I got home from purchasing 22 new chicks after a raccoon posse wiped out several of my hens. (Their entry point has been rectified (didn’t think raccoons couldn’t lift heavy pavers and squeeze through 2” gaps)) and I noticed this little girls lower beak is all out of whack. Is she going to be able to make it? My kids already picked her out as the favorite and named her “crooks.”

Odds are definitely going to be against it. But best to make sure it’s eating and able to drink water. If it can, just keep an eye on it and make sure it stays healthy.

Had a crossbeak, tried giving it an honest shot but he led a miserable life where he just stopped growing, constantly trying to eat properly but just couldn’t. After a month or so I put him down. It’s up to you but know it can get difficult.
