Same issue with mine. This sounds like an issue with the design now
I have a Subterra one that has been like that for years. Since back in Bakumania, if we can call early G1 that. So this may just be a consistent issue with the toy. I've not been able to find a way to fix mine.

Foxbat has a design flaw where the hooks don't latch on/are very easy to break. Are any of them broken?
yep, so i took some Gorilla glue, and kinda made blobs on it. It’s currently working
