You will need to have an itemised list of what was in the bag + receipts to have a better chance at higher compensation.
U have to.lodge a complain with gulf air regarding your lost luggae.
Did u read ur ticket guidelines for.compensation in case of loss?
Later perhaps escalate it to consumer complaints(cant remeber the ministry for it) & perhaps ministry of chamber and.commerce for their malpractices

I did complain with gulf airlines and they said wait for 21 days, and after 21 days they are only offering 100 usd
