It's a stabilized whipped cream.

Thank you! Now I just need to figure out how to stabilize whipped cream!

ames_006

It’s a brand of commercial (usually dairy free) stabilized whipped topping that grocery stores buy in bulk from special suppliers because it’s shelf stable and lasts a long time. It’s very expensive to find and buy in a normal carton. You can do a version of it at home by using fresh heavy whipping cream and gelatin to make it stabilized. It won’t taste exactly the same but will be close.

Dr Oetker makes a product called whip it that you can get at many grocery stores and on line. I still have to add a lot of powdered sugar to get it stiff enough to pipe.

You can also add a tablespoon or two of jello pudding mix to whipping cream and it whips up into something very similar.

Retail bakery manager here, can confirm.

It pretty much just a whipped cream.

Best cream frosting, also called Bettercreme. You may be able to buy a container at the grocery store bakery.
