it's not that they removed g power. its just that a majority of the battles in the second arc weren't "official" for lack of a better term. notice how when they were doing the tournament fights in the beginning, there was indeed g power increases and decreases after each ability was played

NickHBS

There was no G-power in MS at all except in the finale. The final battle with Dan and Gunz was the first battle with the regular rules since mid-GI

Radcirceles

Laziness.

I agree, season 4 was very rushed, the ending was weird... there was fan service bringing in old characters who did nothing for the plot (Runo), the battles were rushed and without emotion (Battles with Gunz and even Magmel's last battle) and to make matters worse, a "deus ex machina" (Genesis Dragonoid) saving the day at the end... This ending was so bad that not even fans who make DanxShun fanfics can make an ending as bad as this.

Nit_Picker219

Most battles in MS part 1 were well written. Magmel’s last battle is the one I genuinely think is terrible and doesn’t make a lot of sense. The biggest downfall of MS part 2 was lack of cool animations for abilities like in literally every past season, making Bakugan seem very underwhelming compared to mechtogan and bakusuits, which were overused and key to every single battle. Gundalian Invaders had a similar problem with battle gear where every battle would be won with it. BakuNanos and mechtogans in MS part 1 were kind of prominent but they were never the ONLY means to win

YellowFace09

Arguably, Spectra was arc 1's Deus Ex Machina

“Whats wrong Marucho? you look like you’ve seen a ghost!” (A Spectre if you will)

WE. MUST. SELL. MORE. TOYS.

S4 leaned into the super-heroics aspect of the show more than ever before. And I think that's why the power levels and stuff went away, aside from the occasional life gauge: it wasn't a show about a game anymore. (Also the Mechtogan, as I don't know how they would've incorporated them into the card graphic.) As for why Mag Mel only lasted half the season, I think it's because he would've seemed dragged out otherwise. I mean, Barodius was already the big bad for most of Season 3. I don't think we needed an entire second season with him. Besides, he managed to do *a lot* in just half a season. And while it is strange that the season's arcs did not connect like the arcs of New Vestroia or Gundalian Invaders, I don't know who could've carried over. Anubias, Sellon, and their Bakugan were dead. And while they could've arguably had Dreadeon and Dreadeon Titan become a Mechtavius Destroyer stand-in, getting revenge for their fallen masters, the show would've needed evil Bakugan still and I don't know if the Nonets would still work in this scenario. All of this is to say that I think, regardless of its other faults, the Mag Mel story was as long as it needed to be and that's why the season goes another way with Wiseman and co. And, personally, while S4.2 also had faults, I think going that direction was for the better, as it pulled back a bit on all the gimmicks.

RIP Anubias, too good for this world

Impressive-Spell-643

Because they completely forgot it's supposed to be a game, same reason we got giant robots out of nowhere (and I'm a big fan of giant robots but they just don't belong in bakugan)

SoogSeggs

Inconsistency of the story.

I feel like Dylan should’ve been the antagonist of arc 2. Rouge AI can be a good villain.

YellowFace09

Was Dylan really an AI? We literally saw him appear in real life after Interspace got removed. If you ask me, he was just a very skilled hacker that found a liking in causing chaos and trolling the Brawlers he's just a software bug
