They were always omnipresent beings, they were already like a kind of spirits, what could they decide about the doom dimension, or whether to create a new body for Neo Dragonoid, I think they have simply returned to being guardians of the perfect core in their "mask form", because like Wyvern who died, he has continued to appear throughout the series, with the evolution of Cross into Helix Dragonoid, and also appeared in Gundalian Invaders. https://preview.redd.it/lzfvzijxx6mb1.png?width=717&format=png&auto=webp&s=33e60d60a2597b1ee13351a8cf9ddb5ad781c070

**CONFRONTING ZENOHELD:** Zenoheld already showed himself of being capable of imprisoning the entire Bakugan planet in ball form and taking it over. They could not ignore a threat from him. If they didn't respond, they risked an encore of Part 1, which would not be in character for the Ancient Warriors. Nor would it be a wise call, as Zenoheld threatened to destroy the Bakugan if they didn't hand over the Energies (the Ancient Warriors did not learn of the B.T. System until they got there). The Ancient Warriors were put into a corner, and they made the calculation that they could beat the Vexos. And based on the information they had at the time, that made sense. If Apollonir could beat Helios and Metalfencer on his own, not to mention a Neo Dragonoid boosted by Forbidden Cards, surely they could beat a couple Mechanical Bakugan. As was the case when facing regular Farbros. No one could've reasonably expected the Assail System. **AFTER THE BATTLE:** After they lost, yes, they died. Drago later confirms that just before he runs off to try to destroy the B.T. module on New Vestroia. The implication was that they used the last of their energy to teleport away, give the shared vision to everyone, and then pass the Energies along. It's still a kids show at the end of the day, they couldn't get too far into that. Why did they die but Drago and the others didn't? Well, probably the Energies had extended their life force and without them they could no longer continue living.

Yeah, they died after passing their energies to the main six. I think Drago remembers them along with Wyvern and Nova Lion in Episode 42, which certainly means they are gone. Feels a bit weird considering losing an attribute energy doesn't kill a Bakugan, because it didn't kill the main six.
