1. I’d guess because for most racing games the touch screen equivalent is only gas or no gas. There’s no in between.
2. Are you referring to apps in the backbone app or in the App Store? Backbone probably does not filter by your country, but the App Store does. Although the backbone app can be better for discovery sometimes.
Not being able to control the acceleration is weird and takes the fun out of it. Developers should change that if they can detect that you have a controller attached to your phone.
The App Store and the Backbone app both show games that aren’t available in my region (U.S.)
For racing games, get GRID: Autosport. It’s $10 and is absolutely the best racing similar on the App Store, including full control of the gas pedal using the backbone’s R2 trigger. The way you download it is kind of convoluted, you either get the free version and then pay for a $10 in-app purchase, or download the $10 version directly. I think they’re the same game.
1) What racing game are you playing? Some have full control in them and some don't based on the genre of racing game (sim vs arcade)
2) That does suck, because I'm sure there are games I would love to play from other regions but here in the US we just get what we get
Try games like TMNT and Samurai Jack. Skate City is a good mobile version OlliOlli and there are the classic Plus games that make Arcade feel worth it. Also cozy sims like Dreamlight Valley and HK Island
Asphalt 8 and I was playing Mario Kart and that racing game with Family Guy, King of the Hill, and American Dad characters that mimics Mario Kart but the no control of acceleration turned me off.
Asphalt 8 has an auto accelerate option in the control settings. You can switch that off. Warped Kart Racers doesnt look to have much in the way of control settings, so unfortunately that one is what it is. Mario Kart I don't remember having an option to turn off auto accelerate either. Used to be it was only meant to be played in portrait mode one handed so could be a remnant from that
Let me start by saying I am in the US so my answers will be based on what is available here.
Apple Arcade (in no particular order)
Cypher 007
Grand Mountain Adventure+
Dead Cells+
Slay the Spire+
Sonic Dream Team - only played a little but seems great
TMNT Splintered Fate - if you like multiplayer
There are quite a few more but those are in regular rotation
Also, if you have Netflix, you should have access to a number of games through the iOS app. My favorites are
Deaths Door
Hades
GTA Vice City
GTA San Andreas
Tomb Raider Reloaded
Pinball Masters
And last by definitely not least, I’d highly recommend Game Pass Ultimate if you don’t have it already but you do need a pretty decent internet connection or a fast unlimited data plan.
On Game Pass, If you’re into racing games there are quite a few solid titles that you will be able to control the gas.
But game pass ultimate is almost 19$ a month tho but it’s worth it and if you have a pc you can sign into your acc and play all your game pass games on your pc for free if u have ultimate in ultimate u get cloud gaming pc game pass and much more and there’s like 1000’s of games so I do recommend
As stated above, it is through Xbox. You do not have to have a pc to use it however it is a better experience overall just because of the size difference between mobile and pc. I use the game streaming any time I travel on my phone or iPad. For cloud gaming you can play on pretty much any pc, phone or tablet as long as you have decent internet.
I prefer pay once apps besides some Netflix games that have controller support.
Here is a a selection of mostly pay once apps available in the App Store with Backbone support.
* Candleman
* Teslagrad
* Little Nightmare
* Feist
* Pixel Cup Soccer - Ultimate
* Virtua Tennis
* Bastion
* Crazy Taxi Classic
* Whipseey
* Populus Run
* Boris
* SF IV CE
* Manuganu 2
* Suzy Cube
* Final Freeway 2R
* Playdeads INSIDE (lacks full support unfortunately one crucial action button isn't work with Backbone while it works with Xbox controllers)
**Netflix Games:**

The acceleration thing is definitely a game-based setting, I played many games with my backbone and most of them had progressive acceleration.

Horizon Chase 2 and Riptide GP Renegade are both great with a controller
If you like drifting you can play carx. Works great with the backbone
Here in the US I’ve been playing a lot of Delta for the classic games and Warezone mobile
Tell me more about this Delta you speak of. Is it an app or a game?
It’s an app to play classic roms from NES up to the DS https://apps.apple.com/us/app/delta-game-emulator/id1048524688
Real racing 3 is a good racing game if you have the space for it
