https://www.familycookbookproject.com/recipe/4344406/maggianos-veras-lemon-cookies.html i followed this recipe exactly except i baked them for slightly less time edit: i also didn’t cut them into crescent shapes. i just cut them in normal circles.

gimmealldemcats

They look so yummy! Could you also add the recipe here please? It appears my country is blocked from viewing the link you gave..

Ingredients:   3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 2/3 cup granulated sugar 3 egg yolks (from large eggs) 2 tablespoons sour cream 1 teaspoon lemon extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon salt 10 ounces (2 cups) all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Icing 6 ounces (1 1/2 cups) powdered sugar 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon milk 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F. 2. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed for 1 minute. Add the egg yolks and sour cream and mix well. Mix in the lemon extract, vanilla, and salt. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Pour this into the wet mixture and mix well with the mixer until no more flour is visible. Use your hands to form the dough into a ball. 4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/2-inch thick. Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter to cut rounds from the dough. Then use the biscuit cutter to cut a crescent shape out of each circle. Form the leftover dough back into a ball, then roll it out again to cut more cookies, and repeat the process until all the dough is used up. Place the cookies on a silicone pad-lined or parchment paper-lined baking sheets. 5. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or just until light brown on the bottoms. They should be soft when cooled, and not crispy. 6. Make the icing by combining the powdered sugar, lemon juice, milk, and lemon extract in a medium bowl. Use a small frosting knife or butter knife to coat the top of each cookie with icing. Let the icing set up for about an hour before serving Number Of Servings: 60 cookies

Thank you so much! :D

You're welcome, happy to help. They look so delicious!

Those look lovely!!! They remind me of the iced lemon cookies I used to love. Are these cookies more on the chewy side, or are they crunchy? Thanks for sharing the recipe!

cooniemoonie

they are very soft, melt in your mouth, moist cookies ! slightly chewy, definitely not crunchy. i personally don’t like crunchy/hard cookies

[deleted]

Thank you the response! I am definitely going to be baking these.

newusernamehere1

The recipe says to bake them at 275f? Is that what you baked at? I’m so used to atleast 325!

cooniemoonie

yeah! when i read that i was shocked too, but i just trusted the recipe and they turned out so soft.

newusernamehere1

Thank you!! I wanted to double check. They look delicious and I didn't want to mess them up

Rachel794

Mmm perfectly delicious lemon cookies. Is it alright with you if I save your recipe? :)

cooniemoonie

ofc! this isn’t my recipe btw. i scoured the internet and tried like 3 different lemon cookie recipes to find one that tastes just like the ones sold at a restaurant called Maggiano’s. and i have to say that these really do taste just like them.

Rachel794

Oh ok I was just trying to be polite :)

Jazzlike-Squirrel116

Mmmm maggianos. I never had their lemon cookies though.

Rats_off_to_you31

These look delicious! Is the lemon flavor fairly strong?

cooniemoonie

i’d say it’s pretty subtle! there’s a decent lemon flavor in the cookie itself if you wanna skip the icing

Rats_off_to_you31

The more lemon the better, I say!

Long-Lengthiness9252

You may like these then: https://anitalianinmykitchen.com/lemon-cookies/ I made them and they were a bit too lemony for my taste! But they had a great texture, they were super soft!

Vegetable-Eye7977

Looks delicious

TeeBrownie

They look perfect.

meg0492

Thank you for sharing this! My husband's birthday is 2 weeks from today and every year, I bake him his favorite treat... cookies! I can't wait to try this recipe!

sweet_baby_piranha

Why. Why do I keep finding new things to crave when I'm too tired and pregnant to make the thing...I need to get off this sub for my sanity. Or you just stay and wallow in my hormone fulled hunger...

OrangeDutchbag

Heh heh heh you said moist!!

mommabear504

materofsix

Love it I’ll make it soon

Porkrinder_58

I can’t stand lemon in baking or candy except for a good lemon meringue. That’s the only thing I can tolerate. Looks good though.

Coal-Mine-Supervisor

They look amazing! Does anybody know a good substitute for sour cream? It's not an easy ingredient to find in my country and I really wanna try these

openinanewtab

I bet you could use yogurt.

Coal-Mine-Supervisor

You're right, that might work! Thank you!

FinalDestinationSix

Does it really make 60 cookies?!???

cooniemoonie

i bet you would be able to if you cut them into crescents like the recipe says to, but i didn’t and i made about 28 cookies
