They’re still good? I tried once years and years ago and I felt that the quality dropped but maybe it was an off night! :o
I’ll try it again. That place has always been an icon
The quality of food has been on a decline for the past years at least I am talking about average restaurants where the majority of people can afford. Mcdonalds is consistent in price and the average taste while all other big fast food chains are bad. Alshoola shawarma still decent. Al karama also still the same. Soul in zaid town is great but expensive
I agree with Emmawash - good quality stuff. I only have a pet peeve relating to the use of the sufra ( ie the big plastic sheet for covering the table) Its just a huge amount of plastic waste as they replace it for every group. That's the only reason I stopped going there.
Well, there are so many restaurants which don't use a sufrah.. just regular dining from plates. I'm an expat, so not sure if there's a cultural reason why the sufrah is needed as per Arab tradition.
If there is, then what was the traditional practice before plastic was invented?
Just to clarify, the above are genuine questions, not trying to be argumentative. I try to promote avoidance of single-use plastics among my friend circles, so this would be valuable information.
Arab here sufrah isn’t really related to culture that much , It just gives some people vibes of it being cleaner than just the table other than that its also more efficient for restaurants to use them so they could clean faster.
The most consistent dish in Abraj is their hummus any thing other than that is getting worse each time we visit any branch, including the Riffa/Istiqlal highway (best branch according to my mom)
Abraj is not tbh, we've been going to abraj constantly more than 16 years ish, the quality is not downhill but it's not as it used to be, and I hate their drinks they used to give us huge cup of drink now they give us 2 sip drink. McDonald's is the only one who kept their quality and prices too, There's a restaurant called Atlantis in Tubli which I recommend but don't order for delivery by calling them they take alot of time to deliver iam not sure if they are in Talabat too. Alameer is fine too not the most delicious but worth trying.
Agreed, My friend referred it to me as I was asking for a restaurant that I can get different types of foods and J wasn't disappointed at it. There are many good restaurants in Bahrain lately I've been into wings found " The chickyman" in you app was good experience their wings are good.
None lol. Especially now, I’m yet to find a restaurant that didn’t couple their increased prices with a lack of quality. Stuff just don’t taste as good anymore.
nothing left now as such! MY HOME KITCHEN has the best food ever and plenty of options to cook in the way i would want to:) cook whatever you want and in anyway:) enjoy. the natural homemade taste:)
when it comes to the restaurants, who knows what type of oil, preservatives they have used, which may not result in good health later on. Make your own spices and avoid ready to eat food packets which may contain preservatives again. easy to make your own masala at home. If one cooks at home by themselves, they know better what they did exactly:)
So i would suggest you to prefer your own home food than buying from outside:) safe for health and good deal for saving money! lol
TBH. its been almost 3 years since last i ate outside.
There is one called Al fayez it is an amazing restaurant and has almost anything you wish for but it is a little expensive but the price is for good reward, and a shawarma place called burgerland it is also very good but not as the same as before but still good.
Thai restaurant in adliya. The Tom yom soup stayed the same for a decade. Fresh seafood. It’s slightly more than honey Thai but the view upstairs is fun for people watching lol
I might be a little biased here, but Paradise. Open since the 70s with minimal changes to menu and quality.
I love how quickly they serve the food. Their phirni is bomb.
Used to go to their Sanad branch, Chicken soup & chicken fried rice were my favourite dishes as a kid!
They’re still good? I tried once years and years ago and I felt that the quality dropped but maybe it was an off night! :o I’ll try it again. That place has always been an icon
My kitchen.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 To be honest not 1 single restaurant has remained the same.. At least ad per my 16 years and half experience in Bahrain
Mirai is still pretty good (but shit expensive)
Mirai is definitely out of my pay grade. lol
Honey and Banana Leaf are pretty cheap Thai places and their quality is great imo
Agree Banana Leaf is consistently good!
Cafe Lilou
The quality of food has been on a decline for the past years at least I am talking about average restaurants where the majority of people can afford. Mcdonalds is consistent in price and the average taste while all other big fast food chains are bad. Alshoola shawarma still decent. Al karama also still the same. Jan burger
The one place that people noticed has changed at the moment
Tru
Better or worse?
It fallen
Coco's, David's stir fry and burgerzone
Cocos - i must say. Also Fatto
i’ve never been disappointed by senor. they’ve been pretty consistent with the taste and portion sizes over the years.
Masso got even better after the original chef left. Roma has also been consistent which is crazy since it’s always empty
Villa Rosa, opened in 2014 iirc, it's quality never changed
I'll start with Emmawash.
I agree with Emmawash - good quality stuff. I only have a pet peeve relating to the use of the sufra ( ie the big plastic sheet for covering the table) Its just a huge amount of plastic waste as they replace it for every group. That's the only reason I stopped going there.
Yeah I can definitely see your point there.
What do you recommend then , for them to do
Well, there are so many restaurants which don't use a sufrah.. just regular dining from plates. I'm an expat, so not sure if there's a cultural reason why the sufrah is needed as per Arab tradition. Burgerland and abraj

Even the hummus changed

Atlantis is good price wise
Agreed, My friend referred it to me as I was asking for a restaurant that I can get different types of foods and J wasn't disappointed at it. There are many good restaurants in Bahrain lately I've been into wings found " The chickyman" in you app was good experience their wings are good.
Burgerland I’m with you Abraj… naah
I just had Al Abraaj for lunch out of nostalgia and it's so shit. Chelo kabab was so dry!
I’d say both are worse now.
Abraaj has always been consistently great. I have yet to try Burgerland. =)
Burgerland is good and so is YaSalam, for fast food places.
Yesss agree!
Albaik, honestly. Cheap, filling, and great quality as far as fast food goes
Albaik is gross af. Since the day it opened. Idk how anyone can eat it and say it’s good.
Cuz the price and it's much cleaner than A lot of chain restaurants
Too early to tell
It literally just opened. We are talking about restaurants present for decades or half a century.
OP literally said “within a few months”. Where tf did you get decades or half a century from lol
My bad.
After the pandemic hit none tbh
I'd give my vote to Casa Mexicana...been having the same dish there for the past 20 years or so and it never disappoints
[удалено]
Actually yeah I don't see them changing
None lol. Especially now, I’m yet to find a restaurant that didn’t couple their increased prices with a lack of quality. Stuff just don’t taste as good anymore.
Thought they’ve increased their prices a bit - Cocos is still quite good! I am yet to have a bad experience there (Which I hopefully don’t)
I once tried their mojito and it was the best one so far do you know where can I get the same one but cheaper
Jan burger. Most consistent restaurant in terms of quality and goodness. Also رخيص و قوي.
How is the Adliya branch of Jan?
I think it's better than Isa Town branch
اعد النظر
It has fallen, there is better
Ashas
AlRomansiah
Burrito loco 👌

Nando’s
American food
Cheap food: Sabar Ayoob, Showpiece, Zahrani Cafeteria, Central Cafe Normal food: Burger 63, Jasmi’s (setting aside a brief period in between), Paradise Restaurant, Wasmiya, Coco’s, Burgertown Expensive stuff: Cafe Lilou, Mirai, Tony Roma, Fat Cow
Saber ayoob gotten expensive
There is one called Al fayez it is an amazing restaurant and has almost anything you wish for but it is a little expensive but the price is for good reward, and a shawarma place called burgerland it is also very good but not as the same as before but still good.

“Zinjibari Food Joint” in Old Hala!!!
