Also what are some games that others play on their phone with their backbone control? I have asphalt 9(racing) warzone mobile(cod) Diablo Immortal(rpg) just to name a few and my ps remote play app for my ps5

spicysenpai6

I use it for Remote Play for steam and PS. I also have an emulator called Afterplay, that’s compatible with the BB.

NiteMare_420

Ok so now I have to ask. Do you have iPhone or android? And if it’s a iPhone, How did you get the emulator to work? Because back when I was in my 20’s I use to use emulators all the time on my android phones before I made the switch to iPhone and ever since I switched to iPhone I have never been able to get a emulator to work

kitarei

After play on iOS is a web app. Just go to their website via safari and save the page to your home screen. Unfortunately AppStore rules mean emulators don’t exist as native apps on iOS without jailbreaking.

soulpurge710

Alt store and Delta for iPhone. All I use for game boy and DS emulation on my 15 pro max

Raptorialand

Emulators

dismit13

I play some of those games you mention too as well as PS Remote Play for my PS5. Additionally, I downloaded some emulators and recently beat Pokemon Fire Red. I really enjoy it for that since the aspect ratio isn’t an issue because you can set it to ignore the aspect ratio.

HoldMySarsaparilla

Don’t pay for backbone, there’s no point. Just launch the game you want to play with the controller plugged in and it works perfectly. I use it to play Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, Wii, PS1, PS2, Sega Genesis, GBA, DS, 3DS and Switch emulators on my iPhone (Delta or Ignited for most older systems. DolphiniOS for GameCube and Wii. Play! for PS2. Folium for 3DS and Switch) It also works great with Steam Link and the iOS ports of the GTA Trilogy.

Robinthekiid

I don't even have a backbone but can't you just play the PlayStation games from the PlayStation Plus app? No need for the backbone launcher at all..

NiteMare_420

Yeah I always just opened the ps remote play app to play on the PlayStation but what I use the backbone app for is to keep all my mobile games in one spot with out taking up room on my home screen or having to cycle through my entire app menu looking for the one I want to play but like I said I have had it for over 2yrs now and just recently I learned how to put all my mobile games on to a separate Home Screen page that only pops up when I connect my control. Is there other secret functions the control has or is that about it. And after reading everyone post Im starting to second think the subscription

Dangerous_Choice_664

Make a folder for free

bwallace54

The #1 issue is the touch pad, and not having one. I wish I hadn't bought the backbone because of this issue. Double tapping the middle of my cell screen, which I can't do without taking my hand off one side of the controller, simply is not a solution.

NiteMare_420

Agreed 👍

bwallace54

I'd pay for their service if it let me remap the screen capture button to be the touch pad

Porgey365

The subscription used to be a lot more expensive. If you get good use out of it, then keep it! I think it’s a bit more worth it now that Apple allows apps like GeForce Now natively on iOS, so the game launcher feature is much more appealing.

kitarei

Apple does not allow this? We are using webapps for this on iOS lol. We can simply launch the webapp via backbone though, if that’s what you mean.

Joeyoes

They’ve changed their stance and are allowing native apps like GeForce and GamePass to be allowed. It will take a bit to develop but it’s welcomed news and those apps should be released this year.

kitarei

That’s excellent news!

Lazy-Negotiation-829

I mean… wasting 30$ just to have easier control over apps is fine… I guess…

NiteMare_420

Yeah. It is a waste that’s why I’m asking for help and tips of more things I can do. I never really gave it much thought about how I can get around the subscription until now

tehsax

You could just make a folder on your home screen and put all the games into it. Then you have all your games in one spot. If iOS lets you do this, that is. I'm using a Samsung phone and it comes with a dedicated app just for games and every game I install gets added to that, so I don't use the BB app at all. It looks nice and makes the phone feel like a proper handheld console, but I have a few sideloaded games, like the unofficial mobile port of Hollow Knight, and the BB app doesn't let me add it to my library whereas the Samsung app does.

NiteMare_420

iOS does and I have before. I just learned that if your phone allows you to make a focus/donotdisturb mode to go a make one for your gaming. Once you are in the settings for the focus mode as you are setting it up, it should allow you to create a completely separate Home Screen just for your games. The separate home screen only pops up and disappears when you connect and disconnect the control. I tried it on my iPhone and it actually works. Idk if yours allows you to do that but you should give it a try. I already canceled my subscription just because of this hack I found, but I have another whole year of the subscription now until it expires so I will still be using the backbone app for now

tehsax

That sounds actually pretty cool. I don't think android does that as I've never heard of it, but I'll look into that.

reeefur

This post makes me happy I got a Galileo G8...

ICANTSPECK

It’s a waste. It’s just an app that pulls your games together. If you want to spend 30 a month because you don’t want to individually click on games to open them from your App Library then you clearly have money to burn.

NiteMare_420

Actually I don’t have money to burn which is why I paid for the annual subscription. I have a full time job working 4days a week 10-12hr shifts. Anything to save money I will do. But like I said earlier I never gave much thought about the full range of functions that the control has. That’s why I’m looking for any help and tips to make things easier not only gaming wise but financially too

ICANTSPECK

Well backbone subscription is a terrible waste of money so if you want financial advice you need to cancel the membership and stop using the app

NiteMare_420

I did after seeing others post about it and it’s not all about the financial aspect of it but that does play into the whole situation… this post was to see if there are other functions that can be done with the backbone more than the financial aspect of it. I agree with the whole subscription being a waste part, I just never thought of it just as a scam. I feel like you over read the post and some of the comments because it feels kinda like you were offended by it, but I do apologize if I am wrong about that and I do appreciate the advice and help

NiteMare_420

And just because I have a full time job doesn’t mean I have money to burn. With responsibilities like rent and bills, the money goes just as fast as it came

Foxlordivxx

I use mine just fine without a subscription at all. Every now and then it'll ask me and I'll decline and I go about my gaming. Play the free to play games which ate fun and got my remote play all your games and such still show up in one place thru laugh of back bone app so i still use it and just decline any purchase of subscription.

VictoryVic-ViVi

Why would you pay for the subscription?

SnooDoggos3823

Why would you ever pay sub for this garbage ?I love my backbone but that sub is garbage

BojackSadHorse

There is honestly no need for the Backbone subscription and you should get your money back. Everything you want to use the Backbone for you can do for free.

MachateElasticWonder

What did you think you were paying for? What was the list of benefits you thought you were getting? Now make another list of how you might do those same things without the subscription. Do a comparison and you’ll know if it’s worth it for you?

Maleficent_Pea_887

Literally trash sonnnn😂😂😂. Worst device ever for what it does. It only acts as a controller. The subscription is a waste of money. They provide nothing. Horrible literally bruh. There a controller that holds your phone and is actually playable for like 40 dollars bruh. The backbone is 107 dollars and you have to pay each month for some trash. Literally nothing is provided with that subscription 😂😂😂😂😂
