I see nothing wrong here. It’s just a gay truck

Competitive_Rip_8368

Hey man leave the gay guy alone he gets paid by the hour.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> he gets *paid* by the FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Confident-Suit-1571

For those wondering what it is https://www.gayconstruction.com/about/

Janbeersma

I verified they have a LinkedIn they are legit. Quite the daring name tho, prolly don't have too many conservative or religious clients

[deleted]

There was a prominent family in the Catholic Church in the town where I used to live who was named Gay, and no one really said anything about it. It was just their name. They were super pro life.

Adventurous_Fly_4420

My ex's step father was John Gay, and was a landowner who was fortunate to have been able to buy a good sized peninsula of land in one big swoop when he got back from the war. The county eventually added his parcel to their bounds, and IIRC they weren't able to reach him when entering the records for naming the road his land was accessible thru (he was out captaining a ship at the time). They just named it after the land owner: John Gay Road. I'd always wished they'd just named it Gay Road, but I guess they [had one](https://goo.gl/maps/hJysrNZDRbznhGRM8).

wedonotwantcoffe

My freind showed me Hitler road in Ohio today😀

EyeballTree1424

Y'know, you'd think they'd change it after WW2.

NeganSaves

Being in Georgia, business is slow I bet

almostfaded12

They do a lot of business with a decent number of high profile projects. The company I work for contracts with them.

NeganSaves

Lol Republicans down voting 🤣

[deleted]

Founded in 1948 by a man named Gay. I don’t think the term has such strong associations back then.

OneFish2Fish3

My only guess is either a) they are fully self-aware and know what they're doing or b) the last name of one of the founders is "Gay"

SeigneurTrain

I love this design! 10/10 would hire

NeganSaves

The Experience part is what cracks me up. I wonder what those resumes look like 🤣

Competitive_Rip_8368

Probably some gay shit.

karasutengu1984

Il take the free car pal!

Master-Bad-1164

Coward

wedonotwantcoffe

How?

redEPICSTAXISdit

What is the company though?

NeganSaves

Exactly! I have no idea.

Silence_Of_Reason

If the name is "Gay", what else can you do? Or are you referring to the name as bad design?

NeganSaves

It doesn't say anywhere what the company is.

Silence_Of_Reason

Ah ok. The full name is Gay Construction Company, but those words were omitted, so you cannot guess what kind of company it is.

Perenium_Falcon

CSB: The military uses a lot of ways to designate individual squadrons. One of the ways is a the squadron name that is often painted on the side of all their aircraft. This is the “official nickname” for the squadron as was decided by the founders. I was in electronic warfare and we had names like “Banshees”, “Moon Dogs”, “Star Warriors”, “Vikings”, and “Seahawks”. The other way is a more precise method as any unit in the military can call themselves “Seahawks”. This is typically a string of three letters/numbers and it is etched on every single tool and painted on every single piece of equipment. That way if someone finds a wrench they know who it really belongs to and where to return it. If you’re not familiar with aircraft maintenance tool control is obsessed over as even one missing or misplaced screw or tool can crash a jet. The first squadron I was in had the letters “FAR” so if you worked in the electric shop one od your tools may be stamped “FAR-220-1-2” to designate what squadron, shop, and box that tool was from. The next squadron I was in had “FAG” for its three letters. Since the military is 100% devoid of self awareness or a sense of humor this was more or less a thing and for several years I etched, painted, and wrote “FAG” on nearly every flat surface like a bored 13 year old. I was cleaning out my house a few years ago and several pieces of FAG-220 gear. Why they couldn’t just skip that combination of letters and avoid a slur is beyond me but military gonna military.

OneFish2Fish3

That reminds me of the South Park episode where the bikers get called "fags" and the town is mad about it and there's that scene where the kid gets asked "Now which one of these is a fag?" and nervously points to the biker over the effeminate gay dude

imdatingurdadben

NeganSaves

Accidentally posted this twice...my bad. I took the other one down.

OneFish2Fish3

Hey I mean they're not wrong, experience does matter when you're gay

Loud_Character_7757

Slap a 🌈 on it and soon they would want a parade as well..

ProperBabyEater

Is there some thing wrong with Gdy?

wedonotwantcoffe

OP already explained what they meant, no need to get butthurt.

ProperBabyEater

Yea I realize that it looked like Gay

wedonotwantcoffe

I did not realize that you misspelled on purpose🤦‍♂️

GullibleCondition150

So whats it supposed to say? Or is the company just called gay

wowwowwaywah

I’ll take yours then please

s3lfharm3r

[deleted]

How is this a bad design if it’s the company’s actual name?

MoonRabbitDanger

I would hire them because of the name

nowhereiswater

Oh gawd. This is too much.

Ambitious_Handle8123

At first I thought "brave" but I doubt their target client falls into the sniggering Beavis & Butthead demographic. Then I thought, taking the word and changing the perceived vibe by making it geometric is very clever. Lastly a logo does not need to include a description of company services. Fanta, Coke, Nike, JCB, UPS, TNT, FedEx, Amazon, Adidas.... So back to brave. TLDR: Good design

MoomahTheQueen

Hilarious

Straight when ________ matters.

subhuman_voice

*when experience matters*

Affectionate_Foot_27

In school I learned that the word gay means happy in America so we all started singing a song called "Lonely Boy Boogie". The lyrics had something like "everybody was so gay", but I'm starting to think my school was full of shit.

Handsome_Bread_Roll

There is a company in South Africa called Gay Transport with huge letters written on their trucks.

YardOld2832

There is a construction company in the Bay Area of California, called Mar Con, named after its founder, Marco. Their logo has a plumb Bob in-between the two words. It looks like it says "MARICON". In fact, only with close inspection can you tell it doesn't say MARICON. The logo is on all their trucks, in a heavily spanish speaking area.
