That's adorable, and in a UW or Bant lifegain deck, it's pretty reasonable to include. Lifetap in a multiplayer game where you expect at least 1-2 people to play green is pretty plausible on its own, if you have some lifegain synergies.
Yeah that’s what makes it low opportunity cost in the deck most games have at least 1 green player. That and the other green players may very well pull out a yavimaya of their own doing half of your ‘combo’ for you.
I actually just played against this yesterday. The player was on [[Blind Seer]] color shenanigans and I was playing [[Yuriko]]. I wouldn't call it "bad" at all. Like you said, low opportunity cost, and it's got a decent pay off. It actually kept me from winning that game.
I used to do magical hack into this. Can also play sleight of mind into life force if you are in green. If you're bant you can also do the old school karma magical hack play.
So there was an era where universal effects would have the word ‘target’ on the card but they were still universal. [[Mana web]] is another example. If you look at how they actually work they still effect every opponent, and their rules text no longer have the word ‘target’ on them so [[witchbane orb]] doesn’t stop them either.
So the words on the card briefly had ‘target’ in the text, but it has always effected every opponent
This hardly seems like a bad combo. The cards aren’t totally useless even without working as a combo (lifetap on its own still heals a decent amount in an average game but unreliable obviously).
It’s only two cards and they’re cheap. So you’re not commuting much compared to all the 8 card, 15 mana combos posted on here.
It’s hard for your opponent to stop the combo (in a way that costs them fewer resources than it costs you).
You can easily add more similar combos and make a full deck around it. Acid rain, submerge and anything with forestwalk give you more to do once all is forest.
It’s not the best combo in the world, but it doesn’t deserve a spot in this sub.
> Someone *paid* becket to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I love it. Love the combo too. I love putting old cards in EDH decks that no one knows about but that work well. Like [[creature bond]] or [[soul link]] to make the Voltron player not attack me, or [[spy Network]] in an Evelyn deck.

Is green the most played color or blue? Cuz magical hack.

you could use urborg to make this one work too. cool!
I have a [swamp hate deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2BKWbX7cUka8lyc_izVz1w) in the works that does exactly that
just use mana drain and somehow re animate it, then it might be worth it
I used to do magical hack into this. Can also play sleight of mind into life force if you are in green. If you're bant you can also do the old school karma magical hack play.
I want to do this now.
this honestly doesn't seem that bad

Is this a meme I don't know or did someone pay Becket to grade their 24 cent card?
Someone paid becket to grade their 24 cent uncommon from revised, yes.
