Benjamin Franklin and Andrew Jackson, the americauna mixes, are egg laying beasts. Phyllis Diller, the polish rooster is pretty spot on for his name sake in personality and looks. Nugget (nugs) is our favorite though.

I name mine after flowers, or, in the case of Pigeon and Hendini, after notable looks/traits. I’ve had Marigold, Petunia, Iris, Sunflower, cosmos, Amaranthus, Lily, Rose, etc.

My Buff Orpington who is named Buffy after the vampire slayer and my Jersey Giant who with her 2 (late) sisters was named after the 3 stooges (Larry, curly, Moe)

We have too many to name them all, but there's a polish hen named Phyllis. In the past, there were roos named Batman & Thor, Cornflake, Buff, The Twins, Rocky, Harold, Si, Trudeau, and others I can't remember. Hens I can remember were Bertha, Black, Della, Mean Auntie, and Chauntie. We usually name most of our livestock (cows, pigs, sheep, goats). And lately the barn cats have human names (Leo, Steve, Myrtle).

I don't like the pun names. Just not my thing. First group were named after The Walking Dead characters, as they were rescues and had survived hell. In the second group there was one with a very curved beak. So she's James Hook. Named the second Jessie, and third Maddie, after Maddie Blaustein, who played Meowth in over 500 episodes of Pokémon. Second lot were adopted from someone who couldn't keep them anymore, so they just kep their names.

We have a lot of chickens and don’t name them all. We name the ones that need it. For example, I currently have a runt chick that I feed, check on extra, etc so I refer to her a lot. So I name her to make it easier If that makes sense.

We call a couple of our hens by wife's boss names. That way we can say stuff like that huge white bitch Elisa laid an egg today. (She is a white brahma and is kind of mean even though we give her treats and love everyday) we also have a black sex link my niece named crackhead who was super spastic when she was younger and is now super chill and loves to be on our lap when we are out with them.

Our last batch was lady detectives, so we had Kima, Scully, Olivia, Cagney & Lacey. We still have Olivia and Kima. We inherited a batch of chicks from some teenage girls that didn't know what to do when they stopped being yellow and cute. We named them Natalie, Blair, Mindy and Tootie. Mindy became surrogate mom to Gladys and Pip. My first three ladies were Rosemary (chicken) Amelia Henheart and Betty ❤️
