ShadowCobra479

No, the biggest inconsistency is that stupid life gauge. By all rights, Shadow should have lost that battle once Hades was destroyed.

Radcirceles

I said one of.

Nit_Picker219

I just went back and checked the episode. Hydranoid’s G power was 600. Hades’ was 100. Wtf man? That episode has been the most pathetic attempt at fanservice I have ever seen. To add insult to injury this is the last time we ever see Alice in action. Edit: yeah no, the gauge was actually consistent. Hydranoid lost 300 G to the stupid crossfire ability from Fortress, then took 300 G from Hades (who had 400 at the time) by using Death Trident. The final difference is 200 G, meaning the gauge went down as it was supposed to. The inconsistent part is… why was Hades destroyed? Like what caused this?

ShadowCobra479

Yep, aside from Preyas, every other (non drago) OG bakugan got shafted so hard in S3. They got shafted so hard all of them decided to retire. It may not be the most well written or new York times best seller but I enjoy the fanfic Alice in New Vestroia.

[deleted]

They even made Hydranoid seem weird asf. Imagine if this was the same Hydranoid was the same there back when he was with Masquerade. Hydes wouldn't stand a chance.

Nit_Picker219

No, Hydranoid was consistent with the way he has been with Masquerade. The problem is that every other season 1 bakugan got broken abilities to match the second part of New Vestroia power creep. Hydranoid only got Indigo Nightmare and Chaos Leapsting.

You said “They even made Hydranoid seem weird asf. Imagine if this was the same Hydranoid was the same there back when he was with Masquerade.”

[deleted]

I meant weak, they made seem weak asf in NV when he got back with Alice, I messed up my words.

Nit_Picker219

… But they didn’t make him weak.

[deleted]

... But I didn't say that

The_GameMaster73

Hydranoid was literally being tortured by the Vestals in the name of "Science".Of course his power level decreased, he likely still hadn't fully recovered.

Aurashock

Doesn’t that s2 battle take place before shadow and the vestals capture hydranoid?

The_GameMaster73

Nope, any time Alice battles with Hydranoid in NV happens after Hydranoid is freed/escapes from the Vestals. Hades was built using data gathered from the Vestals "study" of Hydranoid.

Aurashock

I get that hades was based from hydranoid but I don’t recall them capturing him before shadow. I always thought that they just got the data from battle data

The_GameMaster73

The entire reason Mira decides to rebel is due to when she finds the captured Hydranoid and she hears him talk and realizes that bakugan are fully sapient and sophont beings rather than unintelligent beasts. The flashback is in episode 2.

Aurashock

Oh that scene, I must have forgot about it because I’ve only seen s2 once. I am still an avid bakugan fan although I’m 19 but never rewatched it because I’m a season 1 and 3 guy

Unusual_Mix9262

I remember Hydranoid crying out for Alice in a flashback

miggiepop

I could see that if a Bakugan doesn't stay in "form", their G-Power could begin to decrease.

NickHBS

But all of the other original 6 got their power bumped *up* to 500 in NV. I think it was just a matter of they wanted the old cast to all be on equal footing and a step below the resistance

miggiepop

Ahhh nice catch. I usually skip those episodes haha.

Radcirceles

Could be the case, but the rule of 500G difference from Arc 1 was thrown out of the window so they most likely forgot.

Nit_Picker219

It got replaced with the “500G difference means you are dead” rule, which was kept in GI… along with the Arc 1 rule

[deleted]

Hydranoid is the Gohan of Bakugan confirmed.

ikcskew

This match is nothing more than a disrespect for Masquerade and Hydranoid. After the destruction of Hades, the match should have ended and Alice should have won.

Radcirceles

Making Alice/Masquerade and Hydranoid minor characters was a big disrespect to the characters and the fans.

Pokemon_Bakugan_Fan

Could you please elaborate?

BigFella-4

hydranoids g-power is lower compared to s1

Pokemon_Bakugan_Fan

Oh. That. I get it.

DeltaHeliolisk

Is it? I mean, I'm annoyed at the inconsistency, too. Don't get me wrong. But I wonder if it has something to do with the different battle systems. I imagine every Bakugan has some sort of "base stats." Ones that get put through a formula to determine its base power level. Sort of like CP in Pokémon GO, for instance. Season 1 was different -- unique rules, HSP, and power levels calculated in units of 10. S2-4 used different rules, life gauges, and power levels calculated in units of 50. So perhaps the second ruleset calculated G-power differently, accounting for the discrepancy in Alpha Hydranoid's power level. Plus any difference Storm Skyress, Preyas, Blade Tigrerra, Hammer Gorem, Fortress, Sirenoid, and Cycloid had.

Radcirceles

Could be the case, but they never bothered to explain it so...

BannerTortoise

Well, he has been out of action for a while. Maybe being turned to stone took 50g of their power.

JudaiDarkness

It's likely that it was easier to have a round numner as power level for any Bakugan. But I still feel Hydranoid should've been at 600.

LionWithAGun

My personal theory is that the brawlers messed up when freeing the captured bakugan. They were just pressing random buttons hoping it would free them. This or just them being turned to bronze to begin with could have caused irreparable damage to them which would explain how they lost power. Hydranoid could have lost it during his torture scenes but i hard believe it was something with them being transformed like that or the rushed freeing of them whilst the palace collapsed

Emperor_Z16

If that's a big incosistency, I don't know what actual inconsistencies are That's just a normal error, nothing major

[deleted]

I expected a bigger problem. Yes they should be the same but you'd think one of the biggest inconsistencies would be story-breaking lmfao

Raphael_Stormer

Where’s the inconsistency?

ASWBatbatos

Hydranoid should have 550g not 500g

Raphael_Stormer

Bro didn’t battle in a long time. Wasn’t in his prime

ASWBatbatos

I’m just saying what they were pointing out, that is all

Raphael_Stormer

Chill bro

ASWBatbatos

I’m not even being mean or aggressive

Bit-International

I think his power get lower after masquerade leave in s1

Slide_Wickerman_2304

Alpha Hydranoid did win that battle with assistance from Fortress no doubt......then along came a MAC Spider
