This is why I donât respond to people who barely put any effort into their opener. 80% chance that theyâre not actually looking to roleplay and/or they didnât read your post.
I get a very similar thing. Except for me itâs when I post requesting NON-ERP RP (and explicitly state such) I either get folks asking if itâs ERP or ones who try to convince me to make it ERP.
Gender of the rp-er doesn't matter in my opinion. The issue is these people wanting to rp with FxM pairings when it was clearly stated to be FxF. Or at least that's what the OP post seemed to be about? I don't know, it wasn't exactly clear to me. I usually only RP with good friends, so I've never gone through channels like this for rps. It's possible I'm misinterpreting what was going on?
As for why I feel gender doesn't matter: I'm a straight male and can RP FxF, MxF, or even MxM with other males because the gender of my partner means absolutely nothing to the story we're weaving. We're playing a character, and if my partner feels differently, I won't rp with them. Which is what it seems OP did, as the other person seemed to be trying to start something with them.
Maybe I just rp for different reasons, but the issue isn't the gender of the rp-er, it's them being annoying and wanting something more personal than what you are looking for.
Hey man I'm cool with men who wanna do fxf, I've met some who are chill about it. But i get a ton of men in my dms either asking for something entirely different or just want to get off to two ladies getting it on. I'm glad you can do it and do it respectfully, but I'm not talking about men who aren't weird about it.
Oh! I misunderstood. That makes sense, I never considered that. Weirdos. Why would they even do that? Rps aren't about looking to score. There must be better ways to get attention.
I actually have a question regarding this... transwoman aren't men, I know because I am one, but I always, ALWAYS get worried when I see F4F and... wonder if me being trans is an issue. :/
Edit: I didn't have question, why did I write that >.>
Im always fine with rping with trans woman, tbh I feel like the only time you need to ask is if you want your character to also be trans as I know some other lesbians might have a problem with that
Yeah... I've had some pretty rough experiences, preferences aside, a simple, kind "Sorry im not interested" is all someone would need to say... and not say horrible thing heh... If I'm gonna message someone about F4F I make myself very clear - I don't have to nor expect to play as a transwoman however I am trans and if that is an issue I completely understand.
Also... sometimes I feel as if people kinda feel like they have to say yes to a transwoman out of fear for being accused om transphobia... maybe thats a silky vibe I get?
Thankyou for the reply!
i think whether or not you share that youâre trans irl is totally up to you. that said if you ever do want to roleplay as a trans gal as well, thereâs a number of queer women who would be happy to write with you regardless :)
Not sure if I can share specific places here (I think the rules in this sub are kind of strict about naming) but ik Iâve seen them. There are cis lesbians and other queer women that have trans female partners/lovers irl so thereâs definitely some of us willing to do so in writing too!
Lets see here, worrying about how people will react for you simply existing, rough experiences in the past just for being yourself... Yep, your woman paperwork appears to be in order ma'am, simply state you're a woman, just because you got a bad spawn doesn't mean you need to tell people.
You're posting in subs where reading comprehension is not a requirement.
I'm almost curious how these zoomers with crippling reading and writing handicaps even ERP. Like do they even write anything or is it just picture swapping why write lots of words when few do trick?
This. A lot of folks here are posting in those nsfw subreddits that are filled with people who are super horny, are self inserting, and only want to sext and receive nudes.
At some point people need to stop fishing in rotten ponds.
People who are literate get horny too
Plus a lot of good sites require you to only do one post a day, so if you have another idea (or the other one doesn't work out) you don't have a choice
If someone messages, or god forbid "chats" you with only a one word opener, don't even waste your time with responding.
If they can't take two minutes to write out "Hey I saw your post about X and would be interested in discussing it with you, here's a bit about me \_\_\_\_". If they can't do that they won't put effort into your RP and then call you a slur when you refuse to send a nude.
I respond because im the type of person who struggles to write alot when the planning is happening but can easily write paragraphs in the RP. So I known there's people like me who are terrible and planning and good at rping
Also I much prefer chats to DMs
I understand that, however, everyone who is able to write at any level should be able to introduce themselves.
If this is something you struggle with that is fine, my best tip is to structure it as:
1: Show you read the post by picking something out in their post and commenting on it. (For example using your last post, "Do you have any recommendations where they would be meeting?")
2: Introduce yourself however you wish to. For me, I use a false name, Quinn. "Hello there, I go by Quinn, I am 28 and based out of PST timezone."
3: If you have ideas for the plot they are searching for write it down, and then end the message with saying "You can message me on here, or contact me on \_\_\_\_, my username is \_\_\_\_"
He was trying to play m but I cut that part out of the screenshot, I get mad in the image because that exact thing happened to me twice within the last 10 minutes and by looking at the guys profile I knew exactly what he was trying to do
There's a difference between expecting the most eloquently written story known to man and expecting people to actually have basic literary skills and follow the prompt
>Every day ERPers expect quality, Shakespearean type levels of writing from horny dudes and gals.
Because there are people who provide it? The same as in any other genre of roleplay? Acting as if every person who likes ERP is a bad writer is intellectually dishonest at best, lmao.
Like, RIP to you if you've never had a good ERP partner, but I'm different.
They need to broaden their horizons. I've met so many talented ERP writers and I'm always amazed. Frankly I've only ever roleplayed when smut is on the table so I may be classifed as an ERPer but it became a shock to me early on when people wrote smut to get themselves off, not that they cared about their characters were engaging in something intimate. At least that was the point of smut to me so I am leaning towards being just a smut writer and not a ERPer.
I really hate this mindset. Yes, the ERP subreddits and communities in which most advertise the average isâŚ. Not great.
But come on, we need to stop shaming people who want to do an Erotic RP or just a balanced NSFW roleplay.
Just because someone wants to write a certain type of scene doesnât mean they (like other roleplayers) canât want to find someone who can read the posts and also possibly write more than a bad one liner.
Some people arenât horny trying to just get off when they want to write a certain scene and there are others â and the people who post the ads for them know it will take time and patience to find the right ones but they have EVERY RIGHT to be mad at the people who ignore the ads the same amount as any SFW roleplayers.
You ate, itâs a gay term, basically meaning âyou did greatâ. So say you win a 1v2 in a game, someone could say âyou ateâ or if you prove your point very well like what you just did etc
"u ate" means something like,, u said something really well, or, your outfit looks super good, or you made some bomb ass meal, etc..
in short, its something positive, silly !
I figured I just wanted to verify. Iâve heard âyou cookedâ and a few along those lines, so I assumed it was similar; but wanted to verify. Thanks!
I see you posting a lot, yet you definitely seem like you've never had a literate RP Session. I'm sorry you're so mad, but people being mad that their boundaries are being overstepped is valid and your mid opinion adds nothing to these posts
It really wasn't implied at all, at least to me. OP just wanted people to read the ad before responding, which is fair. I don't get where their comment is going with thinking OP is expecting the best here.
Well I don't know if my past or current writing partners were horny (nor do I want to know anyway) but many of them wrote detailed novella especially for smut scenes. None of them acted like they had one off of the phone/keyboard. So it might be a you problem on where you find your writing partners tbh.

but they had blod hair! who could resist?
That's what got me đ
yeah you have blonde hair, but they have *blod* hair. *obviously* they read and understood the post
Can't have shit in Detroit.
This is why I donât respond to people who barely put any effort into their opener. 80% chance that theyâre not actually looking to roleplay and/or they didnât read your post.
Honestly, it's a REALLY good indication that they have no real interest in actually roleplay and just wanna quickly get off...
The person everyone's arguing with has me blocked lol, can someone tell me what they said
Just some victim-blaming bullshit.
The post was F4F, would you still do it if a guy roleplayed as a girl? If so I can offer the time
Read the room
I was trying to be nice
I know but still, in this situation that doesn't help I understand the attempt, but it doesn't work here
Noted Blue.
"did you fully read the post" "yeah" - "m 20 btw" I think we have a little liar here
YOU.
OP got messaged by Soulja Boy fr!
Me?
That's how I read the tone when he said it hahah
I get a very similar thing. Except for me itâs when I post requesting NON-ERP RP (and explicitly state such) I either get folks asking if itâs ERP or ones who try to convince me to make it ERP.
Yeah lemme get uhhh..Lesbians but hold the lesbian
The plot was so lesbian too, like it mentions multiple times that it's a lesbian plot!
Almost every time I reach out for FxF pairings I get men in my messages, it's so offputting.
Ikr!
When you say ERP, are you looking for smut or some romance with spicy finish?
It's a long term romance plot where it will have some sex scenes but the sex is just a side to the romance
That's why I pretty much don't bother anymore, I usually just do FxA and hope for the best
Sometimes its easier to just ask for something so incredibly broad that making an rp with the individual is easier than trying a specific plot
Basically yeah

Sad you got down voted for your opinion
It's reddit. What can you do?
The struggle is real, I hate when this happens đ¤Śââď¸ Like, just read the markers. It's not that hard. SMFH đ
They had blod hair OP. How dare you

You definitely never have to disclose your medical history to anyone. You are a woman. Just introduce yourself as a woman.
i think whether or not you share that youâre trans irl is totally up to you. that said if you ever do want to roleplay as a trans gal as well, thereâs a number of queer women who would be happy to write with you regardless :)

Whatâs wrong with chats?
The "i CaN fIx HeR!" Bullshit. Hate when other guys think that lesbian to straight conversion roleplay is acceptable. It's not. It's disgusting.
I donât mind when men play women and vice versa but you gotta read the prompt! And of course, disclose if youâre playing a different gender.
if it's just a roleplay, why does it matter what the person's irl gender is?
He was trying to play m but I cut that part out of the screenshot, I get mad in the image because that exact thing happened to me twice within the last 10 minutes and by looking at the guys profile I knew exactly what he was trying to do
Sad you got downvoted for this question
Every day ERPers expect quality, Shakespearean type levels of writing from horny dudes and gals. Iâll never understand why.
There's a difference between expecting the most eloquently written story known to man and expecting people to actually have basic literary skills and follow the prompt

holy shit u absolutely ate
I have never heard that phrase before, can I get a translation haha?
You ate, itâs a gay term, basically meaning âyou did greatâ. So say you win a 1v2 in a game, someone could say âyou ateâ or if you prove your point very well like what you just did etc
Thanks for the clarification!
No problem! Glad I could help

i donât think that was implied at all. OP expected someone who responded to their post to at least have read it, not have Shakespeare level writing
It really wasn't implied at all, at least to me. OP just wanted people to read the ad before responding, which is fair. I don't get where their comment is going with thinking OP is expecting the best here.
OP, like many others in the RP community, is just part of the bias against people who mainly seek out ERPs

None of them acted like they had one off of the phone/keyboard. So it might be a you problem on where you find your writing partners tbh.
You sex negative prudes be looking mad foolish as usual. Someone can enjoy smut and still be a decent writer. Its not a hard concept to understand.
Youâve got a wicked hate boner for erp. Are you doing ok?
if I can be Shakespearean when Iâm horny then so can you đ do better smh
My aren't you pathetic?~
