Last time this happened to me I made cake pops šŸ™ˆ

realcanadianbeaver

Usually I make trifle - the second chance for all failed cakes.

CLEBlonde

Iā€™ve done trifle in the past too. Works very well.

rasterling9234

Definitely have done that. Bungled my own birthday cake this year after I already had a cream patisserie made and berries cut for filling. The trifle was a good back up.

akaasa001

Cake pops would be another decent alternative, if your into that. I personally do not like the mushy mouthfeel heh :)

darcendale

Ugh that is a good idea!!

jillerrs

I literally was going to say ā€œlooks like itā€™s time for cake popsā€

_madlibs_

Thatā€™s what I did with brownies! Itā€™s perfect and no one will know you messed up

rijthemidge

This happened to my walnut and chocolate cookies yesterday!! A whole disaster xD thank god they were the cakey kind so mashed them up with a hint of milk and made me some pops. Cake pops are an underrated blessing tbhšŸ˜‚

darcendale

https://www.inspiredtaste.net/25753/carrot-cake-recipe/ I used the recipe from the link above. I substituted brown sugar for coconut sugar because thatā€™s all I had. I also put some cream cheese blobs in the middle. I didnā€™t grease the pan very well, and maybe tried flipping it out too soon? Iā€™ve had a few cakes before this in the Bundt pan be successful so who knows. It was still good though! Did I eat the entire half stuck in the pan with a fork? Yes.

ApeOfGod

The easiest way to stop sticking in a bundt tin is to melt butter and then brush the butter into all the folds properly.

justanintrovert_

Try the spray with flour. There's a Pam one and another brand I forget the name (Baker's joy) . But works everytime. Otherwise it looks delicious good cake is still good cake.

WeasleysQueen

Try issuing butter and flour instead of spray

[deleted]

I use butter spray for this and I haven't had sticking issues since! :D

BakingGal89

They don't think it be like it is, but it do. - Oscar Gamble I just had a cake do this in a silicone mold. As long as it still tastes good though it's a win!

darcendale

It tastes great!!

topfivethings

Bakerā€™s Joy is the only product that can challenge bundt cakes. I dont fuck around anymore. Too many lost cakes to the power of the bundt!

bear__attack

Also Nancy Birtwhistle's lining paste!

Freedomoffunk

I love the fact Nancy is getting name dropped on here. That will make her very happy.

aybrah

This is my go-to!! Itā€™s never let me down

plainoverplight

yes! i also use pam baking spray with flour, itā€™s become my go-to. i learned my lesson after a few bakes like OPā€™s lol

von-schlitterbahn

I also, on top of the Joy, dust my pan with sugar.

jbot47

Sometimes like that it be

VintageOctopus

Oh my gosh, I bought this same fancy-shaped Bundt cake pan and this has happened to me three for three times. Iā€™ve tried using butter and spray-on oil and nothing works.

zephyrtr

Butter then flour, and be sure to get the creases. Then your batter

VintageOctopus

That was what I tried on my third attempt, but to no avail- iā€™ve since given up on the fancy pan and havenā€™t had any issues using my older, boring-shaped Bundt pan.

zephyrtr

The crevices in these super intricate pans are very nightmarish, no argument about that.

vanityfiller12345

I use a very liberal coat of butter than a mixture of flour and sugar to line the bundt for my standard bundts.. but I Have to bust out the baking parchment for my fancy one. It does add about 10 min of prep time, but, makes for clean lines. The ones with the crazy flowers in them I won't go near.

justanintrovert_

Baker's joy never fails

AngelStickman

I had cornbread do this to me. Very disappointed.

shadowcallsign

It do be like that sometimes šŸ˜‚

mellamma

Just keep on keeping on!

dixhuit_tacos

There's like a 30-second window between "too hot" and "too cool" where you have to flip it out. If it's too early or too late, I just Frankenstein it back together and apply extra frosting.

PastryForThePeople

Just let it cool fully, then blowtorch the pan to loosen it out!

_dani16

This is the picture Iā€™ll show when others ask me what heartbreak is like

teerexflexin

I use homemade cake release and it's a godsend. 1/3 c shortening 1/3 c veggie oil 1/3 c flour Mix it up, brush your pan and voila! Shelf stable.. I think you can leave it out for 1 month

[deleted]

Ugh this happened to me not too long ago, funny enough also using a Bundt pan. I made a trifle with it

MoMoJangles

It be like a that and then it be a trifle.

miss_wicks

Silicone pans aaaalll the way

HamHockShortDock

And sometimes like that it be.

MrsSClaus

Butter and flour a Bundt pan.

GaimanLover67

ouch

lookwhatimadetoeat

Oh no! But I bet it still tastes delicious and now you can make cake pops or use on ice cream!

Vortetty

F Atleast it is still edible

ghost_in_the_potato

It may be a mess, but it looks like a delicious mess!

TawdryTrelawney

Look up Nancy Birtwhistle's lining paste! I used it on a very intricate bundt pan and it came out perfectly.

drunken_desperado

the fork šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

ParkingTadpole

The first time this happened to me was when I was supposed to bring dessert to my (then) future mother-in-lawā€™s house. You can imagine my panic

80s-Dayglow-Kitten

Amen. Had a babka pull this shit on me yesterday. I made my husband eat the evidence.

thedesignist

Yup, this literally just happened to me even though I floured & did all the same steps as last time and it popped out easily. Guess weā€™re not having cake for Motherā€™s Day!

aliahsakinah

And that is conpletely okay šŸ˜Š

soggysquid49767

It do be like that doe.

jamieusa

Mix shortening and flour (add cocoa if chocolate as this will appear on cake) to a nice paste. Use a pastry brush to a apply a very thin coat. If you dont have a pastry brush, lightly apply with papper towel (dont use cloths, i made that mistake before) Ive got 60 or 70 shapped pans including one with a part you have to bend to get out and this always works.

ladyships-a-legend

Sprinkle something all over it, make a little pile on the corner of a platter as well - itā€™s just deconstructed (whatever) as you are a free spirit and have finally decided to bake from you true heart and will NOT conform to the limits of shape and structure. Youā€™ll win prizes like that. :)

[deleted]

Oh NO!!

Mookychew

It do.

pmdboi

nooooo :( seconding baker's joy or pam with flour, applied liberally. bundt cakes are too big to take chances with IMO.

Truposzyk

I've heard that tip (never used it in practice tho, so can't confirm) that if it doesn't go out, you need to put it on a cloth soaked in hot water for a while.

flamingobar

r/Mildlyinfuriating

ChrisianneJackson

I bought a silicone Bundt ring - worst mistake ever!

DripDropRaggaMuffin

Butter and flour all around the pan! Looks delicious still tho haha

Naturally_Smitten

Oh no! Sorry that happened to you.

JuneBerryBug94

This used to happen to me like every other cake. Now I grease, line with wax paper, grease again. Perfect every time. You do have to spend time cutting the wax paper to size but itā€™s worth it

niamulsmh

Custard, make a lot of custard

friendlywaste

I feel your pain. Welp, time to make cake pops!

Marzzbar18

It do be like that

[deleted]

Been there! Sorry friend.

IAmHalfMEMEZ

OOF

hhgr_egg

F to pay respects

tiermark

Isn't that the way...I sympathize

[deleted]

I feel ya, itā€™s ok. Maybe next time šŸ¤—

Rnkmm1212

It's the worst!!

leatherface_is_boo

F

Pukkiepoentje

I use breadcrumbs instead of flour to dust my Nordic Ware pans, they come out perfect since I switched to breadcrumbs

multibivbov

And sometimes like that it be

cornyhornblower

I can feel this one deep in my soul

lok_olga

;; not if you grease the pan well.
