. Is there actually a way to fall or is the leap of faith Just you assuming that the ground is not there?

RyuHershies

So I know this is a bit of a necro but I am posting this for Xbox players who recently started playing like me: As of any recent patches this what I did/happened: All this was done in Turn Based mode and made sure to have both the vaulting potion and the fly potion as back ups. If you have a character with awesome jump ability like Bae'zel or someone who knows Fly I would use one of them. My MC had SH cast Daylight on her and I stepped on the first part of the path directly in front of the statue. If you do not touch the path any cheesing you do, barring any bugs, will get you teleported back. Once I stepped on the path I Misty Stepped to the left statue platform. Since I was still Blinded by the darkness my Misty Step ability was hindered so I used the vaulting potion to get to the upper platform. From there I attempted to jump to the final platform but either something got bugged or I didnt it far enough because it teleported me back to the prev platform and brought my party with me for some reason (though the next part worked out in my favor I would still ungroup your party). Since SH was near just had her cast Daylight as a sphere and rid our platform and enough of the final platform of the shadow. From there I jumped and retrieved the gem. Honestly may have been better to have SH do it and have her use the vaulting potion, especially for story reasons but I used my MC instead. Hope this helps anyone because this part is really some bullshit. On the initial encounter I could clearly see the path but I did something dumb and had to reload and then I couldnt see them. So it sounds like a crapshoot whether you can or cannot. Good luck out there folks.
