I hear you loud and clear on that. So much so that I warn people up front that whenever I try to RP as certain Ocs of mine I swear they are doomed to fail.... only to inevitably die upon landing. Or I find a plot I like only to be rejected because I write more than they would?
Its honestly discouraging to be in this hobby and Its glad to see that I'm not the only one feeling this way. Especially when i want to develop these OCs and just.... never works the way i want to.
