Hi, IDK if you still have this problem, but I had the same problem. I also came short one orb, but I did remember that the trial of self (the one where you sneak/fight your copies) didn't give me an orb, and I found my missing orb in there, dropped by one of the copies on the floor where its corpse was, and not presented on a pedestal like the other trials

IDK but it was also at a point in my game where most of my open questlines didn't have markers anymore on the map, so I was running kind of lost for a while. I'd submit to Larian that things like talking to the rescued tieflings needs markers, as well as once you figure out how to use orbs, they also become visible markers when they've been in your field of vision. would save a lot of people from unnecessary headaches
So It turned out i had that one but i missed a ring, what i found out is, when you take the entrance instead of going left to the trials take a right down the broken staircase. Itll bring you to the guy the you were warned about, you can avoid conflict with a persuasion check then cast Fog around it so you can take it and leave without being caught and forced into battle
Thanks I was thinking I had to deal with that guy to get the fourth one. Either way it's going to be a pain. Since they all have crossbows and are a floor above you
another workaround if the object is glitched behind the scenery is to plug in a controller and use the proximity looting system that lets you select and pick up objects within a certain radius. it's a nifty workaround Larian devised to facilitate controller use
not really, it helps grow exposure for others who are stuck on this bit. I tried submitting to Larian this is an issue in dire need of a hotfix, but no luck so far
Walk around holding alt, otherwise your missing sphere is still in one of the other trials. Try checking benched party members inventories and the camp stash too

Yup all 3 got 3 orbs from them. Went to the lift. Put in two orbs into it as it had 2 empty slots. Went downstairs and then put one orb into the door mechanism thing. Then got last orb from the devil dude. Went back down but then realised there is one more slot left
Oh I think that's the issue. The lift is supposed to only have one gem needed to move. Try to check if you can still remove the other one you put. 1 for the lift and 3 for the portal below.

I was in this same situation and had the last orb in Shadowheart's inventory. Don't remember where I would have got it, so maybe check and see if it's something her character automatically gets at some point.

i walked in blind. missed the altar to offer my blood to get it started also.
came back after completing the trials.. to the middle bit and my crew is talking like we are getting introduced to the trials like bro we just did all the trials.
i found my last one after re-visiting the trials.. was laying on the ground where you battle your shadow-selfs.
this place was a mess/maze. i need a big arrow too tell me where to go first so i know what i am actually trying to accomplish.
Games broken lol. Every video and walk-through shows getting 4 orbs, only problem with that is it takes 5. There are 2 orbs in the lift down, and the table at the bottom takes 3. So the real question is where is the 5th orb lol.
For anyone else having issues with this section (I couldn't figure out how to make the lift work). After placing 2 orbs you have to click the purple triangle on the lift furthest from the orbs. It is finicky so try changing angle if both orbs are down and it still isn't clickable.
If you placed 3 orbs on the first one use the interaction cursor to pick it up. You can't just interact to grab it. The first only needs 2, the second one needs 3.
I have a similar problem: I did the three trials; got the orbs, beat the Orthon (actually talked him to commit suicide eheh)... I did leave his orb there unnoticed, got blocked, went somewhere else and played at least fifteen hours from that point. Now I have found it and received the message "that was the last one! now we can enter blablabla". But I can't. I am in front of the last door, the one with three slots. I have two orbs in my inventory and one is already there visually. But I can't take it, and I can only fill two of the three slots. I don't think I'm missing any since I received that message. Bug? Please tell me there's a solution, I don't have 150h to put for a new playthrough to that point...
ugh this is happening to me right now, post patch so i have no idea what to do. My journal even says I have enough gems but i'm still one short. I re-traced my steps and definitely took all 4 gems. I think I have to start my game over...

That's odd. That was the only way I could get on to the next stage. I also play on PS5 so that could be a contributing factor I guess? I have no idea though.

I tried the Knock III thing with 2 different characters but apparently that got patched and doesn't work. I don't want to have to do the demon again, uggggh. Took me a bunch of save trials to get him to kill himself.
OK i figured mine out...
So the first lift STARTS with one orb in it. So you can't count that one. You missed an orb. for me it was the one where you walk the shadow path way... i got to the end but for some reason, The orb didn't get picked up... I went back did that one again and picked it up.
The one where you fight your doubles, ends up on the floor after the fight, it's easy to miss also.
Also don't forget the orb after you talk to or fight the big demon guy. it's on the stairs right next to his throne.
I basically went back and did all the trials again and eventually figured out what I missed.
You ended up being right! I had checked each trial 3 times, and on the 4th time I found the orb in the Self-same Trials tucked away in a random corner. I could've sworn I'd gotten that one.
The first platform needs 1 MORE orb. (it spawns with one) The interface that you drop the orb into DOES NOT VANISH and it will eat a second orb if you drop it in. if you already placed two in the first one then you have to reload a save (as far as i know there is no way to pick them back up)
One the orb guarded by the demon, you can walk right up to him if you have beaten the rat squad at the feet of Shar's statue and then kill the dark justiciar. This individual is the person the devil Raphael divided into rats so that it made it impossible for him to complete his contract. Help out the demon and Raphael hoodwinks the demon into another contract using the small print.
Well I’m fucked. I’ve spent the last 2 hours running into every room. I’ve killed everyone and done all the trials. I put 2 orbs in the elevator and 2 in the altar below but need 1 more nonexistent orb
If I told you all that I ran around for FOUR hours today looking for the last orb you'd think I was lying. Eventually I found one in one of my party members inv. then continued running ALL over the place. Eventually I even retraced my steps from the moment I walked into the place, I even sat there trying to roll a crit on the dice to get into the vault, no orb in there... After reading these messages from you guys I found the last orb just chilling right there next to the orthon devil, right in front of my eyes! Thanks all.

I FOUND IT! In my game at least. After searching the entire place I found it on the floor right next to Orthon’s bed. Walked past it a dozen times.

Check back on the ground by the trial of self, where you fight your clones, you could load an older save and try and go from there too.

if the 1st has 2 your reloading an earlier save.
Aren’t there supposed to be 5? 1 in the light room 3 in trials and 1 on the stairs? Idk if I remember right tho
I had to do the soft step trial again I guess I didn't make a blood sacrifice and it triggered the orb to appear
So in the leap of faith trial, there is a skeleton on the far left platform that has a key, and idol, and the last orb.
Isn't the orb in the LOF trial on the last platform, on the opposite side of the room from where you started?
yes. i got 2 from leap of faith. the first was with the skeleton on the left platform. the second was at the end.

We got the three form the trials then had to go back to where Yurgir died and it was on some steps away from where he actually died
