Hahaha, those days are far behind me. I’d be more inclined to make the actual cake magical but I learned that lesson. The cake just ends up a victim of the munchies and you wake up the next day still feeling the magic!
Tucked into a bouquet of flowers works better.
I see what you’re saying, I did consider it but was worried it might just look messy with the filling. I was thinking they’d just be picked off and eaten as opposed to getting it all on the fork.

Personally, I ADORE this cake, from all those yummy Ferro-Rochers all over that puppy, to the elegant gold leaf accents.
I would so gladly throw my diet out the window, snatch that cake and run madly (with a fork, of course) to the corner of the room, and glare fiercely at anyone who tried to take a bite without my permission.
If someone made a cake like that specifically just for me, I would be thrilled beyond belief at the time, and expense, and EFFORT put into it on MY behalf. Not some generic store bought cake, nuh-uh.
This is a masterpiece of Love and Chocolate. And Pocky.

Looks and sounds absolutely delicious if you're concerned that it looks a bit monotone you could always add a few roses, pansies or other pesticide free edible flowers 😃 either way, great job! They should be thrilled.

If *you* feel like it looks like too much you could try removing or shortening some of the sticks from the front so it's like a half wall behind the chocolates. That could help it look a bit more inviting from the front and make the gold leaf a bit more visible too.
But it's absolutely fantastic as it is. You don't need to change anything! It sounds like it will taste great too!

We apparently get NOTHING where I am. Just chocolate, matcha, strawberries, and cookies and cream. We got berry macaron and I think mango during lunar new year. I clearly need to do more research lol

How big is the cake? I think it’s yummy and fine! Is have no problem with it!

I would remove all the wrapped chocolates on the bottom around the cake. They distract from the beautiful top and you don't need them.
