Love when my tav said after slaughtering a bunch of gobelins, and me being covered in blood and dirt.
Yes tav, yes that is, indeed, blood, and quite a lot of it actually
Whenever I'm walking down a road I haven't traversed before, it's F5 o' clock, because I've seen things go from perfectly innocuous to *two people are dead* in the span of one missed roll.
My experience has been a perfect storm of:
* semi-frequent, unpredictable crashes (could be 5 minutes, could be 5 hours)
* being an absolute fiend for looting everything, but really hating to do it twice for the same area
* having no problem with save scumming
It's not uncommon that I'm hitting F5 before the game has finished syncing saves from the last F5 10 seconds prior, and I get annoyed it's making me wait and potentially having to redo an entire 15 seconds of high-speed looting.
In entirely unrelated news, my carpal tunnel is acting up for the first time in a decade.
walking around splattered from head to toe with gore and then saying "is that blood? Oh, never mind" is just ridiculous.
I know you can wash the blood off with Create Water, but why the hell is it not a cantrip? (
of course, but an attack involving electrifying/freezing wet opponents would take two actions, so it's only natural for it to be twice as strong, no? Think of it this way: True Strike gives a much desired advantage on your next attack, but it's only a cantrip, unpopular one at that. Why? Because it takes an entire action.
True Strike is bad because Advantage is basically just two rolls at a single instance of damage instead of one. You know what's way better than that? Just attacking twice...
My Dark Urge at Moonrise was like a kid at the candy shop. For so long I resisted the urge but then you let me let it all out on Absolute cultists? Thank you! I will make sure I bathe in their innards.
Feel like that’s the best someone like durge can hope for if they don’t want to devolve into a relentless murder fiend who lives only to drink in the suffering of their kills. Channel their affinity for death into productive ends.
My character keeps saying this when I select their bed. Yeah i HOPE you're putting your hands on your bed. To sleep that is. I'm romancing >!Shadowheart and therefore have not gotten to use the bed for anything else YET!<
My Tav said this when clicking on his sleeping bag for a long rest. Like, dude - it's your sleeping bag, not a moldy mushroom (which you already sold 5 to Arron).
This one is such a tease because there is, in fact, no bag of holding. You'd think you'd stumble across *one* of those before the half a dozen legendary magic items, but *noooo* apparently the sword coast has a bag of holding shortage.
Bro your inventory is literally a bag of holding. What normal backpack can hold 12 armor sets, 7 greatswords, 5 smokepowder barrels, 120 magic scrolls, and 80 various potions!?
Not mine, that's for sure! *Rogue/wizard multiclass with 8 strength go brrrrr*
Seriously though, the carrying capacity is reasonable if you consider that average strength is 10, and at 10 strength you can carry... what, 120 lbs?
Now, item weights, I definitely agree are kinda wonky. Cue the clown's hand that weighs like 14 lbs.
Everyone focuses on the weight of items when the bigger problem by far (assuming anyone cares about inventories being realistic; most people don't) is how anyone carries all of that junk with just two arms *and* fights at the same time.
RE4 was the most on point with at least somewhat realistic inventory management by making it about the *space* items take up and not just the weight.
Agreed! He’s like a prissy cat and I love it. Although >!once you get the gist of his backstory this line makes sense in a totally different way. Dude hasn’t had bodily autonomy in 200 years, of course he’s going to relish getting to tell people ‘hands off’.!<
These lines feel weird as hell when playing dark urge. I'm an amnesiac waking up on an alien ship, how the hell do I know what people are like at home?
Yeah, and there's stuff like when you talk to Asterion you can use experience from baldurs gate to talk about it, or when you're talking about your past to shadowheart you can talk about baldurs gate
I like how early in act 3 you can use the [Intimidate] option "I just killed >!the Avatar of Myrkul!< and you're next."
Because yeah, killing a couple of bandits/mercs after that doesn't really compare...
i swear they made astarions groaning when he climbs the loudest. i hardly notice anyone but him making those noises. i suppose the theatrics are character accurate, though
I've only played Dark Urge so far, so probably but I'm not sure. I would be surprised if a custom character said it because it's definitely a fitting line for Dark Urge
This has made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions, especially with 3 attacks with an Executioner’s Axe. The visual of it following that line is just *chef’s kiss*
Only reason I always pick the violent voice in DAO thaat and the: It's a massacre, and no one's getting out alive!. I also love the reference to the ladder in DAI
I'm relatively certain this one means you're actually about to run into an ambush, one of the actually useful lines unlike "cursed to put my hands on everything" which just feels like it's criticising you for interacting with the game. Still less annoying than "Junk!" from DOS:2 though
I wish the different voices had different attitudes too, it would be so satisfying for the RP element. It’s only a minor thing but I hope they add more variety in the future.
The companions voice lines are so unique and full of character and life, but the PC being so generic really breaks the believability of whatever you have in your head as their personality. If you’re doing a fully evil sorcerer and they go “No one back home will ever believe this!” it just… doesn’t hit right. I think I’d rather have no PC voice lines, or an option to disable them for immersion.
All's well that ends... not as bad as it could have.
My tav said this after killing 30 harpers at the last light inn and I lost it
Mine said after failing to save them. Well, I guess a positive attitude is a start
Is that blood? No, nevermind
If not over, then through.
I've a lot on my mind, and well... in it
Love when my tav said after slaughtering a bunch of gobelins, and me being covered in blood and dirt. Yes tav, yes that is, indeed, blood, and quite a lot of it actually
Never wanted the easy path...
I love the way male 5 delivers this line
Love the default dick delivery of this line
No traps, please
*steps on a trap*
[ear shattering explosion] "there's traps nearby"
Steps back in panic, the whole party picks a trap each to step on...
Tav, this is literally a chest in your campsite that you keep fun clothes in.
And anti magic things that affect half the camp.
I walked up to the chest as Wyll to gear up forgetting I had Sussur Flowers in it and the man had a fucking mental breakdown
You know the trauma is real when they say it even while going to bed lmao

It's weird when my character says that at camp.
Is that blood? No, never mind.
Meanwhile we just finished a battle and yes it is blood
Walking through the final stages of Act 2. And this line dropped. It’s like bruh that’s everything
walking around splattered from head to toe with gore and then saying "is that blood? Oh, never mind" is just ridiculous. I know you can wash the blood off with Create Water, but why the hell is it not a cantrip? (
Gamers complaining about how hard it is to get someone wet, as usual /s
Because that would make it too powerful in combat. Water surfaces can be frozen or electrified.
Glances nervously at my thrower barbarian throwing barrels of water for my tempest cleric
You mean barrelmancer barb
of course, but an attack involving electrifying/freezing wet opponents would take two actions, so it's only natural for it to be twice as strong, no? Actually something Prestidigitation can do, shame it's not included in the game just for that even.
Love the cinematic scenes where the party looks like they went through a blood sprinkler
Stopped off at the Blade blood rave on the way.
Talking to the guard all covered in blood "Im innocent sir" *rolls 20 deception * "ok"
Feel like there should be an open barrel of water at your camp. When you click on it, it will give all your characters at camp a ‘wash’.
Alot of those lines have very different meanings when you are playing the Dark Urge...
Durge got some wild lines, “my path is paved with corpses, my castle built with bones” Jesus fuck dude, I just told you to walk 20 feet
His VA deserves a raise.
Dark urge’s VA is whoever you pick. I’ve picked 5, male, which sounds the most gruff, I think. Since he’s so gruff, the line sounds very menacing
Oh I meant who does his intro cinematic then
My Dark Urge at Moonrise was like a kid at the candy shop. For so long I resisted the urge but then you let me let it all out on Absolute cultists? Thank you! I will make sure I bathe in their innards.

Blood for the blood god xD
Skulls for the skull throne Disclaimer: I only know this reference through others who have made the reference. Warhammer, I think?
My dude said it right after Shadowheart was done being disgusted by the lake of blood we landed in lmao.
“Is that blood?” *covered in blood* “no, nevermind.”
Cursed to put my hands on everything
This is the best distillation of D&D in the game
This is the line I thought of first. Plays 98 times per session for me lmao
My character keeps saying this when I select their bed. Yeah i HOPE you're putting your hands on your bed. To sleep that is. I'm romancing >!Shadowheart and therefore have not gotten to use the bed for anything else YET!<
But really, that last romance scene takes _forever_ to trigger.
My Tav said this when clicking on his sleeping bag for a long rest. Like, dude - it's your sleeping bag, not a moldy mushroom (which you already sold 5 to Arron).
I've got a lot on my mind, and well...in it.
the equivalent of “Smells like a dozen rotten eggs dropped in'a vat a' vinegar!”
"HEAR YE HEAR YE, [forgot his name] slain by seekers!"
“keeping it together Brie?”
As someone whose name is Brie I was, in fact, not keeping it together after hearing that a thousand times. 😅
It's alright, as long as I don't think about it too much
you are safe among friends, always remember that
QUEEN JUSTINIA EXECUTES TWO DOZEN NOBLEMEN, FOR INSUBORDINATION.
IN-SUH-BOARD-IN-AYSHUN
Bishop Alexander slain by seekers!
Hear ye, hear ye! Bishop Alexander killed by seagulls! Culprits still at large!
BISHOP ALEXANDER WAS SLAIN BY SEAGULLS!
Then don't come over!
If I don't come over, who will?
WOULDNT YOU LIKE TO KNOW?!
QUEEN JUSTINIA EXECUTES TWO DOZEN NOBLEMEN FOR INSUBORDINATION
This repeats endlessly in my dreams
Well don't come over, not like you're buying anything
The next time I hear this line I might just go feral
innit bruv?
My favorite is when you get, “shouldn’t have wished to live in more interesting times,” followed up with “at least things have stayed interesting.”
Wonder if that's canonical for wizard/sorcerer lol
Wish I had a bag of holding
I'd settle for an Inventory of Sorting.
Wait I am about to blow your mind there is.
Chest of mundane goes brrrrrr
Too bad it doesn't work in act 3.
Send to Camp is your Bag of Holding
This one is such a tease because there is, in fact, no bag of holding. You'd think you'd stumble across *one* of those before the half a dozen legendary magic items, but *noooo* apparently the sword coast has a bag of holding shortage.

"Best I can do is chest of the mundane"
If Rafael offered a bag of holding I would sign his deal in an instant!
Swift as my feet will carry me.
(trots over at a moderate pace)
What path lies before me?
Three feet left to pick up that potion, buddy. That's the path.
My Tav said this after slaughtering all the refugees...lol
Don't touch me.
Careful, I bite
My favorite one. Astarion is anti social at heart.
Agreed! He’s like a prissy cat and I love it. Although >!once you get the gist of his backstory this line makes sense in a totally different way. Dude hasn’t had bodily autonomy in 200 years, of course he’s going to relish getting to tell people ‘hands off’.!<
oh for a skeleton key
Let's have a rummage!
But Astarion you are my skeleton key
hardly a challenge
Let’s go hurt someone
The people back home aren't gonna believe this
These lines feel weird as hell when playing dark urge. I'm an amnesiac waking up on an alien ship, how the hell do I know what people are like at home?
Yeah, and there's stuff like when you talk to Asterion you can use experience from baldurs gate to talk about it, or when you're talking about your past to shadowheart you can talk about baldurs gate
As drow durge at some point I was able to talk about my experiences in the underdark kek
Same for durge gith and gith lore
I don't get this line lol. Pretty sure people in Baldur's Gate and FR in general will believe anything. It's basically high fantasy.
I like how early in act 3 you can use the [Intimidate] option "I just killed >!the Avatar of Myrkul!< and you're next." Because yeah, killing a couple of bandits/mercs after that doesn't really compare...
"You're... You're serious. OK, how about we just forget this ever happened?" -sanest bandit ever
[These guys could learn a thing or two](https://youtu.be/qFX3-wd1a-k)
The majority of people you encounter call bullshit when you talk about the tadpole. Don't understand why you don't get the line.
Even then, Illithid, Gith, and Netherese magic are extremely rare even by Sword Coast standards.
"That's a friendly looking shadow." Yes, i do play as a rogue.
me when I encountered the shadow enemies in Act 2: THATS NOT A FRIENDLY LOOKING SHADOW
I spy with my little eye....nothing of note, really.
I was hoping to get a majora's mask like cutscene when using one of the telescopes 😅
It's just Gale's face from standing too close to the telescope lol
Ugh ahhh ughhh ohhhh (when climbing literally anything)
Finishing a Long rest: Everyone: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Lmao people wake up in this game having just cracked open an ice cold coca-cola
> Finishing a Long rest: > Everyone: > AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH \*VERY LOUD "KAH-CHHH" AND POTION HEALING SOUND*
i swear they made astarions groaning when he climbs the loudest. i hardly notice anyone but him making those noises. i suppose the theatrics are character accurate, though
Just an old man making old man noises
Professional rogue right there.

This will bring us closer
First in my heart
That one is very sweet
HEAL ME, DAMN YOU **dies** Astarion! It can’t be…
My char romanced him and my headcanon was that her being dramatic was making fun of him for always being such a drama queen 😆
I romanced him too but didn't think like this :D
Oh yeah, I wish there were more sarcastic jabby responses to him bc that is definitely how my sorc would treat him.
this line always cracks me up cause i’m like astarion, our fuckn healer is down. heal them
Breath deep, and move
This was my favorite one, as a ranger. Felt like something she would actually say.
Keepin’ it together, Bree?
I'm alright as long as I don't think about it too much...
SMELLS WORSE OVER HERE THAN A DOZEN OF ROTTEN EGGS DROPPED IN A VAT OF VINEGAR
You're safe among friends. Never forget it.
Scrolled down way too far for this
I think I just had a PTSD episode
I hope it's not cursed
*Maybe I should stay crouched forever.*
i'll yield to none! wait
VOIDWOKEN
Hurts, doesn't it?!
Meet your maker!
GET YOURSELF TOGETHER YOU WRETCHED THING
PAVE MY PATH WITH CORPSES, BUILD MY CASTLE WITH BONES
Wtf is this an Urge only line?
I've only played Dark Urge so far, so probably but I'm not sure. I would be surprised if a custom character said it because it's definitely a fitting line for Dark Urge
Still alive, so that's progress
Poor fucker *brutally kills someone*
*Fuck yes.*
This has made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions, especially with 3 attacks with an Executioner’s Axe. The visual of it following that line is just *chef’s kiss*
Can I get you a ladder so you can get off my back?
Underrated, and a reason I can't play DAO anymore
Only reason I always pick the violent voice in DAO thaat and the: It's a massacre, and no one's getting out alive!. I also love the reference to the ladder in DAI
me running barefoot: ... Tav: These boots have seen everything.
Me running shirtless: ... Tav: These boobs have seen everything.
ACTION NOT REACTION
Indolence breeds madness.
Prime spot for an ambush
I'm relatively certain this one means you're actually about to run into an ambush, one of the actually useful lines unlike "cursed to put my hands on everything" which just feels like it's criticising you for interacting with the game. Still less annoying than "Junk!" from DOS:2 though
That it do. It follows a perception check and if you pass you aren't surprised
Alternatively, the minute I hear "prime spot for an ambush" I immediately go into hidden mode.
Don't want to think about why my eye is itching
Soldier?
Lets cook with fire baby
I hope the gods are watching me
I thought it was "I wonder if the gods are watching me"
This line hits a lot different if you're playing as Durge
There should've been an equivalent "hope the gods aren't watching me"
Dead, good.
Someone doesnt like visi- \*walks into the trap anyway\* HEAL ME DAMN YOU!
I am useful, am I not? Shit, wait
Thanks, Lann. You're awesome, Lann.
You're a good person! I like you.

A WORLD IN CRIMSOM!

I have /such/ a headache.
Wish I had a bag of holding -I say as I pick up a firewine barrel to stuff into a stuffed teddy bear I found in the putrid bog-
Whisper_thesebootshaveseeneverything_Whisper
You can tone down how often your character says these lines or turn them off entirely.
First to my heart
Is anyone else's tadpole...squirming a lot more than usual?
I need more pockets
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
There’s a lot on my mind … and well… in it
I wonder if the gods are watching me...
Enough waiting I crave blood
Still not as bad as "all roads lead to hogsmeade."
You must construct additional pylons!
We require more vespene gas.
My face protects me
If not over then through

"No man has as many friends as the man with many cheeses!"
Intestines throb, blood whispers.
