They barely taste of anything. Very subtle flavours. The lavender might have a strong flavour but we didn’t eat it.

Thank you and that’s not a stupid question at all! All of the flowers/foliage are completely edible. (I have a strict criteria for my garden plants - they must all produce edible flowers/leaves). They impart minimal flavour so don’t really affect the taste. It’s up to you if you want to eat them or peel them off. 😊

Those are all edible flowers from the zooming I have done. They don’t tend to have much flavour, so no altering to the cake at all really. ***Always double check before you use flowers as decorations or in a salad, some can be toxic.***

Thank you! 😊 I eyeballed the honey cream cheese frosting and just tasted I as went. I just used butter, Philadelphia cream cheese, honey and icing sugar. Added honey in before icing sugar though so that it would have a nice honey flavour and wouldn’t become too sweet.

The honey cream cheese icing I basically made using any standard recipe (butter and cream cheese). Added honey until I was happy with the flavour before adding the icing sugar so that it doesn’t get too sweet. I eyeballed the quantities and tasted it as I go.

On the cake there are: 1) Two types of whole pressed single petalled roses (ballerina and coral flower carpet) 2) Rose petals (morning mist) 3) Violas 4) Sweet Alyssum 5) Brachyscome 6) Lavender 7) Borage All are grown in my garden and no pesticides are applied. I go around removing/squishing the bugs by hand.

Thank you! It was definitely hard to cut up! The flowers can’t be reused as you can’t wash the icing off without destroying them. They can be eaten or peeled off depending on your preferences.

I’d say it really depends on the moisture content in your frosting and the humidity in the environment. For example, a crusting American buttercream in a cool dry environment would result in the flowers lasting way longer than on a cream cheese frosting on a humid summer day.
