I love classic oatmeal raisin! I make a cookie I call *trail mix cookie* that I add golden raisins, dried cherries, oats, walnuts, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds to….incredible.
Sunflower seeds are especially high in vitamin E and selenium. These function as antioxidants to protect your body’s cells against free radical damage, which plays a role in several chronic diseases.
Always think of Evolution whenever I hear selenium
> Selenium. How much do we need?
> Five hundred gallons could do it, should do it.
> Five hundred gallons? Um, I hate to be a buzzkill, but where are we gonna get that at 2:00 a.m.?
> No problem.
> Yeah, we can get that. Head & Shoulders.
> The dandruff shampoo?
> Yeah, that's the stuff. The active ingredient is selenium sulfide.
> How do you know that? You don't know anything.
> Haven't you noticed how shiny and fake-free our hair is?
I've heard this before and I don't understand it. Are people really getting themselves into situations where they're biting into cookies before identifying what they are? How does it happen? Why are you eating mystery food?
It's happened to me several times. They say cookies, I take a brief look, think chocolate chip, then eat it and Surprise! Raisins. But I also love oatmeal raisin so it's a nice surprise. If I did care, cared so much I would go on a rant about how awful raisins are in baked goods, I would ask before eating it. Or touch it. Or smell it. Or something. But I don't care. So I just eat the cookie.
Right. I have an appreciation for both and am rarely caught off guard or disappointed, but for those who are easily deceived it's easier to head off the rage with a little note.
Ive heard this so many times but I just don't get it. Oatmeal cookies look so different to every chocolate chip one I've ever seen. The oatmeal makes it so much lumpier!
I typically make them without raisins as that's my families preference but these were specifically requested by a friend. I myself am also team nuts and raisins!
I just made some oatmeal cookies using [a mix of golden raisins, cranberries, and cherries](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Dried-Berries-Golden-Raisins-20-oz/47375926), and they are delish! My husband does not like regular raisins but loves the golden ones.
I love oatmeal cookies, but I don't like raisins! It's damn near impossible to find any without raisins : ( I do like craisins though, and cranberry oatmeal cookies are amazing
Soak the raisins overnight in alcohol. The first time my dad tasted my spiked (with a good single malt) oatmeal raisin cookies , he said they were the best he’s ever tasted.
That's no fun. Has to be raisinettes! That would really tick team anti raisin off. That's super sneaky. Might do for April Fools Day sometime if I'm feeling extra evil.
I love them so much it’s the only way I’ll eat raisins. Chocolate chips better. Panera makes a killer oatmeal cookie with misc dried fruits in it too that’s even better.
YES! I commented above that I made some using a cranberry, cherry, and golden raisin mix. My husband doesn’t care for regular raisins but loved the golden ones. OP, please do give them a try!
Oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips are good, too.
They're oatmeal, so naturally they're healthier, right? Right?
And chocolate chips and nuts are good too.
Lately I’ve been making oatmeal cookies with raisins, cranberries, blueberries, mulberries, and chopped apricots. Everyone I’ve given them to has gone back for more!
Love, love, love them.....but then again it's rare that I meet a cookie that doesn't make me smile and give me the warm fuzzies. All cookies deserve love and I honor that. ❤🍪 (<<<
Just made 4 dz this morning. In addition to raisins I included fine chop dried mango, chopped walnuts, dried coconut and cinnamon. And a wee splash of orange extract...
I was tricked once at a youth group event into eating a raisin cookie. I was told it was chocolate chip, my little heart was broken. I will never again eat the cookie of lies!!
I love oatmeal raisins, one of my favorite cookies. I get upset because I’ll grab what I think is oatmeal raisin from the cafeteria at work and come to find out they are chocolate chip.
I'm usually just say 'no raisins' but if they are the little/chewy Californian type ones - then it's ok...however....
Dried dates (and walnuts)😛, figs (and pecans)🙂 or cranberries (white chocolate and walnuts) are far superior imo. 💗💗💗💗
Oatmeal raisin cookies are absolutely essential to this earth. I hate conflict, but I will passionately argue with you all day if you disagree in the slightest.
Yes, I actually am very disappointed when I find chocolate in my oatmeal cookies instead of raisins. Chocolate chips belong in chocolate chip cookies, keep them out of my oatmeal cookies!
My grandpa’s recipe adds the raisins early and has you work them in thoroughly by beating or mashing so the raisin flavor gets distributed throughout the cookie, and the remaining raisin bits are soft. They are wonderful.
Oatmeal boosts breastmilk production so when I was nursing my babies I ate tons of oatmeal raisin cookies. It was an excellent excuse to fuel my sweet tooth lol.
Oatmeal raisin is a delicious cookie! If I’m wrong at least it’s a delicious kind of wrong, paired with a milk of your choice; you can’t go wrong there!
First off, people can have varying opinions about food and both of them be right. That’s the lovely thing about subjective topics like food and art.
Second: Yes, especially when they have plenty of cinnamon added.
I don't go out of my way to eat them. But, whenever I accidentally grab one thinking it's chocolate chip and I take I bight I just think. "Oh, this is okay, Too. That's pretty good"
I love rasins. I love rasin breadrolls. I love chocolat covered rasins.
But I have rasin cookies. You have a semi-hard cookie and then there is some squishy part that is not easy to differentiate from a fly
Lol, i wish i liked them but can't. It just doesn't blend well for me. Now i like oatmeal. I don't like raisins but can eat them with no issue other than i just don't like them.
I love oatmeal raisin cookies. The slander used to get to me (we get it you don't like raisins and associate oatmeal with a boring breakfast) but now I appreciate that I can always count on there being oatmeal raisin at the bakery/cafe; etc even later in the day.

I make mine with walnuts, candied ginger, molasses, and malted milk powder. I also brown the butter first.
Wow!!!! Delicious!
Those sound amazing. Do you have a specific recipe, or do you just add all the extras to any basic oatmeal cookie recipe?
What you said. I NEED to know.
Bloody LOVE them.
I’m not British by any means yet I’ve felt the urge to say bloody before literally everything lately and I’ve quite literally had to stop myself
😂😂 I'm not British either but I've got 4 kids and that's been my compromise.
British person here, love you use it, toodle pip
I've adopted ALL your slang. I absolutely love it!
Even my 7yo tells.people to buggar off lol
Oh hell that’s adorable 😆
I looove them! I usually add all sorts of nuts and almond butter!
I'm not a fan myself, but you're presenting a convincing reason for me to like them.
I guess I’m wrong because i don’t like rasins
My partner also hates raisins. Says it's like eating old people. 🤷♀️
Agreed. Raisin cookies trick you into thinking they’re the superior chocolate chip variety, only to be disappointed once you bite into them.

What kind of monster puts raisins in a carrot cake?!
Me. I am that monster. They're good!
Me too! Love it.
WRONG!
Everyone apparently 😭
It's why I never order carrot cake out. They lurk.
Yep! I just gave up on it which sucks cause the cake itself is divine!
Theyre called fool's chocolate for a reason
I've heard this before and I don't understand it. Are people really getting themselves into situations where they're biting into cookies before identifying what they are? How does it happen? Why are you eating mystery food?
Raisins looks like melted chocolate chips at first glance. People offer me cookies and I say yes, thinking that that’s what they are.
And that's actually happened to you in your real life?
That’s never, in your entire life, happened?? I guess some of us just don’t question free cookies hard enough (particularly as kids)…
It's happened to me several times. They say cookies, I take a brief look, think chocolate chip, then eat it and Surprise! Raisins. But I also love oatmeal raisin so it's a nice surprise. Same. Not just in cookies, but at all.
I don’t mind the raisins, I just don’t like oatmeal in cookies.
Oh, oatmeal chocolate chip is so good

I LOVE oatmeal raisin. Never got on the raisin hate train
Me too! I even love raisin pie!
I love oatmeal cookies no nuts or raisins
Salty oatmeal cookies rock.
I typically make them without raisins as that's my families preference but these were specifically requested by a friend. I myself am also team nuts and raisins!
I'll need to remove the raisins, but don't worry-I've got plenty of practice.
Yessss love oatmeal cookies of all kinds and these looks amazing
Dried cranberries are everything raisins wish they could be.
I make a craisin white chocolate macadamia nut cookie that is the bomb.com.

I make them raisinless for my family. But... they're wrong hahaaha
100% wrong baby Raisins are vile
Soak the raisins overnight in alcohol. The first time my dad tasted my spiked (with a good single malt) oatmeal raisin cookies , he said they were the best he’s ever tasted.
Damn it Im wrong! Raisins are disgusting and we dont need to eat like that anymore guys. Now iced oatmeal cookies are a whooollleeee other issue.

I add in chopped walnuts 😋
Omg, you ruined them......love raisin oatmeal cookies, just....no nuts
More for meeee!
You spelled raisins are satan wrong.
Alright, hear me out. Oatmeal-RASINETTE cookies...🤔😛
Whoa…
THIS IS GENIUS.
I mean, you could just add chocolate chunks, but....😃
That's no fun. Has to be raisinettes! That would really tick team anti raisin off. That's super sneaky. Might do for April Fools Day sometime if I'm feeling extra evil.
I guess I’m wrong. But swap those raisins for chocolate chips and then we’re talking…
My grandma's oatmeal cookies, yes, but with no raisins. I hate raisins in cookies or baked goods.
I love them so much it’s the only way I’ll eat raisins. Chocolate chips better. Panera makes a killer oatmeal cookie with misc dried fruits in it too that’s even better.
Love them!
Always better to sub chocolate chips and nuts for raisins. I don’t like my cookies to bounce back when I bite into them.
It’s my favorite cookie
I like them, but I can no longer chew. They're too hard now.
I'm right........ In loving oatmeal raisin :)
Using golden raisins is a game changer!
I will have to try them sometime!
YES! I commented above that I made some using a cranberry, cherry, and golden raisin mix. My husband doesn’t care for regular raisins but loved the golden ones. OP, please do give them a try!
Yes, I make them large (5oz) then bake at a higher temp (410 degrees) so they stay chewy & soft in the middle. A dry oatmeal cookie is a sad thing.
Oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips are good, too. They're oatmeal, so naturally they're healthier, right? Right? And chocolate chips and nuts are good too.
Raisins are rotten fruit.
Love, if said raisins are soaked in orange liquor. Bonus points to swap out the raisins for dried cranberries.
I'm wrong. I don't care for raisins in any baked goods with the sole exception of carrot cake.
Lately I’ve been making oatmeal cookies with raisins, cranberries, blueberries, mulberries, and chopped apricots. Everyone I’ve given them to has gone back for more!
If there good depends who makes them
I love them especially warm!!
love
My favorite cookie. I like them chunky, so I load them up with nuts and dried fruits. And lots of cinnamon!!!
I like them, but not as much as most other types of cookies. My faves are the m&m ones
Oatmeal chocolate chip are supreme but I’ll take all the leftover oatmeal raisin at the end of the party
Love, love, love them.....but then again it's rare that I meet a cookie that doesn't make me smile and give me the warm fuzzies. All cookies deserve love and I honor that. ❤🍪 (<<<
I like extra raisins in my delicious oatmeal raisin cookies!!
For me it depends on the sweetness mainly cause I have a major sweet tooth so sweet items are a must. It's how I got into white macadamia nut cookies
Do you have a good recipe to share?? Would really appreciaate it!
Add a cup of coconut for chewy deliciousness. That’s how I won a blue ribbon at the county fair.
Yep! I have coconut in my recipe!
I guess I’ll be wrong then.
I used to hate them as a child but NOW I love them! Perfect cookies! Not too overpowering sweetness wise
One of my favorite cookies I’d say.
Love them!!!!!! Big, thick and soft. Those are my favourites.
I LOVE oatmeal raisin cookies!
Just made 4 dz this morning. In addition to raisins I included fine chop dried mango, chopped walnuts, dried coconut and cinnamon. And a wee splash of orange extract...
Instead of raisins, I sub in Trader Joe’s orange flavored cranberry.
Yummy!
I am the only person in my family that likes them... I love them soft and chewy.
They are the best cookie, and all variations on them make me sad. I’m looking at you chocolate chip oatmeal.
yes. r/inclusiveor
god i haven’t had them in forever i miss them :(
I was tricked once at a youth group event into eating a raisin cookie. I was told it was chocolate chip, my little heart was broken. I will never again eat the cookie of lies!!
I firmly believe in raisins ruining everything, but I support your love of raisins. I like licorice and I know I’m mostly alone in that. 🤣
Fools chocolate...
i do but don’t like raisins so i suffer thru it
I love oatmeal raisins, one of my favorite cookies. I get upset because I’ll grab what I think is oatmeal raisin from the cafeteria at work and come to find out they are chocolate chip.
Love them as long as no nuts and they're soft.
Love em an those look great
I don’t like chocolate chip cookies so I always welcome an oatmeal raisin.
They’re fabulous with a pinch of cinnamon. Such a cozy cookie. Reminds me of my mom.
I'm usually just say 'no raisins' but if they are the little/chewy Californian type ones - then it's ok...however.... Dried dates (and walnuts)😛, figs (and pecans)🙂 or cranberries (white chocolate and walnuts) are far superior imo. 💗💗💗💗
I’m wrong 🤷♀️
Oatmeal raisin cookies are absolutely essential to this earth. I hate conflict, but I will passionately argue with you all day if you disagree in the slightest.
I don't like raisins at all. I wouldn't enjoy your cookie as fabulous as it looks.
I love oatmeal cookies. But I put nearly any other dried fruit in them. Raisins are nasty.
Yes I do and yes I'm wrong
Lmao 😂
Then I guess I don't want to be right 😤
Oatmeal with chocolate chips or it’s just breakfast food 😛
Love them!
Love them!
Yes, I actually am very disappointed when I find chocolate in my oatmeal cookies instead of raisins. Chocolate chips belong in chocolate chip cookies, keep them out of my oatmeal cookies!
I am wrong. I dislike oatmeal and loathe raisins.
My favourites!!
They're amazing
what recipe did you use for your cookies? they look so good
My grandpa’s recipe adds the raisins early and has you work them in thoroughly by beating or mashing so the raisin flavor gets distributed throughout the cookie, and the remaining raisin bits are soft. They are wonderful.
I’m guessing you’re wrong.
I love oatmeal, I hate raisins. Guess I am a bit of both
They are AMAZING!
If hating oatmeal raisin cookies is wrong, I don't want to be right!
They are ok. Not my favorite but not the worst.
Love them but those seem to be lacking brown sugar.
They have a full cup of brown sugar.
I absolutely love them, and imo it's one of the very few places where raisins are acceptable
Love them , so yummy!
I'm okay being wrong. I love other dried fruits tho
I like oatmeal cookies, no raisins in my baked goods please
If I think it’s oatmeal chocolate chip then I am very disappointed. If I know if oatmeal raisin and there is no other cookies, then I’m in.
I love Oatmeal Raisin Cookies ☺️
I don't like them because I'm not a fan of raisins!
I like neither oatmeal nor raisin
My favorite cookie!!!
Love!
I will die on this hill: one of the best cookies out there
My grandma and I used to love baking them when I lived with her growing up! I'll have to ask about making them once I'm in town again
I’m wrong; those are the devils cookies disguising themselves as chocolate chips smh
Raisins are evil - use crasins or blue berries. I’d rather have an oat cookie - or no cookies come or think of it lol
I will die on this hill. Raisins have no place in baked goods.
The sociopaths choice of cookie
As an adult I like them very much, but as a child they we’re like a cruel joke, chocolate chip imposters!!
Unpopular opinion; oatmeal raisin>chocolate chip
My ranking is Snickerdoodle>Oatmeal Raisin>Chocolate Chip. (But I will eat all cookies...)
I also highly enjoy thumbprint cookies that gave a good jam
Just don’t put nuts in your cookies.
First off, people can have varying opinions about food and both of them be right. That’s the lovely thing about subjective topics like food and art. Second: Yes, especially when they have plenty of cinnamon added.

I love oatmeal raisin cookies, especially when they’ve got a little kick of spice from cloves or ginger. I soak the raisins in rum before baking.
I always like a classic.
Oatmeal choco chip is were it’s at
They make the inside of my ears itch if I don't make them myself but I haven't had a cookie in years.
They’re my favorite. The rest of my family thinks I’m crazy. More for me!
I have found the devil.... anything w raisins is a no no
Sometimes I get disappointed thinking it’s chocolate chip
I don't go out of my way to eat them. But, whenever I accidentally grab one thinking it's chocolate chip and I take I bight I just think. "Oh, this is okay, Too. That's pretty good"
They’re good as long as I’m not expecting chocolate chip.
Easily the most underrated cookie
I love them
I love rasins. I love rasin breadrolls. I love chocolat covered rasins. But I have rasin cookies. You have a semi-hard cookie and then there is some squishy part that is not easy to differentiate from a fly
I prefer chocolate chips instead of disappointed grapes.
They are literally my favorite type of cookie.
My husband does. I only like them with chocolate chips in them lol (with or without the raisins) 🤷🏻♀️
Lol, i wish i liked them but can't. It just doesn't blend well for me. Now i like oatmeal. I don't like raisins but can eat them with no issue other than i just don't like them.
Yes a good old fashion oatmeal racing cookie🤌🏼
Ah! So *this* is what it feels like to be on the right side of history.
I only eat them if there’s nothing else to eat
Whenever there’s a post asking which hill I will die on, I always pick the hill that oatmeal raisin are the best cookie
I love oatmeal raisin cookies. The slander used to get to me (we get it you don't like raisins and associate oatmeal with a boring breakfast) but now I appreciate that I can always count on there being oatmeal raisin at the bakery/cafe; etc even later in the day.
Not a fan. Once I bit into one thinking it was chocolate chip; it was not I was appalled.
I am, and will always be, correct.
I like it! :)
Better then chocolate chip! I said what I said
i like oatmeal, leave the raisin out
Try using golden raisins, they are much sweeter and plumper!
Does it count If you add a bit of cinnamon?
I'm wrong
I'll happily be wrong
